Absolute must for anyone who shoots outdoors!

If you want a nice blurred background at f/2.8, even at ISO 100 there's a big chance your image will be horribly exposed. The ring has no actual stops, just continuous rotation, so you can't really keep track of the specific amount of light you're letting in.The filter on my Tamron 28-75 2.8 lens, I cannot put on the lens cap at the same time. Not a deal breaker, but annoying when you want to quickly snap a photo or shoot a video. But for the price, it's hard to argue that this isn't a great buy.

Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical that an adjustable ND filter could really be good. You usually pay more for an ND filter in one strength.I don't use a filter that often, but it comes in handy every now and then, for example when I want to take pictures with an open aperture of 1.4 in the sun or for photos by the water. So I ordered the adjustable ND2-ND400 from K&F Konzept. I have a step down adapter for my EF-M 32mm 1.4 so that I can also use the filter on the smaller diameter lens. The filter makes a high-quality impression. Nothing rattles or rattles. It attaches easily and turns buttery smooth. Not too loose and not too tight. There is a scale from MAX to MIN, so you can continuously adjust the filter to the desired strength between ND2 and ND400. However, you should not go beyond the MIN and MAX markings, otherwise there will be a black area in the picture. The image quality is great, I can't see any loss of quality or loss of sharpness.*** Conclusion ***If you don't want to carry around several filters and change them all the time, an adjustable ND filter makes perfect sense. Also and especially if, like me, you don't want to spend so much money on several strengths at once because you don't use the filters all the time.A landscape photographer who uses filters for almost all photos will certainly get an expensive plug-in system, which makes sense. But for the amateur photographer who would like to photograph a stream with soft water from time to time or with a wide open aperture in strong sunshine, a variable filter makes perfect sense. The price / performance ratio is really excellent with this filter. From me there is a clear purchase recommendation!

The build quality is really good, it has some weight so it feels strong, the glass is really clean and it works perfectly, I got it for my 35mm 1.8 and it allows me to take pictures and videos at full Daylight to make wide aperture of 1.8 with an even balance of blues in the sky to the greens in the grass. I was really impressed with the quality of this filter. I will get another one for my 50mm 1.8. I use it for midday exposures of waterfalls and cloudscapes. Great VND for the price. Easy to use. Will help open up your lens and save your lights
29 July 2020

I have had this VND for a little over a month now and I can say it is a very useful bit of kit to have in the bag.Natural light shooters will appreciate being able to cut down light to shoot at wider apertures, and strobists will like that plus the ability to stop down ambient light to match strobe lighting without having to go into HSS.I haven't tested it with video, as I primarily shoot stills, but for the film shooter on the go, this would be very useful.Quality seems to be there, its a metal filter, and the glass elements seem well constructed. I was able to count hairs on heads, so the effect on a cameras resolving power seems to be little to none, which is good. Autofocus on the a9 and the 70-200 GM seemed to be fineIt comes with a little plastic case, which fit nicely into the bag without taking up too much space. The adjustment of the filter is obviously easier without the lens hood, even though the 70-200 GM has a built in access for adjusting VND'sI did a quick backyard test with my son to illustrate the exposure versatility of VND and it does indeed provide 9 stops of exposure adjustment. Having that flexibility is useful for many different types and styles of video and photography. I provided a composited image showing the 10 frames I shot.I also included an image where I used the filter to allow me to slow down the shutter, and turn the water circling around a boat into something with a more dreamy, or painterly effect. The last shot is using the reflective blue tint on the filter element to reflect the clouds over the image of the boat to create a double exposure look, the VND allowed me to only cut some of the light and still create a reflection, opposed to using a cell phone, or a mirror which are totally opaque. to do this, i took the VND off the lens and angled it in front with my hand until I got the composition i wanted.Few tips for people new to using filters or VND's, don't over tighten the filter onto the lens. These things are made to be lowprofile and have fine threads, so go easy. There is a tick mark on the non-rotating part of the VND. Make sure you adjust the rotating marks on the filter off the position of the non-rotating tick mark. There are no clicks, or hard stops, just a fluid movement, so keep an eye on your adjustments if your moving around a lot. lighting conditions can change. Lastly, you shouldn't be using this indoors, unless you are trying to hss lights or purposefully cut lighting. VND's of all kinds typically don't have a neutral setting, so they are always cutting down some amount of light. Typically, indoors you want to be gathering as much light as your can. So when you come indoors, pop the filter back in the bag.Overall, I would recommend this VND filter. There are much higher priced VNDs out there, but if you're here, then your probably not looking at the $200+ VNDs on the market. This is a good filter and will get you great results, plus the blue tint on the glass element looks really cool.I have really enjoyed shooting with the VND, hope you like yours

Large variable ND filter.

