Lightweight and can lock any of my bikes including my e bike with ease. Most thieves will walk by a bike if it’s lock with this bad boy. Never had an issue and it doesn’t feel like you have an anvil in your bag. Added bonus: the gummy rubber costing is made to add time to an angle grinder by gumming the blade.

Very nice lock and as light as it can be while still being secure. I like the cover that twists over the lock to keep out dirt and moisture. My only complaint is that it's too narrow to fit perpendicularly over my carbon wheels. I like to put the lock around the rim inside the bottom triangle, but I have to angle my bike to get it to fit. Since the lock is small, I often have to resort to just putting the lock around the chainstay. Check your tire and rim depth compared to the inside width of the lock to see if it will work on your bike.

These are a good lock. Step up from the Kryptolok. They are small. To put this through your frame, rear wheel, and around a post is tight. You will be carrying your front wheel with you (or need a second lock). Being tight also helps security (harder to get cutting tools in). If you want your bike to be where you left it, this lock is a good choice, but you will have to find the right object to lock too (secure and small).

The Evolution series is Kryptonite's second best level of security (the New York/yellow series is top), and the best locks they sell per weight. If you need a decent lock, and can't carry something really heavy, this is a great option. They make a larger version as well.Understand every single lock can be defeated, given enough time, or skill and tools by a thief. But having an above average lock, and this certainly is one, increases your chances of your bike not being stolen. I recommend you use this lock (or the non-Mini version, or a NY Standard which is heavy) to lock the rear wheel and triangle to a bike rack. Then, if you need extra security, lock the front wheel with a second lock to the frame, or with a cable to the bike rack as well.
I was looking for a small U-lock that is small and light weight, and this one so far works great. I normally don't leave my bike outside stores or anywhere unattended, so for the few times when I need to go in to get a drink or snack I need a small lock. this one is small and fits in my bag perfectly. I only gave it four stars because I still don't know about long term durability. Some people mentioned the lock mechanism as a problem area, there are instructions in the package where it tells you that the lock may need lubricant in order to ensure smooth operation. Good luck.
I picked up this lock in store and was floored by how light it is compared to my old KryptoLok 2 Standard! And yet it offers comparable or better security, due in part to its small size. (If you're concerned about fitting it around your wheel and frame, research the Sheldon Brown method for locking) Due to its small size and amazingly light weight, this lock is great for jetting around the city, but it also excels for long rides where conserving weight makes a big difference, with one caveat: it doesn't come with any sort of bracket for mounting it on your bike like many of Kryptonite's other locks do. However, I discovered that if you buy Kryptonite's Flexframe-U Bracket, the larger of the two included splines fits onto this lock, rubber sleeve and all. The lock would not open on day 2. A lube an REI employee recommended did not work, but WD40 did. I think it needed the extra propulsion to reach the stuck area. The same thing happened about 5 days later- my bike was locked up and I couldn’t get the lock off. No amount of jiggling or wiggling the key would open the lock. Luckily I was near my home- the WD-40 worked like a charm again. It’s been ok for the last month, but the lock is not the same quality as my 15 year old kryptonite lock, which I still have and is totally fine. There are numerous little idiosyncrasies with how the key turns in the lock. Will be returning this.
I will be keeping this since I really bought it for the size/weight but it honestly seems kinda cheap for the price. It’s proved a little wonky to lock/unlock especially when you lock your frame & front wheel together. Maybe it’s the angle I have it at? Supposed to put the locking end toward ground as a rule... this ain’t really doable since this lock is so small.Another gripe is the “lighted” key it comes with is simply a key with a slip on light. The light CONSTANTLY falls off the key even with very gentle use. Very frustrating especially when the light is needed. Don’t want to be fumbling in the dark.
I’ve used this lock for nearly two years, and it’s perfect if you know your needs. Using the Sheldon Brown method of locking the rear wheel to the stationary object with the lock positioned within the frame’s rear triangle, the bike is completely secured and I’ve been able to lock to every bike rack I’ve come across. No, this lock isn’t going to let you attach to any random tree or light pole, but as a city commuter with racks everywhere, it’s perfectly sufficient even with my large 40mm tires and a rear-rack laden gravel bike. Furthermore I am glad it eschewed the awful mounting systems most u-locks come with, this thing is “light” and portable (as far as u-locks go) so it easily fits in my bar bag or messenger bag or backpack or pannier. For positioning a lock I think most people just need practice, and this is true of any u-lock: larger locks are easier to jack open and are just a crutch for incorrect locking technique. Get this, learn how to use it, you’ll be very pleased.
I used this lock for about 5 months, until one day it refused to unlock. It has always been problematic, and I tried lubricating the lock mechanism with a couple drops of light oil, but it's always felt imprecise and crunchy turning the key. Maybe that's what makes it more pick proof? It was always difficult to unlock with the key, I imagine it's even harder to pick. After nearly having it refuse to unlock, I decided I can't risk using this lock any more. Returned it and bought the Abus 640 lock, which feels super precise turning the key, and has a nice detent feel. Abus 640 was the next lightest U lock I could find, but still weighs 116 grams more than the mini-6. Another thing I didn't like with the Mini-6 is the bent foot, which makes it harder to lock compared to the Abus U which just inserts straight into the lock body. The mini-6 was always just barely long enough and wide enough to work 95% of the time. On occasion the bike rack diameter was too large for the U to fit, and I'd have to lock against a railing or fence.
