I have the Accu-cut XL been using it for years now. I wanted to order anti chip replacements but none were available at this time. I had a couple kickbacks and my saw jumpped and cut my track. a time or two. So I desided to buy this to replace the track as well as the anti-chip strips all in one. This saves me money because I replace the track and get the strips for $20 more. It also makes my track even longer If I needed it. This is the best system I found to cut up sheets of plywood by myself. I don't have the space to cut full sheets in my garage. This system is worth every penny spent.

I am a big fan of Kreg products. Unfortunately the Accu-Cut does not make the cut - pun intended. I own the Rip Cut and an extremely happy with the way it performs. I expected the Accu-Cut to perform as well but it came up short in many ways. First, the anti-slip quide tracks did not grip well. I expected the guide to hold onto cabinet grade plywood but it moved. I thoroughly cleaned, vacuumed and de-dusted my workpiece and the guide continued to move. So I attempted to clamp the guide. But the guide is not easily used with my inventory of clamps. It was ridiculous to need to purchase two Kreg clamps at $20 each just to be able to use the guide. Lastly there is a lot of slop in the guide and the cut. How can the product be called Accu-Cut when the cut has about ... MoreI am a big fan of Kreg products. My advice is to stay away from this product if you cRE ABOUT ACCURACY.

Since there is no way to clamp it down it just relies on friction to hold in place while cutting. I could go on and on but folks please don't waste your hard earned money. Buy a straight edge clamp for a few bucks. Use it with a framing square for set-up and make much more accurate cuts.

I have many Kreg tools and feel they are very good quality and provide the expected advertised results. The Accu-Cut is not one of them. If you are looking to simply do long straight cuts with a tolerance of +-1/8th inch, this is the tool for you. If you need truly straight and accurate, look for something else. The issue is the sled base. It is all plastic and the channels are not straight or tight to the aluminum track. I have spend about 6 hours trying to shim the channels but since they vary in width from front to back and to each other it is basically impossible. The solution is to have aluminum channels to the correct tolerance, but that would also make this device more expensive. Overall disappointed and unable to return for a refund. Definitely don't recommend this for most people. I have been able to modify mine to work by machining new clips to hold the saw in place. The ones that come with it are absolute garbage and allow my Porter-Cable saw to shift when using. I ruined a perfectly good sheet of veneer plywood with a very crooked cut. At the current price of $150 a sheet, this was unacceptable.I do have a table saw but maneuvering a full sheet for plywood through it by myself is not a reasonable or safe proposition. This will work with modification as a basic panel saw but I think most will find it not usable over time. Also hated the slotted grub screws that hold the rail together. I have limited space in my shop and no place for the 9' long rail so I disassemble it between uses. The ... MoreDefinitely don't recommend this for most people. I have limited space in my shop and no place for the 9' long rail so I disassemble it between uses. The slots in the head of the grub screws were on the verge of stripping after 2 disassembles. Went down to my local hardware supplier and got hex head grub screws. If you buy one of these, I strongly suggest this modification.
I bought this several years ago and it has been a disappointing purchase. I have relied on Kreg tools for along time for my finish carpentry work. The screws that attach the track rails together came loose several times. 3 of the screws completely disappeared in the van where it was stored. Kreg sent me new screws and advised that I use Locktight to keep them in place. One of the screws that hold the saw baseplate down came loose and disappeared in the truck where the plastic Kreg mounting plate was stored. Overall the quality control on this leaves a lot to be desired. I think this product might be ok for casual use were it is stored in a garage shop and used by a Saturday carpenter and not used by a carpenter who works every day out of a truck.
The set screws for the bars that hold the pieces together aren’t metric and they aren’t standard and the allen wrench supplied doesn’t fit them either. The saw hold down clamps are very poor quality at best. Don’t expect them to hold the saw properly at all. The starter plate is too sloppy and the saw holder moves around on it too much. The hold down clamps are not included, so plan on buying some, it doesn’t sit still on anything but sanded surface plywood. I have bought better quality tools at Harbor Freight. For less money.
Received the Accu-Cut as a X-Mas gift and then purchased the extension track to round out the entire package on a budget. Assembled all the parts, mounting a cordless Dewalt saw and now I am very disappointed in the amount of slop between the guide pieces. No trust in accurate cuts to dimension, at best I oversize all cuts and then size the pieces on the table saw with twice the work. Years ago I assembled and have been using a simple straight edge saw jig, but feel more confident in it, than this $150 device. Every cut, just eats a little bit more away from the zero clearance edge.I go back years of purchasing and using many Kreg items, but now will have to reconsider any future purchases. Very disappointed in you Kreg. Great device for budget concerns, but ... MoreReceived the Accu-Cut as a X-Mas gift and then purchased the extension track to round out the entire package on a budget. Any beginning woodworker knows about track saws and table saws, and probably doesn't own one since they are so expensive. Enter the Accu-cut. This device got me using me circular saw again after years of neglect due to my frustrating inability to make straight cuts. Since it provides some of the functionality of both more expensive tools, it's expanded my abilities and allowed me to focus on buying more wood instead of buying more tools. (Because if you spend all your money on tools, you won't get many woodworking projects done.)For those considering the purchase, be aware: there is a learning curve. (Because if you spend all your money on tools, you won't get many woodworking projects done.)For those considering the purchase, be aware: there is a learning curve. Most circular saws are compatible, but attaching the sled requires precisely following the installation guide. You won't just open the package and start cutting. Plan on studying the instructions and watching a video or two. Next, yes you are actually going to cut off one side of the track edge prior to making your first wood cut. It seems really counter-intuitive to destroy part of the expensive accessory your just purchased, but it's necessary so bite the bullet and do it. Lastly, the track has NO CLAMP. This boggled my mind at first. How will it stay put? Some reviewers here seem to want to clamp it anyway, but a clamp would stop your saw from traveling the full length of the track and greatly decrease its usefulness. Instead, Kreg has installed a grippy base to the sled that holds onto the wood with just the weight of the saw. It's not a perfect system, but keep it clean (I keep my boar's bristle brush handy) and it it works just fine.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! If I could rate no stars I would. This product is by far the worst waste of money that I have ever seen. The mounting block does not lock onto the guide so you need to make atlease 2 marks to line up on. The saw plate slides easily along the rail but also moves about 1/4 in side to side making the blue plastic cutaway guide useless. I wasted almost a whole sheet of melamine trying to chase a perfect cut when finally I broke this product by slaming it on to the ground snapping the aluminum guide rods. Never seen aluminum sheer off like that, I guess I was so upset I gained "Hulk" strength for a second. It was my fault for not grabbing my chalk line and instead choosing to rely on this product 100% and atleast I could have ... MoreDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! I also should have gotten my table saw which is still in storage with my chalk line.I honestly cannot find a good reason to waste you hard earned money on this. Oh sure you can use it to break down sheet goods to then refine on a table saw. But you could easily do it free hand and most likely get a better cut, saving material.I will never buy another kreg product again. You pay a premium price for sub par performance, no thank you.
