I bought my stand mixer in November 2022 and was shocked that the whip was aluminum and has to be hand-washed! Why such poor quality when the other attachments are machine washable? All it took was 1 person loading the dishwasher and my shiny whip is gray and discolored!! I am so disappointed with the low quality and very surprised at KitchenAid for including it when the mixer itself is sold at a premium!!

My husband bought this for me a few years ago. After only 2 uses one of the wire whip rods detached from the top. I came here to order a new one, since this is well out of warranty. After reading the reviews it seems that the welds on the top of the wire whip are not reliable. Now I'm not sure it would be worth it to replace mine, as I see so many people have problems with them.

How does a balloon whisk on an expensive mixmaster break whilst whipping butter? It only held its shape for a short time before looking like a squashed mess and a few uses later broke. The worst part is I’ll have to keep buying it because it’s a poor design feature and not a faulty whisk.

This is the original wire whip that came with the mixer. Suddenly after years of use it will not fit onto the mixer, no matter how hard I try. This literally happened overnight from one usage to the next. Nothing is stuck in the space where it attaches and it was hand washed and dried. The paddle and dough hook fit perfectly fine, it's just the wire whip. I would love to purchase another as when it is on works very well, but not only is it out of stock and astronomically priced elsewhere (if you can find it), I'm afraid it won't even fit. Customer service at Kitchenaid was useless and couldn't even offer any help or suggestions on how to proceed other than to order a new one. So now I'm left with a feature on this pricey kitchen appliance that I can't even use.
The wire whisk that came with my Pro 600 is not stainless steel, at least the base is not stainless steel. It oxides, and every time I am ready to use it, black comes off onto my hands and not just a little. The entire base sheds black. I would like to be sent a new whisk that is properly coated so it does not do this. I will post a photo showing the black that I am trying to remove with a paper towel. This happens every time I want to use it.
I have used my Kitchenaid for a couple of years and now what looks like grease or oil has been coming off of the base of the whisk and I can no longer use it. I have had Kitchenaids for over 30 years and this has never happened before. I am looking to buy another mixer for a second house but I truly am hesitating as it's a mess!
I don’t know who designed this but it wasn’t a baker nor was it tested by one. I have use KitchenAid mixers for over 40 years and have always been happy. This product is useless. There are so many wires that by the time you force out egg whites they are deflated. Used it a number if times . Just does not work.
Having to order another wire whip, as one of the wires at the top broke. Though we've only used it about a handful of times, apparently we've have it about 1-2 years, which is apparently past the warranty time. Use has not been for anything heavy, just making merengue and light buttercream frostings, but it still broke; even washed it only by hand. Hopefully, the next one will last longer, otherwise we will need to buy a new one every year or so.
I had the same KitchenAid tilt mixer for almost 20 years. I finally upgraded to the bowl-lift stand mixer. The very first time I used this whip attachment, one of the wires popped out. I was whipping egg whites - not doing anything difficult. Very poorly made.
I bought this mixer a few months ago, since the get go the paddle attachment was extremely hard to get it in. its the correct size but not even greasing it would go it easily. The whip was fine for like a month until the wires started to move, we are using it to whip things like butter cream, heavy cream and batters, it is not like we are using it to whip really hard and heavy stuff. A month ago it finally broke and the whip is completely trash. I had to replace it. I HAD NEVER in my whole life had to buy a new whip for a kitchenaid stand mixer, I feel pretty disappointed, part of me feels like products are becoming cheaper and cheaper with the years.
