When I received this newest version of the anti-yellowing shampoo, I was so disappointed. One of the main reasons I purchased this particular anti-yellowing shampoo from Klorane was because of the lack of purple in it. Plus, it smelled wonderful. Seriously, it was a pleasure to use because of the smell. Not only does the purple one not have the same scent, it is not of the same quality. My hair isn't looking or feeling like it did while using the non-purple shampoo. Also, when using the original, non-purple version of this shampoo, I was constantly getting compliments on how pretty my hair was and they asked what I used on it. Now, I receive very few compliments, and no one has asked what I use on it. In my opinion, and from reading similar comments from other users, the leaders of this company should at least consider bringing back the non-purple version as an alternative to the purple one. Just for the record, I will not be purchasing this purple version again. Klorane, PLEASE bring back the original anti-yellowing shampoo.Lynda L.

Over the past thirty five years I have had occasion to purchase Klorane shampoos for a number of years. When my daughter was young, she was crazy about swimming, but all those hours in the community pool as a small tow head girl on swim team and later as a teenaged synchronized swimmer, led to lots of discolouration from chlorine. All swim moms knew to use Klorane Camomile shampoo to counter the effects. It worked beautifully.A few years ago when I decided to let my naturally dark hair go grey, I looked to Klorane for a shampoo to keep it bright. I found Centaury and loved it. I even convinced my husband to use it. No small feat. I recently bought your new blue formula and I am not a fan. This shampoo F4209 has a Grey/Blue cast which requires a great deal of rinsing to reduce but not completely eliminate. It was purchased only because the desired shampoo F4144 was not available. The Shampoo F4144 is excellent, providing Shiny Silky White hair. Often received Complements, many surprised that a Shampoo was so Effective and Nurturing. Hence My Hair was a Great Advertisement for Your Product.Would appreciate being able to exchange any remaining F4209 for 4144 when available. Order was for 8. Have so far 6 left.Am hoping that this Complaint is actually Noticed and that the above exchange is seriously considered and facilitated in the future? Nothing good to say here. White "Anti-Yellowing Shampoo with Centaury" was good and very pleasant smelling, so let's now turn it purple, mix up about 20 mostly-unpronounceable chemicals, (centaury way down in the list as "flower water", the white had "flower extract"), give it a horrible chemical smell, and call it the same name as the white shampoo. What an improvement! And I had to buy twice as much as the white shampoo I had been buying and using for many years. Does the purple work? After over two weeks, I don't know. Total waste of money in my opinion, going into the trash. It will be interesting to see if this review sees the light of day! If not, I'll post it somewhere else.
I’m sorry but the new version doesn’t make my silver/white gray hair look white but rather an ashy gray and purple ish if used consistently. The purple version is much like most purple shampoos. The anti yellowing and whitening benefit of the old formula worked. I’ve found nothing else on the market that compared. PLEASE PLEASE reissue the old formula. Everyone I had recommended it to always loved it. I got great compliments on my hair when using it. Miss it so much.
I give this ZERO stars. Klorane has changed the formula and ruined this previously fabulous shampoo! There was no need to add violet and other ingredients. For years I have used the previous formula which did not contain violet but was a beautiful white formula. It previously was wonderful for my gray hair and kept my hair soft, shiny, no yellowing or brassiness. With this new formula my hair felt dry, brittle and was breaking. I returned this awful product to Ulta and will no longer recommend this product unless the original non-purple formula is again available. Please bring back the original formula!!Until then, I am again on a search for a product that works for my gray hair-Klorane’s new purple formula is not it!
The new purple shampoo that replaced the white version for grey hair caused sores on my scalp, smelled bad, made my hair smell bad and made my hair greasy and dingy. Why did this company stop making a very good, popular product and replace it with a poor product that harms its customers? Please post the name of any replacement for the original white version of this shampoo if you have found one. The purple shampoo should get negative stars and does not deserve the one star I had to give it to leave this review
I do not understand why Klorane eliminated the white centaury formula, which was brilliant. Perhaps this blue-haired-old-lady tint is satisfying to some, but it was a disaster for me, harsh, took away all the highlights and shine, and turned my hair a dull gray from what is a bright white. A smarter Klorane would have understood that they are charging full speed into the largest global demographic: baby boomers--and instead of closing down an amazing product they should have instead devoted a few minutes to promoting it. I had to do a lot of digging to find the white shampoo with centaury precisely because Klorane never marketed it in the least.
Don't know why they would change the formula when it clearly worked for people with white or platinum hair. The reason why I do not use any purple shampoo is due to my porous hair capturing all the hues/dyes of the purple color. This in turn, makes my hair have a grey to dark grey and even purple tint; this is not the look I am going for. My hair is white and platinum for a reason. If I wanted to have ash hair, I would buy purple shampoo all day. Please, I beg you 🙏. Bring back the old formula and keep your purple line if you have to.
Bought it bc the reviews were mostly good and there were no bad ingredients, and I had just gotten full highlights, so I needed a purple shampoo. I normally use the Wella Blonde Invigo Shampoo and I love it, but I wanted to try something new. It left my hair so dry that my hair was in a huge knot while/after applying the shampoo (like a rats nest) that took almost an hour to detangle in the shower with a SO much conditioner. It kind of reminded me of Dr. Bronners Pure-Castile Liquid Soap; it has all these great natural ingredients but its super drying for my dry skin. I think the purple worked, but I didn't even pay attention to that because it was the worst shampoo period(purple or regular). I only tried it once and returned it. Maybe it would work for someone who ... MoreBought it bc the reviews were mostly good and there were no bad ingredients, and I had just gotten full highlights, so I needed a purple shampoo. Maybe it would work for someone who already has natural blonde hair, but for me, my hair gets super dry when its bleached and this was just a disaster. And I already have thin and not a lot of hair, so when I was removing the shampoo, I had to be so careful to not rip off to much hair with as much conditioner as possible bc my hair was knotty from the roots to the tip. Also, I kind of felt like it was going to leave residue; it didn't feel like it was going to rinse off 100%.
