I used this product alongside the 2% and noticed a huge different after 1 week. I have some acne that has been difficult to get rid of for years on my cheeks. The acne dried out within 3 days and flaked off the bumps, so I continued to use it to hopefully get rid of the blemishes. However, I’m not convinced there isn’t some scarring involved at this point. I started with the 1.5% all over my face and then used the 2% on the major trouble spots. My skin has cleared up dramatically with only a few issues left after a week where the problems were the worst. I use a BB cream for foundation and noticed that layering this product with make up caused my face to look more oily, but it didn’t over dry my skin at all, nor make it more oily feeling than normal. I may just need to adjust my make up routine. I used this product twice a day every day and definitely recommend it for others.

I am a user of Kiehl's body care and have not considered their facial care product because I have a strict facial skin care regime to control my acne and I use simple moisturizers. I am surprised and delighted at how well Kiehl's Expertly Clear Moisturizer works for me. Upon seeing the ingredients list it incorporates botanical ingredients that Kiehl's is usually known to use: licorice, sage, chamomile, and Lactobacillus ferment. I would have not normally considered these for a facial moisturizer but I believe the Lactobacillus ferment aided in moisturizing my skin while the other botanicals were soothing. One con in this moisturizer is menthol. Menthol is great for painful acne but I found it unnecessary for my needs. I would seek out Kiehl's Expertly Clear Moisturizer because it combines 2 of my usual products and outperforms them.

I've tested the Kiehl's Acne Lotion for a month now I have come to the conclusion that I personally prefer it as a treatment for body acne as it has proved to be ineffective as a face lotion on my sensitive acne prone skin. I broke out more while I was testing this product. It could be from purging perhaps but after two weeks of worsening acne I decided to give it a break. I attributed the acne to hormonal, environmental or diet factors. After a week and a half of non use I tried this product again and woke up with zits in multiple places. However I have found it to cause clogged pores everywhere on my face even places where I normally don’t break out. After noticing this I tried using it as a spot treatment on my active pimples to see if it would reduce the redness, inflammation from active acne or help accelerate healing from hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately it did neither for me the active acne stayed red and inflamed with little to no effect . The instructions do mention consistent use for up to 3 times a day so it could be more effective by using it more often since it does have a lower salicylic acid content than typical acne products. It might just take longer to see results so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. The clogged pores I attribute to the ingredient: laureth-4. The comedogenic rating of this ingredient is a 5 which means high irritation and clogging. It explains a lot of the issues I was experiencing but it might also be that my skin is just intolerant to this ingredient. Personally for dry sensitive acne prone skin types I would recommend Kiehls Truly Targeted Acne-Clearing Pimple Patch it has made such a noticeable difference in speeding up my skin healing cycle. Like within hours pimples are gone!

I applied it to the affected areas on my face after washing thoroughly with my Aveeno cleanser and moisturizing with my Vanicream cream moisturizer. The formulation was nice and easy to use, it dried down quite quickly, and it didn't smell too bad unlike some other products I've had the misfortune of trying. It however did cause some dryness and irritation on my chin and cheeks, but I've been dealing with that by using the nutritious seaweed cream/mask by Estee Lauder as well as their essence along with the aforementioned cream moisturizer which has seemed to help somewhat but not fully yet. After two weeks of using this product , I noticed significant results. The white heads and blackheads that were once so stubborn are disappearing weekly. (I use the moisturizer about 2 to 3 times weeky and the liquid treatment serum I only use for severe occasions - severe pimples).

I'm sure if I wasn't doing that it would clear so much faster and so much better. As a result, I do have more red spots and scarring but that's totally my fault. I will say that the cream hasn't seemed to do much to heal or diminish the look of the spots which I'm not even sure it is supposed to so I will have to invest in a seperate treatment for that.Overall though, great product and would totally recommend to my super sensitive skin crew wherever you are!

It seems like this product would work really well if I didn't have SUCH sensitive skin, so honestly if you don't find your skin so sensitive, I think this would be an amazing solution to an acne product, but just be a bit weary if you have more sensitive skin and maybe do a spot test for a few days before covering your whole face with the product.
For the past couple of weeks, I have been using this moisturizer along with the Truly Targeted Acne-Clearing Pimple Patch with Salicylic Acid (as a spot treatment before using the moisturizer) for my combination, acne-prone, slightly sensitive skin. I love this product - using it as an overall treatment to prevent and treat active blemishes and the inflammation/redness/hyperpigmentation that they bring. This product has helped reduce all of that, in a quick manner, especially when before you have a social event - this product works awesome! Some other products usually do give me irritations - including benzoyl peroxide, but after hearing more about the instability of benzoyl peroxide, I feel like salicylic acid is much more stable and safe - as the benzoyl peroxide can break (down into carcinogen benzene - feel free to do your own research). After switching to this more stable, gentler product, my skin has overall been better, more even-toned, and reduced hyperpigmentation/redness and smaller pores. Would Recommend 15/10!
