I bought one pair to try out before investing in more of these Kuhl pants. It's very comfortable for every day and hiking. It's hard to find cargo style leg pockets in women's hiking pants, and these fit my iPhone 14 Pro perfectly. My only request from Kuhl is to make these for shorter women. At 5ft2in, these run long on me so I had to hem up about 5 inches in the leg, but as I'm a shorter woman, I'm used to having to hem my pants. The fit is relaxed in all the right ways and the material is soft. I've worn this pair on hikes and for every day use, and they are holding up well. I am now purchasing a second pair.

I bought the size 8 in short, only because the regular length wasn't available in the store. Normally I'd think they would've looked too short on me, but since they're hiking pants, they still sit at a good spot with hiking boots. They fit perfectly around my waist and no issues around the crotch like other reviewers. However, I have a pretty flat butt, so pants fit looser on me in that area since my butt isn't stretching the fabric. I really like how stretchy the pants are, which are great for making bigger/higher steps while hiking. Also, it's nice that they roll up for when you get hot or have to cross through a river. I will be exchanging them and hope that it doesn't happen again.

Comfortable hicking pants for hot/warm/cool conditions. I liked being able to roll up at the ankles when it was hot. They fit nicely and are stylish. The light gray color also looks good and pairs nicely with any top. Could ever wear them out somewhere. The only downside is the size of the pockets. I wish the side pockets were a little bigger. I was able to squeeze my cellphone into it, but I don't have a big case and it was tight to snap the pocket shut. If you have a bulky case, it won't fit. I ended up also buying other designs of freeflex pants from kuhl, all of which are comfortable and have some type of adjustment at the ankles. Dash pants have a bigger pocket for a cellphone, but it does not close. Pluses and minuses everywhere.

I love these pants! Very comfortable and perfect for fall/spring. I have to admit they feel quite synthetic (100% polyester) so I don't wear them in summer - but they are perfect for cooler weather - I would say below 15C (60F). the roll up function comes in handy when it feels warmer (sunny autumn days). I wear them to work as well, they look very decent and not too casual, and even a little bit elegant. It is a really good fit for me - I like they are not tight. their grey colour ("flint") matches with everything, which is super convenient too.
I have not had a chance to wear these pants yet as our trip is not until July. I like the weight of these pants and the fact that they will shed water and dry quickly. However, I normally wear a size 18 & these pants only came in a 16 or 18W. I ordered the 18w, which are very big. I'll be able to wear long underwear under them & still have room. The pants have a drawstring which will help the pants fit better in the waist. I'm 5'2" so the pants are very long. I'm going to try rolling them up to see if they will be short enough; if not I will have them altered. The only color in the 18w was a green, which is OK but I would have like a tan, gray or black. It would be nice if the company had sizes to fit petite, full figured girls.
I’m a biologist so I needed something that would be easy to move around in but also were light enough to stay cool while working in the Southern California heat. I would not take these in the brush because I don’t think they are durable enough for that, but they work well for everything else. These pants are very comfortable, don’t get uncomfortable when I sweat, and seem to dry quickly. But there are a couple things I do not like about them. I am 5’3 so bought the 30” inseam. Which are too long. I have to roll them up twice so they don’t drag on the ground. And because they are too long, I cannot utilize the roll-up part of the pants because when rolled up they sit too low at my ankles. When rolled down, the buttons on the inside hit my ankles. Also, if I wear boots, they get caught up inside of the top of them, which is annoying. I would love to see a 28” inseam option. Also, at the least, deeper side pockets would be nice. Is it too much to ask for women’s pants to have useable pockets? Even with all that, I’d still buy another pair. I bought the coal color, which is great for almost anything. I look forward to getting a lot of use out of these pants, if they hold up as well as the splash roll-up pants.
MAKE POCKETS THAT FIT TODAY’S PHONES!!!Am just dumbfounded that companies are still making hiking pants pockets that don’t fit a modern large cell phone. This is a dealbreaker for me. The snaps on these are especially stupid. Use a zipper, activewear pockets need to be totally secure. Too bad…loved these pants otherwise. Have seen many other reviews about these and other hiking/active pants which mention the lack of phone sized pockets, ESPECIALLY FOR WOMEN. When will companies learn?!? Hello?…anyone paying attention?
This is an update to my previous review titled: love AND hate ... in this case, hate wins!REI offered to refund/return the faulty pants, but they were great pants except for the faulty snap closure at the waistband...too nice to send to landfill. I contacted Kuhl and they took care of me :) Free shipping, super fast service, they replaced the snap closure & now I LOVE everything about the pants. These are NEAR PERFECT pants in many ways, but ONE TEENY TINY DETAIL SPOILS THE SHOW. If you are prepared to replace the snap closure found at the waistband before you start to wear the pants, or if you are cool with doing up your pants in public multiple times a day, these would be a good buy. If not, try a different product.GREAT things about these Kuhl ... I bought these a while ago and have been hiking in them many times, but yesterday's hike made me want to write a review. While walking through an area of a trail covered in leaves, I stepped on a long hidden stick. Who knows how it happened, but the end of this stick popped out of the leaves and hit me right in the shin, causing me to hop, skip, and jump to avoid falling. I commented to my hiking partner that the incident would leave me with a bruised shin. After getting off the trail, I found that I didn't just have a bruise, but that the incident left me bloody and scraped up. While I was left a bit battered, I can only see damage to the pants if I use my imagination and look really hard at the spot that might have endured the stick. So, would I buy them again. ... I tried on at least 20 pairs of pants in the store and this pair I kept going back to. Very comfortable!!! I wore them on trail and when we started the day it was 35 degrees out, when we ended it was about 61 and I was comfortable the whole time! The snaps on the ankle cuffs were not used on our hike but I can definitely see how they would be useful when crossing streams or in very hot areas. We did go climbing through some cave systems as well and they held up good through constant walking on knees, sliding on gravel, and bending up and down. I would say for the price they are well worth it. I am relatively new to hiking and exploring and this is my first pair of true hiking pants and I will NEVER go back.
