I have purchased multiple covers for my Kivik Sofa over the last 5-6 years. I have always bought the Hilared Beige, but the most recent cover I bought is not like the others. It felt soft and looks like it would hold up like the others did, but when I took it out of the box, I noticed it was very different from the last cover I purchased. The backs of the seat cushions were grey so I can't flip them over like I could with the last cover. It's too big for the sofa, so looks sloppy. I have 2 dogs (I have had 2 dogs for the last 5 years) and this new cover couldn't hold up to them AT ALL. The old sofa cover lasted me 2-3 years, this one is only 2-3 MONTHS old and looks horrible. I wish I would've ordered a different one from Etsy or something.

Since the cushions themselves aren’t flipable I would take the cover off flip it and put it back on if we spilled something or a stain showed up on the couch saving me from having to wash it right away. Now a few weeks after having the new covers in place a little stain showed up despite being extra careful with these new covers and the only option I am left with is to take it off and ... MoreWhile putting the bottom cushion covers on, after having put the covers on the bases and the back cushions, I discovered that the bottom cushion covers only have one side that can face up!! I have the corner sectional with loveseat attached. On the plus side the cover has a pretty herringbone weave and feels softer than my original cover. Though time will tell if I get too frustrated with this cover and it goes back to IKEA!

LOVE IT!! So Comfy!!

Nearly perfect! Big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids to layback or cuddle up.Small things to nitpick...I wish they sold covers separately, and wish they had more selection of slightly softer covers. The dark grey is fine and the fabric looks like it will last long enough, but if the fabric were just even slightly softer softer, it would 1000% more perfect. Taller legs would make it easier to sweep/vaccum under, but changing legs is an easy fix. Also, I like to customize my furniture, so I would love it if IKEA made the seat width just a bit wider so I can add a small trundle mattress under it and make it a sleeper.

So many flaws
5 April 2023

Firstly I have been using the kivik sofa for less than a month and the fabric started piling where I sat after the first week!Secondly, the cushions somehow slide a bit off so that when you sit you feel like you will slip off.Thirdly, the cushions are already sinking despite me rotating it. This really shouldn’t be happening so soon…Fourthly and maybe it’s just a design flaw but it’s structured too low. I’m on the short side height wise and still when I go sit I feel like I am aiming to sit on the floor (you will know once you try this couch of what I mean). Stuff still get stuck underneath despite it being so low on ground. For reference I have had my fair share of couches and by far this is the worse. Some have lasted years without a single rip or pile forming… ... MoreFirstly I have been using the kivik sofa for less than a month and the fabric started piling where I sat after the first week!Secondly, the cushions somehow slide a bit off so that when you sit you feel like you will slip off.Thirdly, the cushions are already sinking despite me rotating it. So uncomfortable!
28 November 2022

We have an older Kivik in our family room and still love it. When it came time to purchase a new sofa for our living room, we didn't hesitate in considering another one.The store sample seemed fine. The beige covers have been out of stock for ages, so we settled for light gray. We've found this new version to be the most uncomfortable sofa we have ever sat on. The cushions have been over plumped, and are very bouncy. The older Kivik has more memory foam I believe. This sofa gives me neck pain, and I can't sit upright. I can't get comfortable. My husband is 6'1" and he has to put two pillows behind his back, not because the cushions are deeper, just because he needs the extra comfort. As an experiment we moved our older cushions to the new frame. Total difference. The whole sofa looks saggy and unkept. The cushions aren't particularly straight. They can't be flipped (unless you remove the entire interior and flip it). Certainly not the quality of the older version.

So upset, $1800 for a couch I can’t use
24 January 2023

I’m so upset. This has been the worst experience ever. Couch did not arrive when scheduled, had to take a day off work to wait for delivery. Ottoman cover was too small and ripped at the seams. The sofa covers wasn’t in stock (even though it said it was available before I purchased the couch) after attempting to assemble the sectional, I became very upset because the replacement covers is not just for the couch, its for the cushions and arm rests as well. Now I have a half green couch and the other half looks like a diaper. The cover is not available, out of stock, and on back order. Now I have to either buy a different color and have two colored couch, or remove all coverings and return it to choose a different color, but none of the covers are in stock. I’m so upset, I hate this couch I hate IKEA, you took my money and now I have to return everything because you don’t have the correct support products.

Total downgrade from the old Kivik. New Kivik sucks.
1 August 2022

I had the old Kivik which unfortunately broke twice in 5 years and it has been replaced (for a second time) with the new Kivik, so I can say with some authority that the new Kivik sucks. There are some improvements, but goodness me is this thing hard. "Firm" doesn't even describe it. You would be more comfortable laying on the floor. This thing is HARD.Not only that, but I am fairly certain it is thinner too.For a $700 couch you'd expect something at least half decent but you are better spending your money on something else. One of the big improvements I will say is the armrests are a bit lower, so you can actually lie down on this thing if you are over 6ft.It also feels somehow "cheaper". Very stylish and comfortable
18 March 2023

Tresund light beige loveseat, I am very happy with my purchase. The seating is very comfortable, I initially thought that it would be seated a little too low, because I have knee problems, but that is not the case. It also is medium hard, not too soft that you sink in yet you can comfortably sit keeping your back leaning as well. The fabric is just fantastic. It is more cotton but very sturdy. I thought it would be close to white, but it is a light beige that goes with my shiny white Besta Sesviken High Gloss TV unit, oh so very stylish. I threw on a couple of the white plush Gulviva plush rugs, one for the cat and one on the arm rest. It looks heavenly!

firm AND comfy
14 March 2023

Got rid of a recliner sofa from LaZboy b/c it hurt my back. It was too deep and a little too squishy. This KIVIK is firmer, but not rock hard. And the depth is similar to the old sofa, but with the firmer cushions, it isn't hard to get out of and doesn't hurt my back. I've also napped on it several times, and was very comfy. I love the wide arms and got those IKEA arm covers (like little strips of joined wood) and it's really great to have all sorts of things sit on there without falling. The arms themselves would also support that, but I don't want them to get dirty. Overall, a great change in our home - especially with the matching ottoman! The only con was getting the covers on the sofa itself and the cushions was no easy task!

love the feel. cover not great for lots of use.
10 December 2022

we bought the kivik sofa and love seat in february 2022. we love the look, feel and overall performance. we use these couches every day. they are in our main living space. we have two kids and 2 dogs. for the most part, the furniture can handle it. however, i have to work on the back cushions weekly to maintain shape. my tween loves to sprawl along the couch. we got the hillared covers and they pull really easily. i have to remove the covers every other week to fixthem. i don't know how long they will last before i replace the covers. i did a lot of reading and dog owners swore the couches could handle everything. it's not a deal breaker but definitely something to consider.
