And, as it promises, I didn't need to set it with anything. In general, I try to avoid using powder products but am always skeptical when something claims to be transfer-proof and long-lasting. However, after a full day of running around London with the foundation on, I can confirm both of these statements are true. The ultimate test came when I went to a Caroline Polachek concert in the evening, and while I didn't "cry on the dance floor," I definitely looked hot enough to hurt someone's feelings.

The worst part of this foundation was shade matching myself because it seemed like odd dead lighting was used for each model however I knew the balm was a little too light for me so I just used the model for the balm foundation and found her within the serum foundation line and chose a couple shades darker which surprisingly worked well. I got lucky but I know others who look online only will suffer because this one is something that you really need to see swatched in person but other than that poor choice in campaign lighting and shame range that has a lot of similar repeats I think this is a genuinely good foundation. The natural oils from your skin will come through just enough to make it that much more seamless. I don’t think this will work for everyone as well as it does for me but I think a lot of people will have this in their favorite trusty foundations that they can count on for occasions where you need your makeup to do you right. It’s that special occasion full glam. Personally I wouldn’t wear it daily just because I don’t always want full coverage but anytime I do want or need that coverage I’m reaching for this first every single time. The hype around this was so deserved. I don’t regret a single penny spent!

My combination skin is on the drier side right now because it’s winter, and the product did cling a little to the drier parts of my skin as it set (visible in photo).
