I use the juicer attachment, the pasta maker, which i use all the time and the slicer/shredder attachment, which again is excellent. My only issue is the cost of the additional three grater KitchenAid sell, which cost as much as this does new 85 of our glorious pounds. However, i don't think i would use them, so have not bought them. This attachment is excellent. use it at half speed and run for 2 minutes on 1 - or a half speed to deal with residual cheese, veg etc. I love this attachment and bought two thinking the second had difference graters. Used this to grate a whole block of cheese, then put it into zip lock bags to freeze and chill. So convenient!I can't wait to try this on other veges and everything else I can think of. Wonderful investment! One of the more affordable attachments and is super convenient for a range of things, will save us a lot of time.
One of the biggest frustrations we have in cooking dinner is the necessity to grate and slice different vegetables. We bought the slicer and shredder attachment as there was nothing like it in the market that would take care of slicing and grating different vegetables. Carrots now get grated in seconds along with cucumbers being sliced almost instantly. Very easy to clean too. Great attachment, would highly recommend.
I bought this attachment when it was on sale with no big expectations, but it is amazing! I spent 2 days in the kitchen cooking a crazy amount of meals to store in the freezer in preparation for our third baby’s arrival and it saved so many hours. Grated squash, carrot and cheese, sliced potatoes, sweet potatoes and zucchini perfectly, I barely had to do any prep for most meals. Just turn the machine on and pop the veggies in! Definitely the best investment I’ve made for the kitchen!
So far so good!! I have used this a few times now for making fresh coleslaw and grated a load of cheese. I'm glad I used my birthday vouchers and money to purchase the grater however, this is why I have only given it 4 stars. The pricing for accessories and for KitchenAid products in general are high but that said you do seem to get a very well made product and I hope that this and my mixer will give me many years of hassle free usage.
I originally bought a set of these decades ago and despaired with them. However, seeing that the housing had changed and with the lull of three easy payments I thought I’d try them again. The grating disks are the same as my original ones and sadly the achievement was the same. Carrots did well savoy cabbage came our the size of rice with the large grater and on reflection i should have used the slicing disk for it. Am I happier than I was with the original model, sadly not. I’m afraid these will be returned and the original ones consigned once more to the back of the pantry. Disappointed really.
The star rating is for the product, not the service of HoS which is impeccable as always. I did a lot of research before buying this, in the end all the good reviews persuaded me. However, while I’ve seen (on YouTube) and read about people grating cheese and carrots, it can’t seem to grate much else. I needed to grate 3 heads of broccoli and halfway through broccoli head no 1 I was already close to giving up. It just does not grate. Sure enough, it grated my cheddar. But if that’s all it can do, then it is just a glorified cheese grater and nothing else.Again, Harts of Stur are amazing and I’m a repeat customer. Always quick despatch and competitive prices, love it.
I have plenty of lemons, thought the slicer would be great as I wanted to dry them. Turns out the slicer cuts them way too thin that I finished up cutting them by hand, don't know how I will go with other fruits & veggies but disappointed that there is not a thicker slicer option also. Will have to check to see if I can purchase the other 3 blades to make it worth while. I also found that the slices flew everywhere except in the bowl.
