Ever since I started really getting into skin care I had been wondering about what seems to be one of the holy grails of skincare- La Mer. So when I ordered my Sephora Luxe Collection which included a jar of The Moisturizing Soft Cream I was absolutely giddy with excitement. Now I totally see what all the hype is about! To start off with, the packaging it came in was really nice. It came in a really nice green box and the cream itself is in a really nice white jar with the brand name and info in their trademark colors green and peach. In a more fresh, clean kind of way in the best way possible if that makes any sense. The cream itself is a white, gel-cream that's the perfect consistency. I applied it to my skin and WOW! My skin has never ever felt this soft and smooth! It also immediately reduced the redness in my cheeks, which was amazing. It absorbed very quickly and wasn't tacky or greasy in the least bit. I can see why this cream is so crazy expensive! My skin is sensitive and the fragrance in this didn't bother it at all. It hydrated my naturally oily skin perfectly without making it greasy. I really have to admit, my skin looked absolutely glowing after using this. It contains the sea kelp-infused Miracle Broth, to soothe redness and replenish lost moisture. It also contains the brand's exclusive Lime Tea Extract, which is steeped in power antioxidant properties to neutralize free radicals, enabling the skin to focus on renewal and repair. This product delivers miraculous benefits. It's luxurious formula penetrates deeply to replenish moisture and strengthen your skin. Renewed and energized, skin looks youthfully radiant. Clinical testing has demonstrated a 70% immediate improvement in moisture and a 65% improvement in visible lift after 8 weeks of usage. Skin is transformed, leaving it softer, looking firmer, virtually ageless. Groundbreaking hydrating gel-cream. Contains moisturizing Spheres that create a rich yet weightless texture. To use: pat a small amount between fingertips and press gently into skin. I feel very privileged that I got to use this product, considering the smallest jar at Sephora is $190 and let's face it, that doesn't really fit most people's budget (I know not mine!). I really wish that I could continue to use this product, but once I run out I probably won't be able to afford another jar. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts though, and keep on seeing what great results I get with this awesome product! If you can afford it, I definitely recommend trying it out for yourself! You can buy it for a little bit cheaper on Amazon, around $145.

It takes a couple of weeks to a month to see improvements. You can use this twice a day but it’s so thick, I think once a day is more than enough unless you have extremely dry, parched skin. A tiny dab is all you need using the enclosed beauty spatula. You rub this on your fingertips first until translucent then PRESS not rub into your skin. The scent is pleasant; almost lemony and fresh. To me, this is for more mature skin (40+) when you start to see signs of aging like dullness, dryness, lack of radiance, fine lines and wrinkles. Today I am reviewing the prestigious La Mer cream that came in my Sephora Favorites Luxe box. I honestly had no idea how expensive this product was until after I had applied it to my face and was looking it up for more details (the jar doesn’t say much about the product). WOW! Honestly though, I can’t be upset about it. This cream is worth every penny. This is possibly the most soothing facial cream I’ve ever used. The smell is so powdery fresh and just “clean” smelling. The application was like spreading room temperature butter over freshly toasted french bread. Yes, that is the visual I am painting because this thing spread like butter across my skin. The effect was immediate. I could see it nourishing my pores and giving me this sort of baby skin glow that I’m not familiar with from using other products. The sample size I received in my box is extremely generous - I only had to dip my finger in a few times to find adequate coverage for my entire face. I can easily get at least a week’s worth of use out of the remaining product. It has been 20 minutes since I first applied it and my skin is baby soft, almost velvety feeling. I have no idea what “Miracle Broth” is, but it surely lives up to its name as an ingredient in this cream. Algae Extract is the first ingredient in this formula. I used this on my chin/mouth area, which has been a problem area for me in terms of dryness. I am very impressed with the skin barrier renewing properties. This cream is expensive, but luckily a little goes a very long way. A good investment for your skin.

Cashmere blanket for skin!

This is potentially my favourite La Mer product - together with the intense eye balm - from the entire range. Its got a light creamy texture, it is super hydrating and leaves my skin feeling amazing, youthful and glowing. I am 45 years old, suffer from rosacea and dry skin, and this is one of my go to creams - especially in the winter. I have really seen the benefits of using this cream on two different occasions; a. when I go through a period of using acids and retinol; b. really cold weather. It is super expensive, but it is one of the very few creams that makes my skin feel so comfortable and beautiful. I love it and I usually try and purchase it when SpaceNK have discounts or offers.

Love it but..

I love La Mer products. Bougie, Beautiful and Bank Breaking. I always feel so pampered and expensive when I use them. I have combination -oily skin and admittedly, the cool gel cream is better for my skin but the soft cream does a good job of keeping my skin well moisturised during the winter. The moisturising soft cream has a medium thick consistency and glides perfectly onto the skin. I’m obsessed with the smell also! You only need a tiny amount even their smallest pot will last you for ages. I just wish the pricetag wasn't so high!

The only moisturizer that works!

I have sensitive skin, but I am not sure what ingredients in moisturizers that irritate my skin. I have combo skin, but leaning towards dry sometimes. most dry skin moisturizers feel too greasy and didnot absorb properly. Most oily skin moisturizers dont hydrate enough. Some will makes my face darker and red after application (Clinique moisture surge). As soon as i tried this (with a travel size at first), my skin was calm, just enough hydration. it absorbs quickly, a little goes a long the way. I used suggested application method by La Mer. I worked offshore sometimes and will always get sun burn. This product is TRASH

First of all who would pay that much for a moisturizer or any type of skincare products! Its a absolute waste of money. I am a medical esthetician and have tried tested and researched about this cream. It is a very basic formula with nothing special at all. Think of the CeraVe moisturizer. They are exactly the same. Do not waste your money on it! Or any of there products. If you are still thinking of buying I recommend checking Cassandra Banksons youtube channel were she gives all her great insight and is a very well loved skin care professional.

Worth the hype

I frequently reach for this moisturizer because it is my favorite. On the skin, the silky cream feels so wonderful and moisturizing. Smooth in its application, the cream swiftly absorbs into the skin without losing its nourishing properties. Along with the original and the gel cream, I also have this cream. This is my favorite of the three because I only use it unless I really need the additional hydration of the original or the lighter texture of the gel. This is ideal for mornings when all I want to do is appear moisturized and use a minimal amount of mascara and concealer.
