I can’t say enough good things about Knipex tools. I own a set of cobra pliers that I purchased a couple years back, and I seem to find a reason to use them as often as I can. So when I decided I wanted a new pair of needle nose pliers, I searched for Knipex, and wasn’t disappointed. I really like the form factor on this tool. The narrow jaws on these pliers make getting into tight spots much easier than other tools. 5 stars. Worth every penny you spend.

I primarily use needle nose pliers to twist and tighten stainless steel ties and wires of various gauges. ALL needle nose pliers I used in the past get screwed up after just a few twists which put a high lateral load onto just one tip which usually bend out of alignment. Knipex needle tips do twist and get out of alignment under high load, but always go back to their original shape without deforming unlike others. I find this quite fascinating. It's not the strongest needle nose pliers (Snap On is stronger), but this plier seems to be designed to twist and bend under load, and to go back to its original shape and alignment without bending. Snap On pliers are much harder to bend, but once they twist, they are bent permanently. Knipex is a great German brand. The quality is really high. That being said, it doesn't seem that these are too much better than my Channellock brand long nose pliers if at all better. I don't regret the purchase of any Knipex tools though. The "Pliers Wrench" and "Cobra" adjustable pliers are great. It is the unique Knipex tools that are more impressive. Maybe buy the long needle nose pliers from Channellock and save the money for the unique Knipex pliers. Or maybe keep them all Knipex so they match :)This is high quality and matches those but is pretty similar to slightly less expensive Channellock long nose pliers. If the price doesn't bother you, these are very nice.
Man, I gotta hand it to them, they are almost as good as Americans. Just magnificent craftsmanship. Everything about these pliers is perfect. The steel, the machining, the fit and function. Those guys are good.I am a patriot. I will spend the extra money to buy American. But if I can’t find exactly what I want from an American manufacturer, my second choice is always German. I have a number of Knipex tools and every one is excellent. These are the best needle-nose pliers I have ever used.I was machinist for nearly 35 years and I do know a little something about tools. These are the ones to buy.I still love my country more than I can even say, but I really like German tools.I very highly recommendMade in Germany ????(did I mention that? lol)Thanks for reading
Ruggedly built with high level of precision. The tips join perfectly to give outstanding grip on wires and such. The cutter edges are sharp and mate very closely; affording precise and complete cuts. The plastic handle covers are soft yet durable.
Ever since using the cobra channel locks, I've been a fan of Knipex products. They make quality tools and this is no exception. The length is nice, good for getting in there and holds a solid grip. The handles have a smooth coating which is a little slippery but overall a great tool
Knipex makes great tools. My Klein with wire stripping hole and crimper is real sturdy but the jaw is quite thick and not useful in fine work, kind of defeating the purpose of a needle/long nose. Despite being made in Germany, Knipex is probably the best value in electricians tools, although Harbor Freight with its new line is showing a lot of promise.
These are very well made pliers. But there’s just too much flex to be ideal for one of my daily primary uses; caving in/twisting out box knockouts. I’ll definitely keep these around for the slimmer profile and tips to get into tight areas. But the rigidity of the Klein’s are more in line with my day to day use case on the job as an electrician.
These are, by far, the best. No question. Made in Germany. A superior grade of steel. The jaws hold up to literally -tons- of abuse. The cutting edge eats through whatever I throw at it. I use these for just about anything- without hesitation.I have had dozens of needle-nose pliers, long nose, curved, etc. They are kind of a staple to everyday tinkering, fixing, adjustments, for the shop, home, auto stuff- it's immensely useful. These are definitely the best I have ever owned.
