This fan is great for lighting the interior of a RTT and running the fan on low-medium overnight helps reduce condensation. I clip it in the shiftpod (ground pop up tent) and inspired overland RTT. Battery lasts a long time after a full charge.
I like my 2 KickAss Portable 5V Clip Fans but the battery is so big it actually often interferes with the air intake. This often causes poor airflow on startup and you have to prime it by blowing air in the back. Once they get a good gulp of 'clean' air they manage good air flow from then on. If yours seems weak this is probably what's going on. Happens on both of mine so it's not a one-off faulty unit. Otherwise I like them - design bug and all.
So I hate being hot and sweat constantly even in 60 degree weather. This fans options for attaching are great. The mouth opens up quite a bit to attach to almost any point. The light works okay and I would say is more of a night light or supplement to another set up.The one con about this light is the button placement. Every time I go to grab it I hit the buttons and activate them to do something I did not desire. It’s annoying more than anything but not a deal breaker.If you’re wonder why this is my number three, my wife is number one, Venty is number two, and KA is my number three fan.I would recommend this product.
Bought two recently and used them over Christmas. These fans are really good. The convenience of being able to stand on a table or clip to something convenient makes them so versatile and the battery hasn’t gone flat yet after many hours. These fans will get a lot of use, they are great. Was worried they might be a bit small but still work as good as bigger fans. Well done guys.
Just got my two fans . First thing - they are not kickass per se. They are OPOLAR brand and widely available on the internet . KA is just reselling them. interestinlgy though, this model with a built in loight seems to be new. Amazon has the same fan no light with 2000 x 4.5 star reviews . No biggy for me . The build quality seems very good. It is chunky and sturdy and everything is tight with no wobble etc. The clip is excellent. They are not as big as one might be expecting but the breeze is pretty good actually . Range is about a metre on setting 3. After that is it just white noise. I bought my fans to use in my Swag here in the NT. It can get really muggy in a swag and I have been using larger coleman 12vs in the past. I think these will do the trick. Pretty cool fans. Clips almost anywhere. Perfect for a bit of airflow in the tent. Gets a bit loud on the highest setting, but I've never had to use it anyway
I love the fact that this fan has A built in LED light and the fan works very well. The different mounting options with the hook and the clamp that can used in a pole was well designed by Kick Ass. Last but not least the charging from usb. I would like to see about adding a solar panel to charge this fan.I look forward to trying out more products from Kick Ass! Great product.
