This grater is rock-solid in terms of build, but I've found my cheap box grater actually does a better job. I don't know if it's the shape / sharpness of the cutting holes or what, but I was expecting it to be easier to grate.

I bought this grater and I have found it to be handy. It is small which makes it easy to use and it easy very strong and made with stainless steel, so it won’t rust. Great product and great price. Handy tool for the kitchen.

Excellent for grating cheese

Terrific grater, easy to use and clean, thick handle. So far, I've only used it with parmesan cheese. The grater produces broad, flat, curly strips of parmesan which are light and fluffy when sprinkling over pasta.

Good for a short period

This grater is quite magnificent - it grates cheese and carrots very finely - small & soft. You actually use less cheese / carrots than other graters - as it does it so finely. Excellent..... Except after a couple of months use the silicone end is coming off - it leave small bits of silicone on the cutting board, it leaves large black marks on the cutting board. It is disintegrating. Going to look for another grater - WITHOUT silicone. Such a shame, as it grates beautifully, but is not long lasting. Go for an all metal grater instead

To Grate or Not To Grate Parmesan?

I bought this KitchenAid Flat Grater together with several other items in this range, primarily for grating cheese when cooking. I am happy with the quality of the blade and, since it is very sharp, I am really pleased that there is a plastic cover to put over the blade when it is not in use. I am finding it very much easier to grate cheese holding the handle of the KitchenAid Grater than I have found using a box grater. Like all the products in this range, this grater has a sturdy handle, one that I would have assumed would have well equipped it to handle heavy-duty grating jobs.
