You are now seeing the push button lock on other pliers but it's not the same at all. These pliers are far superior in design in many ways that you will notice and will make a difference every day on the job. The push button you push it, slide it, it locks and it stays. They are thin making it easier to grip something in tight spaces and yet strong. I was surprised at how wide the jaws open especially the smallest size. If you use pliers a lot they are a must have. I don't usually write reviews but in this case felt the need to. Excellent tool.

I do refinery work and have used a 10 inch pair for threaded pipe connections, tube fittings, nuts, bolts, all types of screws, including allen head screws/bolts that are round, even stripped out phillips screws at weird angles. These can replace your pipe wrenches, flange wrenches, box wrenches, allen keys, screw driver and of course your current set of channel locks etc...doesn’t matter if the bolt is stripped because these things grip everything. I suspect I could climb a flag pole with two 12 inch pairs of knipex. Best tool on the market.

I love Knipex stuff in general. These are great little utility pliers. The locking feature saves time and your knuckles. Great grip with the deep serrations on the jaws (be careful with that- you can ruin expensive stuff).

If you're reading this you have probably read other glowing reviews of this product. They were all true. These things are amazing. They grip like a pitbull with lockjaw and adjustments are smooth as can be. My only regret is that I didn't discover Knipex earlier on. All that profanity directed at inferior tools over the years could have been put to better use. Bad drivers, lazy contractors, people in crosswalks, and parents that bring babies to late night movie showings. The list could go on forever.
Knipex so impressed me with their wrench pliers, I tried these as replacements for a two year old set of IRWIN slide adjustable pliers, which have been pretty good. Good, but these are better in almost every way - I think the IRWINs with their two-part comfort grip, and larger adjustment button are both more comfortable and easy on the eyes. But both independant tests and two months of my own use show these are stronger, thinner and therefore access tight work problems surprisingly better, and the best part is how they hand finish including sharpening teeth which are then very case hardened. My IRWIN teeth didn’t have the same grip, and immediately start wearing down. Lets just say that I accidentally left the larger one in this set on a truck that left the shop this winter. I tracked it down to the yard where it parked after a 15 minute search in the freezing windy cold just so I wouldnt have to wait for its replacement. These are irreplaceable when you need them. Nice and light, slim design, and strong as hell. I dont like to keep my tools spotless so I like to get things that wont fall apart after a bit and these absolutely do not dissappoint. These are wonderful. Do yourself or the mechanic in your life and get them these.
These German-made cobra pliers are top of the line in fit, finish and function. They feel great in your hand and are perfect for many gripping tasks. I would definately buy again, but I doubt I will ever have to unless they walk away... Everyone wants to borrow, but these don't get loaned.
These are a great set of pliers. They feel good in the hand, grip super well and make tightening or loosening so easy. They are a little on the more expensive side but they are definitely worth it. I’m an electrician apprentice and they have worked well for me.
These pliers, when used in the correct orientation, actually tighten their grip as you try to loosen a nut or bolt. This alone makes them worth the price. The quick adjust jaw opening is also quite handy. They have a better grip than traditional channel lock pliers, and are far faster to use than vice-grips. I wish I had bought them 10 years ago.
You pay for quality and it lasts. German made means these are designed all around. Lightweight, they do not pinch the inside of your hand like channellocks do. And they can even handle being stood on. Quick snap keeps the size locked in place. Ergonomically designed to a tee. Only reason I'm repurchasing these, my old set was lifted out of my tool bag at a job site. They didn't bother taking anything else in my $400 worth of tools in bag just my two Knipex pliers. Bought my first set in 2010. 2017 stolen out of my bag. They looked as new as the day I got them. Take care of your tools and they will take care of you. Knipex maybe expensive but they will last you a life time.
