The bridge replaces the original Kreg bridge and does a great job of allowing dust/chip collection while drilling for cup hinges, but the one I received seems to have warped after 3D printing. (Maybe due to heat while shipping?) It was a VERY tight fit and wouldn’t mate up initially. I firmly pressed down simultaneously on each of the 3 “fins” while twisting together annd was finally able to get it seated. Once seated it does seem to operate more smoothly. Tested hole location and depth after drilling, all 100%. Prior to this purchase I was holding a small diameter hose between the fins of the original jig, which worked but obviously required some juggling. So far, this does the job and frees up my hands. Great jig!

I bought one of the first Kreg pocket hole jigs 25 plus years ago. They were made of aluminum back then and even though I own the new pocket hole jig, which is made of glass filled nylon and comes in a nice carrying case, I miss my aluminum one. My truck was stolen with all of my woodworking tools in it and that's why I lost my first Kreg jig. If I had the money I would buy every jig or product made by Kreg, I believe in them that much. They make installation and manufacturing a lot easier. If you make any cabinets you will need a concealed hinge jig because it makes life so much easier. Sure there are other hinges available but the concealed hinges are really easy to install. With the use of cams and the built-in measuring scale you can be ready to drill the hinge ... MoreI bought one of the first Kreg pocket hole jigs 25 plus years ago. Sure there are other hinges available but the concealed hinges are really easy to install. With the use of cams and the built-in measuring scale you can be ready to drill the hinge holes in no time and then without moving the jig you drill the 2 holes for mounting the hinge, just make sure you buy a couple of clamps to hold the jig in place while you're drilling. Anyone can use this jig and with a little practice become quite proficient. The drill bit is carbide tipped, not high speed steel, so it will stay sharp a long time and require very little maintenance if you take care of it. It comes with a stop collar so all of the drill depths are exactly as you set them. If you follow directions your friends will think you used a drill press to drill all of the holes, they will be that accurate. So whether you are drilling holes for shelf pins or installing new soft close drawer slides on your kitchen cabinets or finally getting around to putting on drawer or door pulls, Kreg has a jig for you.

I am a huge fan of Kreg tools and jigs. I have many Kreg products in my shop and will be adding the track saw soon. How ever I am a little disappointed with the Concealed Hinge Jig. I am installing Bi-fold corner cabinet door for my Lazy Susan cabinet and needed a good jig to bore the doors with. Without a second I went to Lowes and purchased the Greg jig. The outside door went great, but when I got to the center hinge there was no setting for the 12.5 mm center hinge boring. hope Greg offers Spacers for the this Jigs for other settings.

