I have 2 pairs of these, 180mm and 300mm. The 180 is in constant use and I love it. This 300 doesnt get used nearly as much, but it is extremely useful when it does. They are a little fiddlier to adjust than a standard adjustable spanner/crescent wrench, but they clamp tight in use, taking up all the play. Much kinder to your nuts.

Knipex adjustable pliers are similar to water pump pliers except for the fact that they have double acting force on the jaws. They can be used to crimp large terminals and to loosed hex head bolts and nuts without damaging the hex head because the jaws are flat and pwrallel to one another. I bought multiple sets for home workshop, garage and wife's tool box.

So if crescents are ineffective that forces you to carry metric and English sizes...all of this is inordinately frustrating. The knipex tools adjust and stay where you want them. what’s more since they are pliers your grip can close down to make contact if guessed too big. These offset pliers are truly a freak of nature since you can reach nuts/bolts squarely without being in line with them. I have a growing number of knipex tools, and i can safely say that none have disappointed. I wish they were less money, but i have to say buying huge lots of average tools is gets old. I am one of those people who has bought several 200, 300, and even 400 piece tools sets over the last 20 to 30 years. As a result my tool bag would be called a mutt because i have so many breads??. Over that same period i have strategically added more and more high end tools - and i find that i go to them - the tool kits are great for making sure you have all the possible sizes you need, but the great tools are the ones i reach for first.
Tell your trusty thumb-detecting-nut-rounder to visit your grandpa in hell, and drop a chunk of your rent on these in a 10" and a 7". You'll be the envy of your job site. Your ex girlfriend from high school will call you and tell you she messed up. Your mother might finally quit her drinking. Well, probably not, but she'll be mighty impressed with how quickly you fixed that plumbing under her sink. Anyway, this is a beautiful and excessively useful wrench that has launched me into a lifelong relationship with Knipex. If I ever lost this tool, I'd replace it quicker than my tears would dry. I still think the use of an adjustable wrench, pliers, or pliers wrench on a fastener is only acceptable due to the necessity of a task combined with the lack of a better option. I see the Knipex Pliers Wrench as a small incremental improvement of the Knipex Cobra Pliers. I would've bought them myself long ago had they only been a small increment more expensive. If you NEED a lightweight adjustable wrench that doesn't slip or mar fasteners then I'd say they're worth it. If not, the Cobra Pliers are less expensive and more versatile.

I gave these Awesome pliers a test drive and 20 minutes later I had all 4 doors off a junked car. Between their reach access capability, power and versatility, These pliers have literally Replaced 2 Entire sets of wrenches so far and I'm going for a third. Knipex should start powder coating these matte black and rename them as their SURVIVAL PLIERS. They have utterly Changed my life by Completely Redefining the way I look at and evaluate hand tools and their intended usages. Simply Amazing.
Knipex makes some of the best and well made pliers in the tool world. They also have a very good warranty. Had a pair of crimp pliers. Mailed them off to knipex received a new pair. I like this brand better than my snap on pliers. Have 8 or 9 different sizes. Great tools.
