Very easy to use. It can be one hand tool. It can effectively cut the soft pipes if you twist the pipe a bit. Even a woman can use this tool (my wife approved.) The locking mechanism seems a bit loose but it is actually a feature. Only light squeeze will release the lock, then use the thumb to open the blade as wide as you would like to. Love it.

Some may think it a bit pricey - But that is part of great quality and made in Germany. Works perfect.
There is a technique to using them but, use them correctly, and they’ll deliver the straightest cut of any ratcheting cutter on the market by far. Not perfect but close enough or better for most applications. They don’t do well on cold pipe or when cutting in a horizontal position. Keep them vertical and actually try to make a square cut, the arms on either side of the jaws will do the rest. Use them right and these things are absolutely glorious. One last thing, this is a rebrand as I understand it and not actually made by KNIPEX. It’s very difficult to find the OEM version in the USA though and won’t save you any money. For us, these KNIPEX branded cutters are definitely the way to go
Theirs a small washer that is extremely crucial for these cutters. The thumb screw on them comes loose as you cut pipe and it came off one day and the washer fell off the scaffold. They worked for a bit without it. I just had to hold a screw in place with one finger while cutting. But today they broke entirely. The spring that hold the blade back became loose over time and no longer makes contact with the blade when you open it. Contacted knipex for return and they told me home depot would do it and home depot won't. Hooray
Bought and broke in 1 week to many moving parts and springs how do i get a warranty replacment these were not cheap!
