After using a too small tilt head KitchenAid mixer for years, I decided to upgrade to a lift bowl 6 quart version. The difference really is incredible. This mixer holds so much more for when I’m making large batches of desserts, and the power with the lift bowl version is incredible. I can’t believe that I waited for years to upgrade. This mixer is perfect.

I bought this mixer to make bread after having my first kitchen aid mixer for over 25 years. It makes great bread dough!
I have had two other KA mixers. One was a referb. So I wanted another. So far this one is very good. I have no reason to think that things will be different. The bowl is bigger than most and that is a bonus. It has good speeds and power. My other attachments fit it.
Used it to make cakes , great for creaming . Made bread used the dough hook. Very pleased . used whisk to make souffl
We are very pleased with the mixer and the value we got. The attachments we purchased over the years for the smaller tilt-mixer fit this larger model. Quality of construction does not appear to be as good as the 1980 model we are replacing. The bowl is a bit cumbersome/difficult to install compared to the tilt model where the bowl simply twists to lock into position. Overall, though, we really like the mixer. Looking forward to making bread and pizza dough with it.
Originally bought this as a wedding gift for the wife's nephew and bride to be in April, they wanted a 4.5 Qt but I figured I'd get them one a little larger and one that will last for a long time, Longer than the marriage ; ) it did come with the beaters that do not have the coating that tends to flake off in your batter
I know how good this mixer is, I worked as group leader in the machine shop in the mid 70s. We purchased the mixer for our grandson Austin and his girlfriend , had it delivered to our daughter and we are certain they will like it. Great price , great product and free shipping
I've already used it 5 times for cookies, whipped cream and even once for mashed potatoes. Can't speak to longevity because I've only had it for a month-ish. I did purchase the pour shield (not included in the KL model) and the now discontinued flex edge beater (the new one doesn't have a skeleton just the outside spade shape) and it's great. Don't know why they changed the design of the flex edge. But so far it works great. :-) time will tell on longevity. I plan on getting some more attachments. I got it on special with coupon code for about same price as artisan so I'm happy. Probably will get the 3qt and combi whip too. This thing will hold a triple batch of cookies:-)
