This takes gel moisturizer to a whole new level. It’s so liquid-y that if you tip this over, product will definitely run out of the packaging in no time. I think this is a decent moisturizer for people only with oilier skin types. I definitely don’t agree that this is for all skin types, unless you plan to layer it with something else. I have combination skin and I feel like I can get away with using this strictly during the summertime. The ingredients look great and the scent is light and fresh. It’s an okay product; it’s just not very versatile in my opinion. If you don’t have combination-oily skin, I would definitely say pass on this.

A decent moisturizer minus the scent

I received a 15ml deluxe pot of the Active Algae Lightweight Moisturizer in a GWP and have been experimenting with it for a while. The consistency is pleasant and lightweight, as promised. This product works for me as a daytime moisturizer, curbing shine and leaving my skin feeling pleasant. However, I do not care for the natural herbal/marine scent - therefore the reduction of one star. It's not that I abhor all the green fresh scents; in fact, I quite enjoy the scents of the Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser and Air-Whip Moisturizer, for instance. The scent of this just seems sharp, stingy and it lingers. I will use the product up, but would not purchase a full size due to the unpleasant olfactory experience.

A let down

Unfortunately FOR ME this product was awful. 1st, I was looking for something to replace the Primera alpine berry watery cream since that isn't sold in the US anymore. From kora I already have the Noni body and face oil, oil cleanser, eye cream, turmeric mask, and I've tried the turmeric lotion. The products mentioned I LOVE. so I figured I would give this a try for moisturizer. It's terrible. For one it oddly lathers up as you try to work it all over your face. I have to drag it all over (and it just streaks even more green) even when I use a tiny bit, and then even that tiny bit doesn't moisturize enough. Dear Miranda and Kora team, I just used Minty spray Night serum And active algae lightweight moisturiser With mask over the top. It is so cooling for my face! It is so beautiful it just glides on I can feel it cooling my aggravated skin from high toxicity! It’s so alkaline I love it thank you so much. I also used the pregnancy pack on my body to help hydrate my damaged skin from big babies 3 of them over 21 years I’m not even pregnant. Your products are teaching me to move myself and put myself first for the first time in my life! Thank you Miranda I’m drinking water and being a little healthier in every way every day. I am amazed at the difference this is making to my whole mind body and soul including my liver and my thyroid. Blessings beautiful Kora team 💜

Active Algae Lightweight Moisturizer Jar with Pod: 50 mL / 1.69 fl oz

I am 49 and tend to have dry/dehydrated skin. I was hesitant to purchase this new moisturiser because I tend to like thicker creams. I just couldn't resist trying out one of Kora's new products though! I actually love this MORE than the tumeric moisturiser. It feels so light, beautiful texture, but hydrates extremely well and gives my skin a lovely glow after first use. I have small broken red capillaries on my cheeks and after using this moisturiser for a week, you can hardly see the redness. After using, I use a few drops of the Noni Glow face oil over the top. Gorgeous combination. I am happy using this in winter as it hydrates so beautifully without being oily. I would recommend to those who are hesitant to try it. Gentle and moisturizing!

I've enjoyed using the KORA Organics Active Algae Lightweight Moisturizer! It's a dreamy, creamy lightweight gel moisturizer that works well with my combination skin. It's good for all skin types. I like that it hydrates my skin without adding excess shine. I like the scent. It's pleasant. Green algae is a new to me skincare ingredient that I am excited about. I think it's calming and hydrating at the same time. It's gentle on my skin. I use this product morning and night and have noticed positive results and more moisturization. HOLY GRAIL, BABY!

This has become my holy grail moisturizer. I’ve received so many compliments lately saying my skin is glowing. I noticed that my skin looks more hydrated and plump. I do use this with 2 drops of the noni oil. If the price is keeping you from trying the product please do some research! I listened to a few podcasts/interviews about the products and tried for myself. As far as the smell…. Yes. It’s a little earthy but previously I used Biossance Squalane + Omega moisturizer and it does NOT smell as bad as that one. Kim K said she would eat poop everyday if it kept her young and this is definitely not as bad as that. For the results a little stinky face is worth it :)

I'm sold! I absolutely love it!

I'm usually difficult to impress…no matter what it is! Well…I got an instant beautiful glow with this incredible moisturizer! Can’t believe how radiant and youthful my skin looks. I’ve got combination skin and this moisturizer hydrates and smooths, without that annoying greasy sensation. Its a lightweight formula that provides a healthy, I'm alive glow! This is one of the few times that a moisturizer impressed me after the first application. It has an earthy, gentle scent, absorbs nicely, and gives a luminous complexion immediately! To add to an already impressive product...the packaging is elegant and reusable… Conclusion: I'm sold! I absolutely love it!

Not a fan. Returned.

Not a fan. I bought this when it was on sale in the turquoise container because I loved the cute lid design and the fact that it was refillable, however, this product did not mesh well with my skin. I used it morning and night for three weeks, but I ended up returning it because I started noticing bumps and acne popping up and I didn’t want my face to get worse. My face had finally cleared up thanks to Curology and this was causing acne to flare up. No thanks!! My mom said she noticed my skin looked drier too. The smell didn’t bother me as much as some other people, but there definitely was a smell — kind of like old seaweed or old greens, which makes sense considering the ingredients. Also, I don’t think it absorbed well into my skin. I’ll stick to Olay.
