I did notice there were some chips on the coating of the beaters, but those can be easily replaced.My mom received her kitchen aid over 35 years ago as a wedding present and it is still going strong. I have been wanting my own, but couldnât fathom spending $450 on a new one. The refurbished was right in my price point. Hopefully this mixer will hold up as well as my moms!

I bought this mixer as a Christmas present for my daughter so I cannot review this actual mixer, but I have had this model for about 10 years and have nothing but praise for it. I use it for kneading bread, making meringues, cakes, and the usual stuff you do with a mixer!! It sits on the worktop and looks just as good as it did when it was new. It is a solid machine and even when kneading 2lb dough it doesn't complain. It mixes well and there are never any lumps of flour or uncreamed butter and sugar. The bowl shield helps to keep a lot of the dust inside the bowl when adding flour/icing sugar, although there is still a little that manages to escape to coat the work surface in a fine layer making it look as though I haven't cleaned in months!! I have been considering buying a KitchenAid for several years and I finally did so at the beginning of April. So far, I am impressed by the machine, though it is much noisier than I expected. The instruction manual though, is very poor indeed. I bought a couple of KitchenAid cookbooks, not for recipes, as I am an experienced cook and baker, but to ascertain the best speed to use for various processes. That helped enormously.So far, I have used the machine to make bread, cakes, sauces, pastry and pasta, all of which have been very good indeed.Today, I used it for a very time consuming chocolate coffee cake, and it saved me more than half an hour in time. The right texture is tricky to achieve in this recipe, but it worked perfectly.So, overall, an excellent buy.

After pining for my own Kitchenaid mixer for, well, decades, I pulled the trigger and purchased a factory refreshed 5 quart tilt head machine in mineral water blue. Well, kicking myself for waiting too long (if you raised kids, you can relate) this mixer is the Rolls Royce of my small kitchen! I have used it twice now for cakes and it works flawlessly, far less noise than I expected and perfect batter in two minutes flat. Bread will be next. I cannot recommend this machine too highly. Don't wait too long to get one like I did!

WOW! This mixer really delivers, makes perfect bread and pastry with minimal effort and great results. The technology used means all the bowl has contact with the attachment which binds all ingredients and doesnât leave any in the bottom. Only been using 3 weeks and made cakes, brownies, pastry and bread. Bought other brands in past, but this is both superior in design and use. Baking is a hobby and this appliance stops it becoming a chore. Highly recommend to anyone considering purchasing.

I hardly used it. I swithered about spending so much money on a mixer but decided to take the plunge and Iâm so glad I did. Itâs never been off since I got it - makes baking a pleasure! Everything can pretty much just be thrown into the bowl and it does its job with little interference. Itâs so quiet and solid and the fact that it looks fantastic is a bonus. I went for the matte grey as I wanted a bit of a contrast in my kitchen. Warning - itâs darker than it looks in the pictures which surprised me a little when I unboxed but I actually love the colour.
