Bought this product on February 26, 2018. Using provided SmartKey tool, I was unable to rekey this new lock to existing house key (3 other Baldwin/Kwikset locksets currently installed/working at house). Spoke with your 'help line' in early March and was sent 2 replacement cylinders; these did not line up and/or were the wrong pieces. On March 9th I spoke again to your 'help line' and was instructed to send photos (receipt, original package, and lock). I did so. On Thursday, March 29th, I received a single cylinder deadbolt. So as of this date I still do not have a working double cylinder deadbolt to install.

In the last 10 years I have bought 2 houses and I exclusively use the Kwikset Smart Key locks on all exterior doors. I have never had an issue. When I've locked myself out of the house on that rare occasion, the locksmiths admired the difficulty of entry and it took them nearly an hour to get in. When I've needed to change the key, the process was easy enough. On the few times I flubbed up the rekeying and could not make it work, I called customer service and was provided a replacement lock -- no charge, no problems. I know that with the Smart Key locks, I only have to buy deadbolt and knobs once and that's it! These are the best locks for the money and I will not buy another brand

Installed six of these with companion door handle/locks. Keyed all the same in a flash, no need for a locksmith. I do suggest buying a jig to guide drilling the door if New holes are needed.
My handles and locks on front and back doors were 13 years old and subject to both heavy use and baking sun during the day. They began to operate wit b some difficulty and Kwikset replaced them under their life time warranty - no fuss, no muss!
Replaced the locks at my office/warehouse. Since my employees have to have keys this is a perfect solution to stay secure when an employee moves on. Now I can re-key without changes locks.
I bought this lockset with matching entry door knob. You have it on file, I am not spending my day looking through 1600+ sets to find the exact product. The purchase was from a home center, the lock operated smoothly, but I was unable to lock or unlock the lock from inside the house. The lock was inoperable, did not matter if it was on my kitchen counter, loosely fitted in the door, nothing worked. I called the service center on three different days, leaving my phone number for a return call. On the forth attempt , I was successful after being on hold for 52 minutes. The service tech was helpful, me doing as he asked for the next 45 minutes or so.. ...and he determined the lock was defective. While they do in fact require a key on both sides, and look like a deadbolt from the exterior, the latch itself is just a normal door latch. How is that a deadbolt? It's completely unusable. I'm very disappointed as I've gotten very nice deadbolts from kwikset before that locked on one side and used actual bolts. There's no point in installing a regular latch in addition to a regular locking doorknob, so this falsely advertised lock is useless to me. I needed a deadbolt that uses a key on both sides for some entry doors that have windows in them that could easily be broken and the lock unlocked. I'm so disappointed because I really like the rekey feature, but now I'll have to buy some other brand and have two odd locks that are different from the rest of the house.
Within a year this unit would not open when key was inserted and turned. Had to drill it out. Customer service replacement was very good. Hopefully this one will last.
Purchased these looks 4 yrs ago because of the re-key feature.Having rental properties, as tenants move in and out I have the benefit of changing the the locks. Rekeying takes only 30 seconds and the new tenants are assured of a unique secure key.I especially like a company that stands behind their warranty. No hassles.
