I had been using their IR5 for years, but this little guy is now the go-to thermometer! It is about 1/3 the size, and fits in my shirt pocket. It does everthing I need it for flawlessly. Perfect temperature probe for the kitchen. There are many cheap kitchen and workshop temperature probes available. Glad I purchased this one for our kitchen. Very accurate ... both the probe and the non-contact sensor. My daughter saw it in our kitchen and had to have one too. Bought her one. Purchased this to do Home Inspections and it is PERFECT for reading HVAC return and supply differential. The flip out probe resets all readings so make sure you make a note of any readings you took with the Infra-red laser. The probe easily hooks inside a register to get an extended soaking temp and the temp differential feature keeps me from having to do even the simple math. Would love to see this in a pistol style with a probe to be able to see the display when I take a pic of the register temp for my report.

The accuracy is nearly 4 degrees Fahrenheit low in the probe. Tested it in my mouth. I'm healthy and a real thermometer shows me mid 98 degrees. This probe said mid 94 degrees. The accuracy on the infrared is also off and to the low side. I tested it on my 3d printer hot end and the heated bed.