I used this jig on five doors before the plastic guide melted/warped and caused a hole to form on the side of the door. This is in spite of quelching the bit in water between doors and pausing drilling every 10 seconds (Kreg doesn't even bother suggesting these steps or recommending a specific drill speed). Kreg offered to replace the tool but not the door. The bit guide is garbage, it should absolutely be metal (like their other products). This tool might work on soft woods, but I would recommend avoiding it at all costs; there are plenty of options at the same price point with proper metal bit guides.
First of all, if you are professional cabinet maker or a really serious amateur, you probably have a much more expensive and more versatile version of this jig already, so you can pass on this purchase. On the other hand, if you are a casual woodworker that occasionally tackles building or customizing furniture, this Kreg Hinge Jig is worth a serious look. Euro Style hinges are some of the most common found in today's cabinetry. They are versatile and adjustable enough that you can recover from minor measurement errors made during the build process. Something that a professional would never have to deal with (well, hardly ever), but would be fairly common for a part timer or beginner. Euro Style hinges are some of the most common found in today's cabinetry. They are versatile and adjustable enough that you can recover from minor measurement errors made during the build process. Something that a professional would never have to deal with (well, hardly ever), but would be fairly common for a part timer or beginner. In addition to the jig itself, you will need a couple of clamps to hold the jig in place while boring out the hole. Kreg recommends only using their clamps, but any non-marring clamps will work. The old carpenter's adage "measure twice, and cut once" certainly applies for this product. More importantly, you really need to practice on scrap wood before tackling your final hinge installation. That practice will ensure that you are not drilling holes too deep or far from the edge - neither of which there is a recovery for on your final product. Some folks have complained about the sharpness and durability of the supplied bit and others have complained that the jig adjustments are in 1 mm increments (opposed to 1/2 mm increments). The jig adjustment issues can be solved by either purchasing hinges that match what the jig can handle (the easy way), or by adding a 1/2 mm shim to offset the jig to fit (the hard way). As for the bit, again, this tool if for the casual woodworker. It is not designed for somebody trying to build 200 cabinets out of extra dense wood. For the casual user, the bit should last for several projects before it needs to be replaced. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Kreg Euro Hinge Jig to any beginning or casual woodworker. That will help you get started. Once you decide to step up to the next level, there are lots of choices out there that can meet those needs.
I purchased a Pocket Hole Jig a couple of years ago - HAPPY with the quality, ease of use and the results i my work. Over the holidays I purchased the Concealed Hinge Jig and a bunch more Kregg tools (6 more) to build cabinets, drawers and doors. Upon receivig I was very happy with the Quality of all the tools. Havent had the opportunity to use them as I am in the planning stage for a kitchen and bathroom re-do including all the cabinets. Never done this leel of work before but the Kregg tools have the quality and ease of use the gives me the confidence to go for it. Going to start in the mid-Spring. What fun!!
The purpose of a jig is to produce accurate, consistent, repeatable results. I own and have been happy with several Kreg products over the years. No so with this one. After following the instructions, using 2 clamps and drilling the first 2 holes on scrap stock, I was dismayed to find the holes were not the same distance from the edge. I noted the amount of play in the bit support and the lack of a steel drill bushing. Drilling more holes, I had the same inconsistent results. The bit measures .467 and the jig .482. This allows 1/32” or more discrepancy when you bore the hole. The screw holes were off as well. With practice and taking time to hold the drill as straight as I could, I was able to get better results - almost as good as I get without the Kreg jig and a ... MoreThe purpose of a jig is to produce accurate, consistent, repeatable results. With practice and taking time to hold the drill as straight as I could, I was able to get better results - almost as good as I get without the Kreg jig and a simple hole marking jig. While most Euro hinges have adjustments to position the door into alignment, why start with a inaccurately bored door? With 50 hinges to install, I won’t be using this jig. Kreg can do better.
Bought this to install 26 oak cabinet doors. The guide on the first one melted when the bit overheated while drilling the fifth door. Thought it was because my drill was slipping on the bit causing it to overheat. Bought another one and used a new drill with a keyed chuck to ensure no slippage. Second one melted after about 10 doors. Bought a third one to finish the project on time and was able drill the remaining doors. I was checking the bit after each hole and waiting between drilling to ensure it didn't overheat but the second one still melted. Bottom line don't use plastic for a drill guide. I wish I had purchased a more expensive metal jig in the first place.
I used this jig on 8 replacement cabinet doors. It worked perfectly, no problems whatsoever. I thought it was the next best thing to sliced bread. Today I used it again on 2 more doors and just as I completed the last hole, there was a horrible screeching noise. I discovered the plastic housing had melted and caused the bit to jam in the housing. I've spent close to an hour disengaging the bit, scraping melted plastic off the bit shaft and melted shavings from inside the housing. I think it's back in working order, for however long it will last before it melts again. Sadly, its no longer the next best thing to sliced bread.
I have a pretty long history of woodwork, including cabinetry. Concealed hinge installation is though new to me. I cannot imagine installing concealed hinges without a guide. The Kreg guide made the job easy and efficient. The hinges are uniform throughout my cabinets. Note to those who, like me, are exacting and raise an eyebrow at English to Metric equivalent charts: This is not a problem. Any discrepancy is easily absorbed by the adjustment features of concealed hinges. Good value!
