Lovely. La Gina Italian Tomato Paste Passata is a lovely sauce, perfect for so many recipes It has a beautiful subtle flavour and is a great jumping off point to building a delicious flavour base. The La Gina brand is made in Italy with 100% Italian tomatoes and contains no artificial colours. The sauce has no added sugar or salt, and has a health star rating of 4. 5. The passata sauce has a current shelf price of $2. 20 for a 680g bottle. I would happily purchase this sauce again and recommend it to others.

Fantastic for cooking. I love these passata type tomato's and this is no exception. They taste so much nicer than canned tomato's, I don't know why that is but another bunchee mentioned that it is nicer because there are no seeds. This may be why. This is made in Italy and of course they are well known for growing tomato's. Anything traditionally Italian tastes good in my books. This is a lovely brand with no added salt or sugar and I am very happy to use it again. Thanks Bunch for a lovely sample.

In a pinch, you can use passata as a sauce for the base of pizza but all the Italians I've known will never use paste. As usual, homemade is the best but this is a good substitute when you need to save time. Good for pasta bakes, pizza, soups, stews, casseroles, and especially my Mushroom Lentil Bolognese

Good but not Australian. Passata is a staple in my pantry. I usually make a chicken, risotto and broccoli recipe that is baked with a panko breadcrumb and cheese topping. Once it was in stock it was easy t find on the bottom shelf. The health star rating at 4. 5 is excellent, as is the ingredients list - just tomatoes and acidity regulator (citric acid). There is a long expiry date (2025) although a jar will never be on the pantry shelf that long!!The price of $1. 95 or 29c/100g is one of the cheapest I could see. I do love that it comes in a glass jar. I often keep them and pass them on to people in the community who make their own passata. This brand had a nice consistency, flavour and taste. I would have rated this as 5 stars if it had been made in Australia. I ... MoreGood but not Australian. Passata is a staple in my pantry. Great for pasta sauce. I love passata♥️in homemade tomato sauce♥️Recipe: Mumma Elena’s pasta sauce♥️I pour Into my big S. S. SEB Pressure Cooker:1 bottle Passata, Then add 4 cans of Italian diced tomatoes, add my homegrown dried oregano - a handful, then add 1 teaspoon each of basil and Italian herbs, 2 sticks of celery chopped & 1/2 a leek chopped & plenty of garlic. Add salt, pepper & chilli to taste. Pressure cook for an hour. ♥️♥️♥️This passata is Made in Italy, the home of Mamma’s who make the best pasta sauce♥️Low carbs, low fat, low salt…what’s not to love?Soooo, it’s a yes from me…buy it and keep buying passata♥️✅♥️
One product, so many options. This is a staple in our trolley. It is a delicious base to so many of our family favourites. With 99% tomatoes, this is as close to homemade as you can buy. With a lovely and fresh tomato flavour, this carries other flavours so well. Add Italian flavours of thyme, rosemary and oregano and you have a delicious and quick lasagna or spaghetti sauce. Throw in Mexican flavours and it is a great enchilada or taco mince base. It goes perfectly with red lentils and vegetables for a vegetable packed casserole. Definitely budget friendly with its versatility.
The best on shelf. In my opinion this is the best passata sauce on the shelf. $1. 50 and have been purchasing it forever and when it appeared here I was surprised it was a woolworths product. I guess because I had simply read it was made in Italy. It's the perfect size bottle to make spaghetti bolognese for a family of 4 or 5. With enough tomato based sauce to coat the mince and pasta. If you saute some onion in a frying pan, cook off some beef mince (or other mince). Add chopped up garlic, grate in a whole zucchini and a carrot, add this passata and then a sachet of spaghetti bolognese. YUM! I like to use macro penne or spiral plain or wholemeal pasta at $1. 65 per pack. Yummy, great value and spaghetti gets lost in the sauce a bit. Made in Italy especially for ... MoreThe best on shelf. Handy to add to a family meal. We used it in a spaghetti dish for hungry younger family members after a day at the beach. Tasted fine, rich colour and flavour, children enjoyed their hot meal. Comparable price to other similiar tomato passata products available in store. Made in Italy, useful recyclable glass jar. Handy for a quick meal. Thanks Woolworths for this sample. Will not be a future purchase as we are not big tomato anything eaters here and prefer Organic product when needed.
1st time user! This was my first time using LaGina Passata - I usually use tinned tomatoes. I was pleasantly surprised, lovely smooth consistency and made with 100% tomatoes. I like that there is no added sugar or salt and no artificial flavours. Great addition to my spaghetti bolognese, I had only used half the 680g bottle, so like that I was able to put the bottle in the fridge and use a couple of days later when making a curry. LaGina Passata is now on my regular weekly shopping list.
Nonna approved! I was very excited to try this product. Since marrying an Italian I find myself making more and more tomato based meals. As sometimes happens we like to use one particular product and very rarely change and try something new. So glad I did! This passata is sensational! The tomato flavour is not bitter or too sweet. It's nice and rich and tastes of natural fresh picked tomato. The consistency is also very smooth. I made my easy peasy osso bucco in the slow cooker for dinner using 2/3 of the jar. I froze the rest in a zip lock bag for later. I'll most likely use it for a pizza sauce or to add to a bolognaise (sugo) sauce. I learned from my mother in law (Nonna) to put the zip lock bag into a glass and to pour in the product with no mess and no ... MoreNonna approved! I was very excited to try this product. I can confirm the passata cooked beautifully and the osso bucco turned out absolutely delicious. I'm glad I was challenged into trying something different. The price is great and the results are delicious. AND it's Nonna approved. Most important (Ps my "recipe" is too simple. It's 2/3 jar of passata, 1/4 cup olives, teaspoon of Italian dried herbs, good pinch of salt and two pieces of osso bucco. Turn occasionally. Slow cook for 6 hours. Serve with polenta). Thank you Bunch team! Another staple added to my shopping list.
