We have a pit mix and several other Kong black toys that she has not been able to chew through in over a year that she's had them, so I was hopeful for this one. She chewed through the Kong black Goodie Bone in under 30 minutes. I don't think the middle part of the bone is the "Kong black" material, only the ends. I am very disappointed. Buyer beware.

Ok. Kidding aside, I just couldn't come up with a catchy title. Bear with me, folks. I bought these for my two furbabies to occupy them so I can have enough 'peace' to run the vacuum. My Silky Terrier is fine with the vacuum. My recent rescue, a Jack Russell Terrier-oh there aren't enough words. She has destroyed my door's weather stripping, my kitchen flooring, the bathroom wall and her next proposed 'victim' is the vacuum! This little girl is serious. I've found a Saving Grace with KONG items, this one in particular. I get two small treats (just barely fits in the holes-as the tighter the better!), and force them into the holes with a bit of peanut butter. Leo is an extreme chewing Staffy and after a few days he was chewing pieces off it. After a week, he has it in a million pieces. This is definitely not for extreme chewers. Also, not worth the money as it lasted just as long as the rubber bone from Kmart.When I initially got it out of the packaging, I tried to bend it. And well, it flopped around like a hotdog. Just really flimsy to begin with so I didn't have the highest hopes that it would last very long.May the search for an extreme chew toy continue! Highly recommend the aussie ball btw :) that thing is indestructible
My kelpie mix is a strong chewer, all the "durable" chew toys we tried prior to this were lucky to last a day. We have a kong extreme for outside (coming up to 2 years and haven't had to replace it yet) but wanted something smaller for indoors and this bone is perfect. The first one lasted about 3 months, but that's because we played tug of war with it too and the rubber split in half. The second one she has had for almost 12 months now, has a lot of tooth marks and a few cracks but still going strong. We have a spare on hand for when it eventually does break but definitely the longest lasting chew toy we have found.
My two little 4kg power chewer mutts killed their small red goodie bones so I wanted to upgrade to black extreme. Unfortunately Kong don't seem to make them in the small size anymore. I ordered medium hoping that it would do but my boys aren't as keen on them. They are a great product and Pet Circle service & delivery is fabulous, I just wish Kong would realise that little dogs can be power chewers.
I did not notice that this bone was a medium, which is too small for my dogs. The price of 18.30 for a medium bone is ridiculous, especially when I can get a large bone at Petco cheaper. Will never order this online again. I feel like I got duped. size should have been stated when ordering. Not happy at all.
My girl loves her frozen kong treats, I thought this would be a fun challenge. I found there are only very specific types of treats that fit in the holes on either end of this bone, and the \"tines\" inside the holes grip treats pretty tightly. I froze some wet food and treats overnight, but found my pup was only able to get her tongue a short way into each opening, and could never get the treats from the middle - she lost interest and gave up much faster than the traditional kong. I might suggest this for holding bully sticks or chews, but not for smaller or frozen treats.
my puppy loves these, i have several now since I pack the ends with pet safe peanut butter and some milk bones and put them in the freezer so she gets a fun treat that takes her some time to work on, and she gets to chew, which she loves. lots of tail wagging! a little challenge keeps her going and she's excited when I open the freezer door and say BONE. great product
I have bought many of these over the past two years for our Labrador who manages to chew on it to break the inserts which I therefor replace. It does it's job well enough. It even fits the Dentistix medium size very well and we can force push the larger version into it and that is how our dog uses it. It's his daily routine in the morning.
