Korg Kross 2 88 Key

I recorded my first album with an Esoniq ESQ 1 keyboard because of the true acoustic piano sound and the 8 trk sequencer. So easy to use and that's the Korg Kross 2 MB 88 2. A straight ahead 16 trk midi and audio recording studio that requires no computer for full feature operation. About 50 pages of manual teaches full basic operations and the rest covers the ton of included features. And the features keep on coming in updates and VSTs available almost monthly. And of course the AMS easy time payments have made it possible to almost complete my studio and stage setups over 3 months instead of 3 years and it will all be paid off in 10 months. Plus I saved enough on pricing that I was able to add a new Gretsch Limited Edition electric guitar to our studio collection. This is the 5th or 6th major purchase from AMS and I have no plans to change suppliers. This is my third keyboard i bought for gig purposes. I have been seeing many good reviews on Youtube. I like this for specific piano atmosphere, synth, and easy to navigate. Also battery powered! It is fast to switch on and set up during critical time. Thank you!

First I was amazed at how fast it was delivered.I hooked up a pair of 8" JBLs and a subwoofer and had some fun. The keys are definitely heavier than Im used too, but I'm getting more used to it every day.I bought this more for my own personal enjoyment and I'm certainly getting that out of it.

Beautiful Sounds and Functionality

Beautiful sounds! Great for live quality music performance. Easily captures song ideas and user settings for studio use. Keyboard action is realistic and responsive to dynamics. Wish there were a dedicated button for key transpose changes during live performance instead of being menu deep in global settings which stops the sound. Overall very happy with the synth!

Overall:This is my second review of this keyboard. I can’t say how satisfied I am with it. I am still getting use to use it as my songwriting partner. As long as you apply yourself, you shouldn’t have a problem. I am blown away by what I can do with it.Most of the sounds are amazing. The action on the keyboard is very comfortable. It is just the perfect all around synthesizer/ workstation for a person wanting to be a keyboardist. It is ideal as a second keyboard. The piano’s are nice and on point. There are so many, the organs stand out. Even though the Korg Kross 2 88 is an amazing workstation, and in my case (Musician going back on the road while working for corporate). I have to say. BUY IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. I just bought this Korg Kross 2 88 that they have on sale some days. I was so excited, and instead of a sale item that they claim to be new. I GOT an USED, SCRATCHED, BLEMISHED, DEMO/FLOOR UNIT. It came in a pretty rough recycled box from a Yamaha MOXF88, with just bubble wrap and a power brick. No manual, no documentation, no nothing. I know, it was on sale, BUT THEN, DON'T SAY IT'S NEW!! Because as a customer I expect and demand a NEW CONDITION instrument. It's a great workstation but it's complicated.

I bought this workstation to replace my old synthesizer keyboard and am happy with my purchase. The construction feels solid, you can hammer down on the keys and not have that feeling of "Ok, take it easy or your gonna break this thing." There are plenty of sounds to choose from and all are very realistic sounding and having the ability to adjust how they sound is a huge bonus for me. The only downside (at least for me) is learning how to operated the functions that allow you to record your own music. There are YouTube videos demonstrating all the functions that the Kross 2 has to offer but it's not what I would call easy. I messed around with it for 3-4 days before I gave up and looked up the YouTube tutorials and even then I'm still scratching my head trying to remember how to operate certain features. Great synth with high quality sounds. Kross 2 is very inexpensive so the had to cut corners somewhere and that would be the completely plastic body however the light weight is an advantage over my Roland RD-800. The low price tag does not effect the quality of the sounds. Pianos are bright and rich, electric pianos are very authentic, great organ sounds, nice bright horns, great synths, great strings. Much better violin sounds than Im used to hearing on about any synth. The weighted action is really good. Im used to the Roland RD so the keys dont feel quite that good but they are good. I havent used the sampler yet but its nice to have in case I dont want to take my regular sampler to a gig. The arpeggiators and rhythm programs are similar to the Korg Karma so Im ... MoreGreat synth with high quality sounds. Korg Kross 2, an excellent synthesizer workstation

This is an excellent workstation. The synthetic tones are quite amazing. The keyboard feels like an actual piano with 88 weighted keys. This unit is professional grade. I love the challenge of mastering it.

Overall:I honestly feel that I have found the best keyboard for my intended use, and so much more. 1.) An excellent choice for learning how to work with a synthesizer, also to perform with one also. 2) An exceptional digital piano ( I have the 88). 3) There aren’t to many other workstation with better features.4,) You can also use it as the center of a home studio. You can tweak the performance of the synthesizer with other studio. I plan to use it and connect it with an Akai Mpc with a good set of studio monitors, and I have my home studio. I won’t need anything else for a personal home studio.
