Not only is this lock lighter to carry due to its smaller size, but that also means that it gives less space for a thief to use tools (such as a lever or a car jack) to pry it open. Still, it is big enough to be used properly (locking the rear wheel through the triangle) with most bike racks, and some opportune signposts and such. I use mine with Pinhead safety skewers (could use a flex cable, alternatively), locking fairly high value bikes (£1000 to £1800) in Central London, for hours at a time.

These are a good lock. Step up from the Kryptolok. They are small. To put this through your frame, rear wheel, and around a post is tight. You will be carrying your front wheel with you (or need a second lock). Being tight also helps security (harder to get cutting tools in). If you want your bike to be where you left it, this lock is a good choice, but you will have to find the right object to lock too (secure and small).

Krptonite locks are second to none. Although I thought this lock would be too small, I haven't yet had an issue securing the bike. A 7" version would be more comforting for anyone concerned this is on a small size.Found the mounting instructions a bit lacking. But got it done.

Used this U-lock with the Kryptoflex 1007 7' cable and worked out perfect for our four bikes on the northshore rack during our family road trip. Just long enough for our four bikes. Might be able to fit a fifth on the but it would be tight. Very happy with this purchase.
This is the perfect lock. Tough, small enough to fit into my belt (which if you don't know is the best way to carry a lock) but big enough to fit around most poles. I also like that the rubber coverings can be removed, making it lighter.
Not the best with electric bike as impedes the battery, but that's a minor irritation.Good solid lock which I use with a cable to allow wheels and frame to be secured.Halfords employee said to go for this because of the insurance cover it gives you, but you have to pay a subscription for that, so read the small print and don't assume the shop knows best.Seems well made, bike not stolen yet, so guess it works.A lot of money for what it is - suspect there is better value products out there.
Its small size makes it practical to carry around. The mounting bracket is well designed giving you many options for installation. I feel it is secure as well as there is little room to insert ,tools between the lock and the bicycle frame, making it harder to brake.
Reliable lock. Best part is actually how robust the mounting bracket is, I don't need to worry about it falling apart or getting loose on bumpy trails. Small form factor gives great flexibility in mounting location options.
Great high security U-lock. Although it is rated at 7/10 the 13mm shackle and double deadbolt make it a 8/10 to me.This is the perfect size for commuting provided you only want to lock your frame.key replacement program and the theft protection provide extra peace of mind.
