I'm not normally a reviews person but this clip is amazing. I have thick hair, and a lot of it, so claw clips usually won't even close for me, let alone stay put. I've had mine for over a year now and it's still practically good as new (the only reason I'm even back here looking at the product again is because I've decided I'm buying more clips from kitsch since this is the only one I ever wear). Obviously all claw clips tend to need readjusting if you're moving around a lot but this is by far the best claw clip I've ever used in terms of staying put in my hair. And I'm not alone in thinking it's great; my aunt literally tried to steal mine from me because she liked it so much.

This clip was smaller than I expected (but that's on me for not checking the measurements). It's really heavy for it's size and even though I have really thick hair, this slides through really easily. My hair is also really thick so this is only good for half up styles which are not my thing. I may end up giving these to a friend. If you have fine or textured hair these will probably work better for you.

The 10 year old has long hair and she tried this out. She found a way to wrap her hair around it and then went about her evening. It definitely looked a lot better than having a towel on her head. As a matter of fact, if done properly, it you can put this on your hair and head out the door. It dried her hair (ponytail part) quickly. The reason I gave this four stars is because it will never work for people with short hair and it is really not useful for drying the entire head of hair. I think it would work great for people leaving the gym or like I said, when your hair is wet and you need to leave the house and want your shirt to stay dry. It works but uses/functionality is limited.

I have thick hair that is long-ish.(few inches past my shoulders) For the past couple of years, I've been experiencing thinning of my hair around my scalp (age related) and some hair loss due to stress. Because my hair isn't in the best health right now, I've stopped using curling irons and hair dryers. I bathe at night, shortly before I go to bed. I had no clue that anything like this existed! l also never heard of the Kitsch company until now and have already picked out a bunch of hair ties that i'm interested in. And the prices are incredibly reasonable! FYI...for those interested, the packaging for these scrunchies is nice. I'm not going to post a photo since the packaging looks exactly like the photo on this page. The bag the scrunchies come in is a nice, thicker plastic bag with a zipper to open/close.

Ouch less hair bands still pull and excessive hair makes for constant headaches. Clips often snag, break, stab. These damn clips are magical. I can lay back on my couch with it in without it hurting. It stays in while working out or trying to wrestle a cat in the tub. It doesnt pull or stab or break. Anyone who knows me, knows things just break around me. I have mad skills like that. Seems well made; I was impressed right away with how sturdy the whole piece feels, especially the hinge and pin joint ... this is the part that breaks after a few uses with most plastic clips. It opens and closes smoothly, yet the spring is strong enough to hold my thick heavy hair. The finish coating is nice and seems like it's not going to wear off right away. The hematite color is beautiful, didn't see the gold in the store. Seems like the color finish is going to last. Would LOVE to see silver, bronze, copper, maybe rose gold color options too! So, I looked up this manufacturer's website to see if the clip is available in other options than what that store carries. The slimness of the claw area made me think that I would just be able to pull half my hair back away from my face, which I thought would still be worth it because of the metal construction and it being much less likely that the teeth would ever break or the body would ever crack. However, as it turns out, if I make a top knot I can strategically position the clip so that it holds all my hair in place high up on my head (clipping in front of the knot). And it actually stays. I imagine if you had very, very thin/fine hair it might be, but then you could probably just buy the minis which would be lighter and better for holding small amounts of hair.
I didn't realize until I reread the description that these are meant to be used after a shower. I use a microfiber towel as I have curly hair and it's recommended that I not use a normal towel. I will update the review if I find that this is useful for me after washing my hair. Meanwhile, I am using them at night when I got to bed. I put my hair in a pony tail and put it on top of my head. It's easier for me to sleep that way as I get hot plus my hair has a lot of body when I do it this way (it's just above my shoulders). I think it is better for my hair as I don't have to wrap it as tightly with this. It's also wider and I get more body out of it in the morning. this clip is beautiful, visually, but it does not grip the hair well or hold it in place. it is actually very annoying to deal with because it doesn't hold. and additionally, it's super heavy so it slides down after only a few minutes in the hair. i would not recommend this to anyone who has fine, straight, or thin hair. probably more suitable for someone with really thick & really curly hair.
