This really is the the best straightener out there.I brought the Dyson straightener which promised perfect hair in one pass for fine hair, it did not live up to the hype or the price tag.This Steampod does!Perfect hair in one pass on the lowest heat setting and it lasts for 4 days.These 4 days are also perfect hair days. My hair is naturally curly so usually even when my hairdresser straightens ( with GHD) it it starts to get kinks by day 2. With this beauty it stays straight.I also don’t need to pre blowdry with this, I wash, let it air dry overnight and straighten the next morning which makes the perfect finish even more amazing.

I’ve been needing to update my straightener for a while, was using my GHD from 8 years ago and I could feel it was starting to sizzle my hair! I’ve been really looking after my hair in lockdown and although I don’t straighten my hair often, I wanted something that was going to do the least amount of damage. Had seen some good reviews on this so thought I would give it a go and OMG. It exceeded all of my expectations. Can literally go over one section and it is straight. I’ve owned a Dyson, many GHD’s, and a few cloud 9 hair Straightner’s and the end result with the L’Oréal Hair Steampod is the best out of all them in my opinion. I brought this product instead of GHD… BIG MISTAKE.I tried it exactly once, it frizzes my hair the steam did not straighten my hair and the comb just gets tangled! I was disappointed but thought oh well I’ll return it. I carefully packaged it back in the original packaging and as I had not used any product on my hair it was completely clean.I then called there service line where you cannot leave a message I tried to chat to an on-call agent twice and then was told that I couldn’t return it because I had tried it! Never mind that it doesn’t freaking work. I was also told I couldn’t talk to a supervisor, and I had to email some random address and put my complaint in again!Don’t waste your 300+ dollars, you won’t get a good product and you certainly will not get ... Def I do not regret purchasing it.It straightens my hair so quick, like it one go per section! My previous one I needed to do at least 3 times to make it straight.Been using the steampod 3.0 for about a month now, twice a week and hair is still healthy and shiny. No damage!*My hair is naturally wavy, semi oily.
The steam pod is amazing! My hair is straighter than it ever was using a traditional straighter and it actually holds its shape the next day. It feels softer and healthier than it has for a long time. And it is even quicker and easier to use than a traditional straightener.Best thing I have ever done for my hair!!(The essential de-mineralised water was my only concern but it is cheap and easy to buy at Coles and will last for ages as you don’t use much)
I love this product. Once you're over the need for distilled water and that the comb must always face the floor, this tool is outstanding! My course frizzy hair has never been so smooth, and it lasts a lot longer than the traditional heat straightening. I've also noticed I have a lot less breakage and that is even using it at 200 most days.
I have frizzy wavy hair, normal straighteners will only keep my hair straight for 1-2 days - I can go almost a week when using the steam pod! My hair has never been silkier or shiner, I 100% recommend this straightener over all others. This is my second steam pod (my first one being the 1st gen that lasted over 9 years and was still going strong) but the new sleek style with water container in the straightener won me over 😄
I bought this straightner with high hopes that my curly thick coarse hair can be straightned into sleek smooth and shiny mane with less damage. Not sure how it is working for others and how genuine all the youtube videos are, but for my hair it's causing more damage by pulling the hair all the time. The plates are 1 inch but there is a casing around these plates for the steam to pass through. The hair is getting stuck on that casing and breaking the hair. Tried removing the comb and using it but still the same issue. I could see the hair breaking. Immediately switched to my previous straightner to finish styling and took the steampod back to the store.The staff member tried it on my hair which has already been straightned before I stepped out and obviously it was ... I have been straightning my hair for years and know how to work with a flat iron.Such a disappointing experience. After you save money hoping to get something better for yourself but purchasing a much worse product that is causing more damage. Have to be stuck with it because of terms and conditions without regard for customer experience. Money down the drain.
So I was tossing up on this as I wasn’t certain I would get the lasting results and if the price would pay off. All I can say is wow. I bought this for damage control, so I could grow my hair out without split ends. It’s been 2 months now since I have purchased the steam pod and I don’t even need a hair cut. Usually by 2 months my hair needs 2 inches off to remove the split ends. It is worth every penny. Straightens quickly and beautifully that lasts me 5 days before my next wash. I’m soooo impressed and happy! I don’t usually write reviews but felt like I had to for this product.