I bought this filter, tempted by the low price and the fact that it is small and light and allows me to have several panels together in a single accessory, since I already have panel filters and in addition to 150x150 that are really uncomfortable too are wearing. The product looks very well packed in its case, it is very light and made of metal material with the various notches that indicate the ND phrase. Maybe I would have preferred to have actually written about how many stops there were without having to bother trying to figure out how many ND I was each time. (but maybe space doesn't allow it).I am satisfied with the purchase I made because it exceeded my expectations. In fact, I ran some unpretentious tests on the fly, and the result I would say is not bad at all.. Itried it with a focal length over 50mm, where I had no problems and the picture with a uniform exposure without a halo results, but it must be said that I also only tried it at ND400 without trying the intermediate stops so I couldn't tell what happens at a bottom stop; Unfortunately being in the middle of the day didn't allow me to do other tests.. (Of course I'll update if I can by adding more details). Finally I don't think there is anything better in terms of quality/price, at least for the ones I've tried and K&F is improving year after year... I'm attaching a few photos to remind you ofthe product and the draw attention to the result...

One of the best budget variable NDs

K&F Concept been around for some time and they're a great go-to choice for value to performance. This review is for their variable ND3-ND1000 filter (1.5-10 stops). K&F does make more premium filters than this particular one, so this filter isn't their best, but it's still good. Build quality is fantastic. The inner stationary filter has two areas of knurling while the outer rotational filter is smooth. On the edges, you'll see lasered markings indicating minimum, boxes for stops, maximum, and an arrow indicating where you're at. Though this is somewhat useful, the filter doesn't always index on my lens so that is easily shows these markings. Though this is somewhat useful, the filter doesn't always index on my lens so that is easily shows these markings. Furthermore, there aren't hard stops for the outer filter, so you can rotate it continuously. As you rotate through the full 360 degrees, you'll go through 2 full rotations of the minimum to maximum variable effect. Optical quality is on par with most of their other filters. Since you can rotate all the way through, and because this variable goes up to 10 stops, you'll run into the X effect towards the deeper end. When I tested my 77mm filter on my 24-70, it wasn't immediately obvious on the camera screen but became more apparent once I imported the photo. The filter does live up to its density claims though as I was able to achieve up to 10 stops of change. Overall, the variable ND3-ND1000 filter (1.5-10 stops) by K&F is a fantastic buy below $60 and provides great value for its performance. I've long eyed the variables by Tiffen and B+W and PolarPro but at 2x-5x the price, I couldn't justify it without even knowing if I truly needed a variable ND. If you're just getting into using ND filters and you want to play around with an entry-level cost variable that will last you a while, I strongly recommend the K&F. It runs into the same X issue found in nearly all variables without hard stops.

Produced Consistent Results
12 October 2022

The filter is thick but it is also larger than 67mm so the effective area is less affected by the thickness. I used Fuji 18-135mm lens to test this filter. When I set the focal length to 18mm (27mm Full frame equivalent) , I did not notice any vignette caused by this filter. Another test I did was set fixed aperture and shutter speed. Only thing that would vary was ISO. I then turned the filter to each ND level on the mark. I could clearly see the ISO keep moving up as the ND index went higher. When I compared the JPG results, I notched not much difference among those shots in term of brightness, color, or sharpness. So I would say that the filter is consistent within its intended stops. long exposure. At first I hardly used it, now I'm a big fan. I looked around and found the perfect tripod (carbon fiber Manfrotto, great too). When that caught on, I mentioned to my friend that I was planning on getting waterfalls with a slow shutter speed and he said, "You need an ND filter, don't you?" I knew there was a trip to Letchworth coming up this weekend. That evening I went to Amazon, made a purchase and found this product. Perfect size for my Zeiss 50mm and 35mm!Didn't really get a chance to play around with this ND filter until I got to Letchworth and wow I was blown away! The crisp rolling ring and crisp black tone make this such an incredible product. So worth the price! With my light tripod and my filter I can only grow.I've attached an image of a covered bridge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park taken with this filter. It was an eight second shutter speed.

Very good filter for this price!

When I ordered this filter, I was very skeptical that it would do a good job. But after a week in the mountains, I can wholeheartedly say that this filter absolutely deserves FIVE stars for less than €20. The order went in no time, it was with me in less than three days. The first impression was really good. It can be screwed onto the lens very easily and quickly, regardless of whether there is another filter underneath. It also looks high quality and shows good workmanship. The different ND levels can be adjusted very easily. The only small problem is that there is no stop point and start point. However, this is a very small problem which hardly hinders you at all. I mainly used this filter on water bodies and waterfalls. He absolutely showed his best side. I've added a couple of pictures in which I used this filter in the attachment. I find that everything is sharp and clean. First of all the water, it has become very soft in my opinion and the filter has done exactly what was expected.
