Honestly this thing is a bass and lead weapon! The Korg Mini700S was an amazing mono synth. I purchased one for a friend for $160 from a Cash Converters in '94! Last I checked the originals can go for upwards of $3500. He still has it and it sounds amazing, so many unique characters. But that bass? Oh my days…! Now Korg have added an input, spring reverb, presets, arpeggiator, pitch and mod joystick, velvety keyboard with aftertouch, CV/gate inputs and MIDI, it's just too sweet. The refurbished synthesiser I bought from Korg UK offers great value, with the reassurance of a full warranty, and represented a real saving over the RRP.
I purchased based on a 'in the know' friend's review that is just sounded great. He is right, it does. It sounds like a warm, dynamic vintage analog synth but it's… NEW! So all keys, functions, sliders, etc work! Yes, expensive, and yes the 'knobs' seem kinda cheap, but the metal enclosure is sturdy, it's hefty and the wood sides are beautiful. I can't think of another reissue that sounds as good as this one. Five stars.
