Very forward-thinking. I’ve never seen anything like this before. The touch screen is really nice and it turns on when it’s plugged into a USB port. It stays cool to the touch and it comes with a nice case. I feel like something like this would be used by a government agent. Kingston is also a brand that has been a round for a long time and is definitely trust-worthy.

After you unbox the device, setting it up takes as long as plugging in one of the provided cables to your machine, selecting your language, and entering [then confirming] a numerical passkey. After that's completed, the device will run through it's process and it'll be ready to go!I'm using my IronKey on an iMac running macOS Monterey 12.5. There's nothing to install or configure...the drive does it for you and when complete, you'll be able to see it in your Finder window (image attached). I’ve been looking for ways to securely store some documents and files, some of which contain sensitive information. This is perfect! It was easy to set up and use and it’s nice to have the peace of mind to know that I have an extra level of security. It seems to be effective and I love the size of it, not too bulky to store where I’d like it. Definitely recommend.

This is how all external storage should be. It is very easy to use and keeps your data safe.Using this drive to store your sensitive documents, photos, videos etc is incredibly simple and gives you such peace of mind. The touchscreen is responsive and clear, the controls are simple and well thought out. The options to set password complexity rules and PINs or passphrases and the ability to set user and admin accounts make this the perfect option for anyone looking to secure their data
I gave this to my wife since she’s been needing something to store all her stuff on her laptop incase the new one I got her crashes like the old one. She first thought it was a pad lock/lock box lol. With a ridiculous amount of storage space for the average person, this high tech external protection drive is the ultimate is privacy! Super fancy touch screen. More safety than I can summarize; encrypted, password touch sensitive, read only malware protection, etc. She now was to export all her finance information and medical history onto it too!
The number one thing I love about this device is that when you enter the passcode, the numbers move. This way if someone does obtain the device, there is not a way to pinpoint the numbers used. It's compact, easy to setup, and has a pretty large space on it. It also comes with a standard USB and USB-C connection cable. It's perfect for my on the go lifestyle.
What a great storage solution. All the features you’d expect from a secure, encrypted solid state drive with a very responsive touchscreen! Having digital copies of my family’s important documents backed up to this drive is fantastic and gives a lot of peace of mind. Only con I can think of is the screen can be difficult to see in the sun, but for most that will be a non-issue. Home run!
I decided to purchase a ironkey vault privacy 80es hardware-encrypted SSD 480 gb. To store some files on. I would have to say I'm truly impressed! Very user friendly especially with it's intuitive touch screen! Has a multi- password feature that's a great feature! Plenty of storage! I feel safe adding my files on it! Comes with a travel case and cables. Very impressed exceeded my expectations!

Simply follow the on screen instructions. The 480GB is a ton of storage. I’ve put documents, pictures, videos, files, reports and everything possible on it and I still have 472GB remaining. If you’re worried about how much you can store on it, don’t sweat it. If you’re like me, you won’t even come close to filling it up.There is also a neat little case that comes with it. It adds a bit of extra physical protection. There is also a small pouch in front of the case to put the two cables in. The case will keep everything in one place so no need to worry about losing cables. The biggest benefit, in my opinion, is the piece of mind this brings. Having my most sensitive info protected as well as safely storing pictures and videos of my family is what I love most. I don’t have to fill up my computer and laptop with a bunch of media files, so saving space on those devises is really nice.I’m really happy with this Ironkey vault. It’s simplicity makes it easy to use while it’s technology will protect your data. I’d highly recommend to others looking for an extra secure space for your most private data.
This is the first external hard drive I have used with security, and I must say that it covers that area pretty well! You get to establish a password when it is plugged in for the first time, and then it will ask you for that password each time it is plugged in. There are many different administrative settings that allow you to set specifics in regards to the password policy and other security features like key randomization. It has a color touchscreen, and although you can get things done by tapping with your fingers, I think a stylus would be the best bet here. The hard drive comes with both USB C to USB C and USB C to USB A USB cables. It also comes with a nice neoprene case that offers it protection when you are on the go. It seemed reasonably fast for what I was writing to it, but I don’t do a whole lot of files at once. Overall, this is a pretty fancy little hard drive that ensures that your files, documents, and information are safe and secure! It is also backed by a 3 year warranty.
