The purchase of this kettle has been such a joy. This might seem a bit of an overstatement, but we have had such problems with a series of kettles that the thought of trying again was daunting to say the least! I needn't have worried. Every aspect of the purchase was easy and faultless and the kettle itself - well, we couldn't be more impressed. It looks really superb in our kettle and in terms of features / how it works, it is excellent in every way and any worries I had have all been dispelled. Further, it's brilliant in ways which I didn't even know was "a thing" - for example, it pours really easily; the water just goes where you want, but somehow it's easier than with any other kettle I've ever used. Ergonomically it is perfect in every way and whilst maybe not ... MoreThe purchase of this kettle has been such a joy. I've been using this kettle for about 10 weeks now. I'm pleased that all the parts in contact with water are metal, not plastic, and hopeful this will result in a long working life. I've been frustrated by the short working life of its predecessors and the "throw away" mentality associated with these small appliances.I'm grateful that the designers didn't include the audible signal that annoyed me in a previous KitchenAid kettle purchase (programmable to lower temperatures) and acknowledge that this model performs much better for simple boiling water.I would like KitchenAid to address two aspects I'd rate as deficiencies: the noise level and the cutout on boiling. My biggest "beef" is with the length of time this kettle continues to draw power once the water has reached the boil. It's progressively increasing (currently 18 seconds). Considering the power draw of the kettle and the number of times it's used each day, that's a lot of unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions over a year. It's probably time to descale (KitchenAid doesn't specify a frequency, simply saying that it depends on the hardness of the water used) - another maintenance task for an already busy household! (Why can't they design a kettle that descales itself??!)

I was sooo happy to find a quality kettle that was fully stainless steel on the interior. There is no rubber ring and no plastic window. This is exactly what I wanted from a kettle. The measure and maximum water levels are indicated inside the kettle. But to me, this is a minor inconvenience. I am very happy to not have to drink boiled plastic. I was using a stovetop kettle to avoid plastic. This is a lot quicker! It also looks good and feels sturdy and very good quality.

I bought one about a year ago. It looks great but has this major issue where, after a very short space of time, black discolouration occurs and gets worse as time goes on. The company told me it's due to one not leaving any water behind in the jug after use so it burns, hence the black mark. I assume the element must sit directly under the stainless steel casing for this to happen. The company replaced the kettle with a new one but I have the problem again with the new one. One should not have to remember to leave some water in the jug each time you use it but if you don't, the burn mark appears and cannot be removed. I've never had to do this with previous kettles I have owned. It is also the noisiest jug I've ever heard. And expensive, not worth the price.
I love that the kettle has stainless steel lining rather than plastic, and has an easy-to-clean seamless interior. Quick to boil (we more usually would only be boiling up the equivalent of 1-2 mugs worth of water), it is also a lot quieter than our previous stainless steel kettle which did not have a double wall like this one. Aesthetically it has very attractractive, clean lines, and is not "over designed" like many other kettles currently on the market. If I could improve anything in the design, it would probably just be an address to the loud noise it makes when the lid snaps shut, but this is only a minor point. Overall, love it and am very happy.
Needed to replace my old kettle after the plastic inside literally fell apart after years of use so my must have with my next purchase was a 100% plastic free interior. I can not tell you how hard this was to find, seemed no one offered this and was so glad I came across your product with full stainless steel interior including bottom of lid! I feel so much better knowing there is no plastic. The large handle is very comfortable to hold and pour and love the large lid opening making it easy to fill and clean. Quiet and quick to boil and the double wall keeps water hot.Only negatives are would have preferred if the exterior was metal and not plastic, water level marks would be better on the side rather than on the spout side making it a bit hard to read, water ... MoreNeeded to replace my old kettle after the plastic inside literally fell apart after years of use so my must have with my next purchase was a 100% plastic free interior. Only 3 colours to pick from, would have liked more colour choices like your other products.Overall, I am very happy with my first Kitchen Aid purchase!
I bought this kettle very recently. I decided on this brand and model because of the very high reputation of KitchenAid and because the colour of the kettle is a great contrast for my kitchen. It looks great.Unfortunately, looks aren't everything. While the kettle boils quite quickly, it takes a long time to automatically switch off after boiling. As a result, steam pours from the kettle, saturating the underside of my newly installed cupboards. This is a concern.

Particularly the central essential core of your home - your kitchen to which so much effort was devoted. So many electric jugs have come and gone in my life. Most were very cheap, many failed after varying periods, some looked very stylish but were inefficient, a few just wore out and became dangerous, others were impossible to clean or broke. However all of them were noisy. In the past I had never given any thought at all to this "defect" but now I have a husband who has hearing aids it's become a real issue as the sound of a noisy jug rapidly heating water becomes so intense and unbearable for him he has to mute his aids.It wasn't just the noise of the cheap jug I was using it was also the fact that it looked cheap in my new kitchen he had built for me.So he went on a mission to find the holy grail of jugs and found it in this Kitchen Aid model. It is not only efficient and stylishly matches my Kitchen Aid mixer and compliments the adthetics of my new kitchen in its rich red but imore importantly for us it is very quiet. It has been one of the most satisfying purchases we have ever made.
I got this kettle because it's the only electric kettle on NZ market to have completely stainless steel interior. Invest in your health people. Otherwise it's a big one. Red color is even better then on the pictures. It sounds like a jet boiler, but not too loud. Pouring due to the design can be hard for the ladies with the arthritis in their hands, but I shouldn't complain in my 30s. The lid button could be a bit better but it is what it is. Got it on special. A full price is a bit exorbitant for the kettle nowadays.
I ordered this electric jug and the matching 2 slice toaster and I am so so happy with it!! What a perfect pair! The jug is so quiet when it boils the water, that you don't even know it's on......a very unusual thing in my experience! With just the press of a lever the water is boiled, super quickly, with barely a sound and ready to complete the perfect cup of tea or coffee! The beautiful black exterior of the jug blends in perfectly with my kitchen bench and matching toaster. This is a really classy pair!! Thank you Kitchenaid for another fabulous product.
