Great flash drive; fast, high capacity reasonably priced. Used to backup data on a macbook pro because of issues with external hard drive recognition by the old mac. Worked flawlessly.

Likes: it is small but works very well. At 512 GB, I can store a lot of information as back up. I like the fact that the flash drive fits into a protection pocket.Dislike: The protection pocket is not very sturdy. I have to use an adaptor for my MacBook, and so I have some concerns for the flash drive cover staying together. Time will tell.Overall, I am happy with the device.

This makes transferring my movie collection so quick and easy! I love it!
Wide body blocks my MacBook Air 2022's second USB-C port.
I bought this flash drive and started moving files from my PC to it as a backup. Very shortly into this process the drive started having issues with duplicate files and ended up freezing up my whole computer. After it was unfrozen I lost access to the drive. It would show up in my devices as "unspecified" but there was nothing I could do to access the drive even after troubleshooting. I hope it starts randomly working one day but until then I can't recommend.
After reading reviews of how the DTMAX performs at or near USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds (10Gbps), I was pleased to see that CrystalDiskMark confirmed Kingston's speed claims in a variety of Q/T/Mix scenarios. However, flashing an OS install boot image to the device resulted in about 1MB/sec xfer rates and the OS installer failing because it couldn't find a removable device as the OS installation source. This USB Flash identifies itself to the computer as an unremovable HDD/SSD, not a USB Flash device, so you can't eject it safely. Every time I boot my PC, it will hang indefinitely because the volume service needed to read the performance and partition tables (i.e. show up in Task Manager and also in diskpart/diskmgmt). Once removed, the PC finishes booting like there's no problem, then plug it in and it works fine. This is an absolute dealbreaker for me! I wanted to use it both for a "Live CD" style operating system and/or as a high-speed Steam Library for games I play less often/don't require low latency or extra high throughput an M.2 would give me, while allowing me the ability to move that library of installed games between my various computers so I don't have to re-install those games on each machine if I use it. Great job implementing a fast, resilient, reliable USB Flash Drive, shame on Kingston for not identifying it as removable storage and it breaking Win10/Win11 on boot.
All and all the drive is ok. There are a couple things I don't care for. 1. the loop where you can add a key chain ring to it is flimsy, I wouldn't trust it not to break. 2. The base of the unit is to wide to hook to my cell phone with the case on it. The drive I lost ( Not a Kingston) because of the flimsy plastic place for the key chain ring was small enough to connect to my phone without removing the case. I bought it to keep on my person at all times but I have decided to put it in the puter bag and keep looking for a suitable drive.
Works perfectly with both of my laptops! I needed an adapter for my older one, but that’s not Kingston’s fault; plenty of storage space too
Bought to use as EVGA storage for my Xbox One. No problems installing it AMD downloading games to it. Games are playing very well from the drive! The casing is a little thick and I had to use the back USB port instead of the side port.
