I’m so sad. I bought the shade Amber from this range which promised “vibrant red tones” and touted a ginger girl on the front with bright orange natural looking ginger hair. For reference, my hair yesterday was a faded orange ginger, needing touch up from previous box dye. It was light, just a little faded. After using this “amber” dye I have dark brown hair with a tinge of purple-ish red. It is significantly darker than my natural hair colour and won’t budge even after several washes. I’ve never dyed darker than my natural in my life. This is hideous and completely completely different from what shown on the box. Amazing

I bought the chocolate brown 3 days ago (?) Yesterday dyed my hair. Absoloutely in love. I love that the hair dye had no disgusting scent most hair dye brands have. I love the conditioner bottle was pretty big too and not just a 1 time use. I absolutely adored the package (and the instructions where good too. Though I know how to use it already I just looked at it) in general. The hair color stayed really well and it absoloutely didn't disappoint me . I bought it in a store in my home country. Anyways I absoloutely loved it

Another fail by L’Oréal

My first inkling that this product wasn’t going to turn out like the picture on the box was when I noticed, post application, a smudge of dye on my wrist that was distinctly purple. Now, I’m not an expert in colour theory, but I wondered how the heck a cool, purple based dye was going to produce a warm, orangey amber colour like the one on the box. Short answer: it doesn’t. My hair is now a revolting dark burgundy, thanks L’Oréal. Oh and I started with medium blonde hair. This is the second fail this week with L’Oréal Casting products. They need to review their formulas pronto.

Chocolate Brownie... beware its red/purple!

I bought this dye wanting to go darker brown but not too intense. Looked lovely on the box and I know the image isn't always the way it comes out depending on your hair and previous colouring etc. Mine was fully natural hair at the point of picking this dye. I read other reviews saying it's red and purple and very dark. It worried me slightly I most admit. But they are infact true reviews. On my light brown natural hair this dye went a deep purpley red shade, sheen's bright red in the light. I absolutely love it personally and have no regrets. It's a gorgeous colour. However, I was only doing the top layer of my hair, I always buy 2 boxes just in case.I will definitely buy this brand again but I will experience with different colours. Gloves don’t work

I am writing in ‘annoyance’ due to a product of yours being ‘faulty’ and causing damage to my hands and / or nails. I purchased ‘Casting Crème Gloss’ to apply to my mother’s hair and wore the appropriate gloves provided by yourselves. We are due to travel on holiday the 20th of August hence why I was applying the dye.I had my nails done specially for our holiday and although I wore the gloves the dye has still got through the gloves and damaged my ‘new’ nails.I am appalled that gloves provided would not work and now my hands / nails are stained before our trip tomorrow. I paid £45 for my nails and £10 for your product and would expect both to be protected.I look forward to your reply but as a consumer of L’Oreal products I feel very let down at this moment in time

Lovely dark copper / auburn on mid brown hair

The box colour is misleading BUT this is why you need to pay attention to the numbers on the box also. If you are looking for a light red/ strawberry blonde or light ginger then do not go below a 7, it will be too dark for you. This colour has a brown / chestnut aspect to it so will be a touch darker. Personally I love the colour, I have naturally mid brown hair with lots of blonde balayage that had grown out, I wanted to go a bit darker / warmer for autumn as my grown out bleached balayage was a bit yellow and my natural brown roots have a warm tinge to them and I wasn’t loving it. I thought about going back to brown but I know that when you put brown onto blonde it can do green / too ashy so decided on auburn. My go-to box dye!

I have been using Loreal Casting Crème Gloss to dye my hair ever since I was in my teens! There are so many things I like about this product.Firstly for reference - my hair is long, curly, and naturally a light brown shade. Not the colour on the box

I’ve spent the last couple of months lightening my dark brown hair (my natural colour) to a gingery orange which I did really effectively with the Olia bleach. I even had some blonde streaks so my hair had lifted to a really good blank canvas that this dye should have evened out.In its defence it most certainly evened out the tones in my hair but I am so disappointed as it made my hair relatively dark again when that was what I was trying to lift out. The red tones on the box are definitely there when the light hits it, I’ve only freshly done it there now so I’ve yet to see how it looks in natural light. The tone is really rich and like a red chestnut brown but by no means is it the colour on the box. Soft and healthy

I’ve always dyed my hair red for years and I’ve recently been wanting to grow my natural hair dark and long and thick, and I’ve been really interested in buying a hair gloss because my hair is also a bit damaged and I wanted to bring back some shine to my hair too. I bought this because it claimed to be really healthy and also give your hair some gloss to it too and I wanted to dye my red hair back to the dark colour my hair naturally was. I must say it’s not like other hair dyes that I have tried. I bought the shade 300, it didn’t have a really strong chemical smell to it, it didn’t burn my scalp as I let it sit in my hair and it washed out very easily. As I washed my hair it felt sooo soft! After I washed my hair out I used my Dyson airwrap to straighten my hair and my hair feels really soft and shiny and it doesn’t look damaged at all!! I really love this hair dye so much and that’s why I’m taking the time to write this out. I told myself that I want to grow out my natural hair long and healthy and I want to stop using dyes as my hair has thinned out quick a bit from the hair dyes over the past few years and the chemicals have damaged my hair too and I’m only 19 so I don’t want to lose my hair quite young, I must say my hair looks very healthy and shiny. I would love to use this hair dye again (even though I’ve told myself I won’t use any hair dyes). It’s amazing!! I bought one for my mum too and I would never let her use something that I didn’t like myself, I only like to buy the best for her. I think it’s worth a try for anyone wanting to use a hair dye for themselves!!!
