Purchased for doing backups of embedded machines and found them to work very slowly when writing to the USB drive.Tested the drive with USBdeview and measure write speed around 9 MB/s. For comparison an old 500GB USB HDD was 50 MB/s and a new 128GB Sandisk USB flash drive was around 40 MB/sSo a full backup used to take 2 hours and on the Kingston DTX it was about 8 hours. The read speed was 100MB/s however so if you're only using it for that it could still be of use to you.Tests above were done on USB 3.2 gen 1 ports and all three drives were tested on multiple USB ports in different combinations and the results were consistent.

The service was quick and to the point, great. Very pleased with CCL ComputersI brought 4 of these and did a brief test on all 4. All worked fine, no issues but for one, which I have accepted as OK but do feel it's misleading. With storage the quoted size usually follow the SI system, so 64GB = 64000000000B of storage which when converted to computer sizing comes out at 59.6GB.I've used Windows, and three different programmes to check the size when testing, all report them as 57.7GB, which if you are bothered is approx 2GB down, not earth scattering but not strictly correct, that why it's only 4 star.Having said that the first one in current use works great.

Can't believe the price on this and the technology for guy who loves portable storage with videos this has to be the best price. Years ago you would spend hundreds and now for thea flash drive with the capacity to hold 128gb of data that's amazing especially if it fits in small compartment like your jean pocket the little pocket. This is amazing just want to go out a buy alot for the family as it such great gift for xmas presents. The only negative is should have that pull out feature so that you don't lose the cap, I throw mine away as it going be lost anyway. So there you have awesome product awesome price.

Alternative to costly installers
21 August 2022

I bought this to store some of my music software/sounds/plug-ins installers. Some companies only allow for a certain number of downloads before you have to pay to download your software/sounds/plug-ins again. Some of them charge for HD's or Flash Drives with the installers on them. Well, I figured this was a more cost effective solution. Many of these sound libraries are huge. I just copied the installers to this Flash Drive and stuck a label on it. Pretty simple.

Cheap, but slow and under-size
4 January 2023

Got two of these on sale for almost nothing, and they do function, but that's all I can say in their favor. They're SLOW. Slower than any USB 2.0 thumb drive I have. Slow enough that I thought something was wrong with my laptop. Nope. They're that slow on the desktop too, and every way I could think to format them. They also consistently clock in at 123 GB usable, which is a couple of gigs too small to back up a packed 128 GB SD card efficiently. They're too cheap to be worth the hassle of a return, but I wouldn't buy them again.

Incredibly slow write speeds, cheap for size
20 November 2022

$3 for a 128GB stick is quite cheap, but there is a reason this drive is so cheap. It's incredibly slow once you copy enough data to it to saturate the cache. After that, it dips below 10MB/s and stays there.I have a ton of MC flash drives as bootable drives that write relatively slowly but read acceptably fast. For the price, they are a good deal IMO. This is even slower than those to write to. I would avoid this drive (and maybe the Exodia line in general) unless you are okay with a large drive that can read at a decent speed but can't write quickly at all. As a bootable installer or for writing only small files like documents and a few pictures, this drive is okay. If you need to routinely write larger (or a significant number of) files to your USB drive, look ... More$3 for a 128GB stick is quite cheap, but there is a reason this drive is so cheap. Slim size for multiport USB hubs
5 June 2022

As far as I can tell this 64K USB drive works fine. I have used one of the USBs for storage and it meets my expectations. I haven't done any tests. I needed some more portable, temporary storage for moving Pages presentations and large photo files from my desktop computer to other physical locations. This three-pack fits the bill. I use a multiport USB hub on my iMac and the slim size of the USBs allows them to fit side-by-side when plugged in. The USB can be easily inserted or removed using the built-in plastic ring which can be hidden by the cap when in use (see picture). Most of my other USB drives are slightly too large to use next to one another.

VERY VERY slow write speed - more like an everage USB 2.0 stick
16 November 2022

HORRIBLE !!! this is not up to USB 3.2 standards in terms of data writing speed. Extremely slow write speed of around 12mbps !! (more like an average USB 2.0) check other reviews and comments on-line, don't just take my words. Takes ages to copy files especially that i bought the 128GB version. For the record, the read speeds is a decent 110mpbs.

Works good when Partitioned Correct
14 May 2023

I bought the 64GB model from an unopened package. Upon usage I found that the product was only partitioned for 32GB of storage. Luckily I had a FDisk Program and was able to unmount and repartition the Flash Drive to a Full 64GB (57GB actual). Actual transfer speeds are at 100MB/S on a USB3.1. Just be sure the product is actually partitioned to the correct size that you purchased.

You get what your pay for
21 November 2022

I'm a long time Kingston fan. If YOU are looking for a product with just "space", you've come to the right place. This item is no where near USB 3.0 standards. The most speed I've gotten out of this was a tiny burst of 14mb/s, while other brands like HP and Sandisk are giving me 60-80mb/s. The drive is 115gb, if someone is wondering. Keep in mind, I use ONLY the most updated hardware - 10th-13th gen intel CPU/DDR5 type of systems. I wonder if Micro Center had a contract with Kingston. Micro Center house brand USB sticks do thee exact same thing = advertise amazing speeds, when in all reality, the stick may just do USB 1.0 standards. If ALL you want is SPACE - sure it does the job. Speedwise, you can completely forget it. BTW the package says 128GB USB 3.2 = CUTE
