Klein Tools part number 11061. The Klein Tools Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper / Cutter takes the guesswork out of stripping solid, stranded, and Romex wire. As the name suggests, this tool features a self-adjusting stripping head for quick, precise wire stripping. It's especially useful in panels and other places where multiple types and sizes of wire are present. Great for HVAC applications.

I brought this Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper for the first time on this new Project that we had just started. The 5 other co-workers had the typical wire strippers to strip the small 22 gauge wires for the switches were installing and having a difficult time cutting into the conductor. i was all done with 2 switches that had 3 wires each, while they were still having difficulty on the 1st switch. they asked me if they could try this Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper, and they never went back using there's. They said to me this is the tool that they want to have and use from now on, So I just ordered 5 more from Home Depot again.Thank you,DanDan

I've been routinely using wire strippers for over 35 years. Tried several (more than half-a- dozen) auto-wire strippers of very similar design, but all fell short of my needs and expectations. I use them for very fine work, as well as household wiring (ROMEX 12/2). The Kleins can easily strip 26 AWG solid wire without breaking it, as long as the tension adjustment knob is dialed all the way counter-clockwise (towards the minus sign "-"). When stripping ROMEX, once the outer sheath is removed, both insulated wires can be stripped at the same time. The built-in wire cutter is sharp, and can cut ROMEX 12/2 easily. I agree with another reviewer ("Wahduh") that these are better without the crimps - I use dedicated crimpers when I need to. The Klein 11061 strippers are very well made, and work wonderfully. I highly recommend them.

I saw these tools being used in a diy video on YouTube. I bought them to help with wiring my irrigation system. They were very easy to use and stripped the wire sheath clean without damaging the inner wire. This allowed me to have less waste and easier splicing with clean connections. These will be my go to stripping and cutting wire tools from now on. Best part was they cut various size wires without having to adjust the tool or figure out which stripping hole to use.

I've been eyeing several brands and researching auto strippers. My wife knew I liked klein products and ordered me one for my birthday in July of 24'. Well, they don't adjust very well. The stopper has to be fully extended to have the best chance with 12 Guage wire, but it doesn't stay in place, and it's not a guarantee it'll work. It's very touchy, and the adjusting screws won't stay adjusted. I'm really disappointed in this one and expected better out of this brand.
I'm a DIY and had to deal with outlets, light switches, ceiling fans, speaker wiring etc.Use to splice wires with a razor. It was awkward getting the right length and dangerous if I slipped and cut myself. Not with this tool. It'll cut the wire to size and remove the rubber protector from the wire with the greatest of ease. It has a guide to splice it to an assortment of sizes. Easy peasy. Highly recommend to the self home do-it-yourselfer.
It's Klein, solid quality. All metal construction, sturdy, adjustable. I've stripped everything from 12/2 to 18g. A drop of oil on moving parts every once in awhile and it should last an average guy a lifetime. If you feel you need something better, Knipex is a superior German manufacturer. That being said, to actually upgrade your in the $100, more like $150+ range. Make sure you leave Knipex out on your workbench so your friends can see them and loathe you.
I bought this two weeks ago to trim out a house - had high hopes, but it is underwhelming. On #12 and #14 wire, the stripping blade sorta grabs the insulation and just stretches it until it breaks, instead of cleanly slicing through and removing. Sometimes it doesn't even break the insulation, and you just end up needing to use a knife. This tool is way fussier than using Klein 1011-style strippers. The wire bends / pushes past the adjustable stop, resulting in inconsistent stripped lengths, and the tiny knob that is supposed to lock the stopper into position refuses to stay tight. This means the stopper is constantly flopping around, making the length-stop basically useless. I can get it to stay tight if I use pliers to tighten the knob, but the 12 / 14 wire ... MoreI bought this two weeks ago to trim out a house - had high hopes, but it is underwhelming. On #12 and #14 wire, the stripping blade sorta grabs the insulation and just stretches it until it breaks, instead of cleanly slicing through and removing. I can get it to stay tight if I use pliers to tighten the knob, but the 12 / 14 wire still manages to bend around the stopper anyways, since there's a gap. This is not the all-in-one tool I wanted. I need pliers to tighten the length stop knob, another set of strippers or a knife to remove / clean up the stripped insulation, and a pair of side-cutters to trim the exposed copper to length after the wild variation caused by the lousy length setting.Waste of $29.
I've been using the 8-1/4 in. Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper and Cutter on a few home projects, and it's been a game-changer! As a DIYer, I was tired of fumbling with manual strippers that sometimes nicked the wire, but this tool takes the guesswork out. It easily adjusts to different wire sizes, so I can quickly strip 12 and 14 gauge Romex without switching tools or settings. It feels comfortable in hand, and even after an hour of rewiring outlets, my hands weren’t tired.
Just started a project requiring soldering on LED light strips. Using 4 conductor, 22ga. ribbon cable, and I have to join a dozen of these four conductor ends. Thought I'd take a chance with this Klein stripper, since other tools they make work so well. Was NOT disappointed! Work absolutely perfectly for this application, stripping four wires simultaneously, exactly the length I select, without nicking them or slipping on their insulation. I'm looking forward to trying these with heavier gages, and feel certain they'll work just fine. Great buy!
Being an old dude, I have been stripping wires for a LONG time. This tool is totally amazing! It strips any type of wire (solid or stranded) with no problem, no cutting against my thumb (my thumb thanks this tool), no sliced strands in stranded wire. The depth/length of the stripping is adjustable. I don't know who invented it, but I would have appreciated it 50 years ago!
