In the wake of his retirement from professional basketball, Kobe "The Black Mamba" Bryant has decided to share his vast knowledge and understanding of the game to take readers on an unprecedented journey to the core of the legendary "Mamba mentality." For the first time, and in his own words, Bryant reveals his famously detailed approach and the steps he took to prepare mentally and physically to not just succeed at the game, but to excel. Readers will learn how Bryant studied an opponent, how he channeled his passion for the game, how he played through injuries. They’ll also get fascinating granular detail as he breaks down specific plays and match-ups from throughout his career. Bryant’s detailed accounts are paired with stunning photographs by the Hall of Fame photographer Andrew D. Bernstein. Bernstein, long the Lakers and NBA official photographer, captured Bryant’s very first NBA photo in 1996 and his last in 2016—and hundreds of thousands in between, the record of a unique, twenty-year relationship between one athlete and one photographer.

This book should be read by everyone. The relentless effort Kobe put into his career, family, and faith are inspiring for all. My only added opinion is that I believe Books A Million should be ashamed of themselves. This book has been on their bargain shelf for over a year and now that Kobe passed away it is a full price book. Honor the man, don't try to profit off the death of him, his daughter, and 7 other people. Shame on you Books A Million

I bought this book for my son who is obsessed with basketball (he is 11)I would actually read a few pages each night to him and both of us really loved it. we could talk about what was written and I learned so much about Kobe and basketball in general.

More than just a picture book, this details Kobe's thoughts and feelings during moments of his incredible career. A great coffee table book for any basketball or Kobe fan.
Got this as a Christmas gift for my husband and he was excited to read it. After reading it he was a little dissappointed. Although he enjoyed the content of the book - it wasn't what he was expecting. He wanted to read more about "The Mamba Mentality" and the actual methodology behind Kobe Bryant's approach but the book was more so other people's perspectives/experiences on Kobe.
Awesome inside look throughout Kobe's career. It's an easy and quick read because each page has just one to a few paragraphs with great photography that goes with what Kobe is talking about. I love Kobe and this book didn't disappoint! The mamba mentality is how Kobe attacked everything he did in life and that's why he was so successful. The way he approached life led to him becoming a legend. Kobe is Greatness and the mamba mentality coincides with that.
It's a short read, like a picture book. The photos used are extremely high quality and from a great photographer. Each page Kobe writes a paragraph or two and provides insight into what he's thinking when he sees these photos (usually).
Excellent photography. The content is directed towards fans of basketball, and highly enhoybale for those who understand the game. Rare insights are presented into the mind of one of the greatest human beings in all of sports.
Such a great book! Bought it over the holidays for our son who loves basketball. Such a good book with lots of great insight and info and Kobe is such an inspiration to so many, my son and husband both loved this book and they are not much of readers. Can’t say enough great things about it.
The book is amazing book. It shows his passion and love for the game basketball and kind of let you get into his mentality and how he approached it. (On a side note wouldn't buy it at Books-A-Million, terrible services!)
