This is a 9 year old Kentucky straight bourbon bottled under Jim Beam’s Know Creek label. Bottled at a very respectable strength of 50%, this is a whiskey that shows its age very well. It is characterized by a rich maple sugar sweetness on the nose, a solid oak influence along with delicious caramel on the palate, and a long and warming finish. A small batch bourbon at the very top of its class.

Bought this just to try a new bourbon. Wow im impressed. Very smooth, i could really get big enjoyable drinks straight upPeople comparing this to a cheap liqour have no idea what theyre talking about. I just bought a 75 dollar bottle of heavens door and it was trash compared to the 45 dollar knob creek. Honestly the 1 star reviews seem a bit harsh. I saw someone compare buffalo trace? Well sure buffalo is different, but you cant always find that.. this bottle of alcohol won an award in 2016 for international competition with spirit. So thats something

I prefer drinking and enjoying bourbon. I like maple syrup since I'm Canadian. I like to drink it neat, however the first couple of swallows were a little too sweet for my taste despite how much I like the maple flavor. After a few days, I start looking forward to enjoying one at night. similar to a desert Bourbon. I'll buy a few extra bottles just in case I'm part of a smaller group who enjoys this one and it sells out.

This is my favorite non-special occasion bourbon. I find it to be a little sweeter than most bourbons, but i do not find it to be cloyingly so. In my opinion that little extra sweetness sort of helps flavors of the bourbon come through more. The most notable flavor I get is caramel. I'm not going to pretend that I get several other flavors; I do, in the sense that there is a lot going on with this bourbon, but nothing I can identify apart from some peppery notes on the back end. It's not exceptionally smooth, especially considering it is 100 proof, but I find it quite drinkable. I like mine neat, without ice. Anyway, definitely worth a try if you've never had it before.

Love my Kentucky Bourbon. Love this whiskey, nice and smooth and easy to find pretty much anywhere, and at a great price. Don't bother spending boats of cash on the more expensive Knob Creek stuff though, this is the one to get. One word of advice though, if you find Russel's Reserve on the shelf near it, buy that instead. Smoother whiskey in the same price range and overall flavor profile is better.
Bright, bold & spicy - I did a head-to-head of 5 or 6 whiskeys I considered cheap enough to use as cocktail mixers, and this came out on top. The only thing I have that comes close for the money is Rittenhouse Rye... I give the KC9 the edge over the Rittenhouse, *and* if you buy the 1.75L it's cheaper per ounce. I particularly love KC9 in cocktails where the whiskey is the main attraction, like an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or Boulevardier (aka "Negroni with whiskey instead of gin") -- its bold spiciness and relatively high proof enhance those cocktails, vs. many whiskeys in my runoff (ex. Bulleit, Elijah Craig SB, Buffalo Trace, Evan Williams BiB) that mostly disappear into the background. An aside: of those I just listed, the EW BiB is the only one I consider ... That's an even better value I always keep in stock... I just don't use it for mixing, it's more of a good "daily drinker" at a substantially lower price point than this KC9.Back to the Knob Creek 9yr: I get caramel apple, floral & nutty notes, plus black pepper & cinnamon that carry through to a long finish. The bold, intense flavor holds up well to ice, or when I'm in the right mood I'll nurse it neat for some spicy drama. My "price-blind" score for this would be ~4 stars (mostly because I'm rarely in the mood to drink it neat instead of in a cocktail), but it easily jumps up to 5 stars when I factor in the price.Highly recommended... at some point I'll try the higher priced Knob Creek offerings, but IMO you just can't beat this @ the 1.75L price.
It reminded me of taking a swig from a bottle of Log Cabin syrup when I took my first sip of Knob Creek maple bourbon. Nearly gaggingly sweet Interesting though, it tasted much better after the third drink as the alcohol began to emerge and balance against the maple. To be honest, I don't consume sweets or appreciate syrupy liqueurs, so the maple flavor may be stronger to me than to other people. I even tried experimenting by adding a little "normal" bourbon and that worked pretty well. unquestionably worth a shot. However, would I repurchase it? Most likely unlikely
On a whim, I took this. Although I like whiskey neat most of the time, I do occasionally create an old fashioned with maple syrup. Although Knob Creek advises adding an extra dash of sugar to their recipe, I find this to be sweet enough straight out of the bottle. Orange peel, Bordeaux cherries, and a dash of bitters—done. Although extremely subtle on the palate, the smoke is there in the nose. Kind of wished there was less maple and more smoke...
Just the last few years I've gotten into whiskey and bourbon even some scotch. More of a whiskey bourbon drinker tried several always trying different brand names and batches. Like knob Creek from the beginning and I always seem to come back to it.The aroma and flavor is fantastic and smells like Maple and oak but does not have a sweet taste which I prefer. Being a hundred proof it has just a little bit more warming sensation going down in a great aftertaste. Never use that as a mixer it's too good of whiskey. This is a whiskey best enjoyed smelling and sipping not drink, mix, or do shots of. enjoy pouring a couple shots swirl and smell it for about 5 minutes before sipping. Try to make it last at least 30 minutes. It's a great nightcap!
This Knob Creek is a good bourbon with a rather classic profile. The taste justifies it's high-$20ish to around $30 price tag, meaning it fits right in the crowds of the likes of Four Roses, Woodford Reserve and Old Forester 100. Although they are different in character, they are all good bourbons in their own ways. The Knob Creek is full bodied with a thick texture. I taste cherry first, and then layers of oak, vanilla, chocolate, and nuts, which lead to a long and moderately spicy finish. This is an easy drinker. I would recommend drinking it neat or with a few drops of water. Cheers!
First, the caliber of the bourbon distinguishes Knob Creek's Maple from other flavored whiskey. The beautiful blend of maple and smoke, combined with the full 90 proof of the knob creek, make sipping this on a crisp October day seem like embracing the new season and appreciating its essence. This will become a new essential in my kitchen. Nothing else quite compares to it!
