This is one of a few La Mer products (lip balm, hand cream revitalizing mask) that's left a lasting impression on me. I tried a couple of sample tubes in the tiny 0.1 fl oz (3ml) size, using it on one side of my face only - the right side. Within 1 week that side was glowing and looked amazing, the left side which I was using Argan oil on looked dull in comparison. The contrast between the two sides of my face was vividly noticeable when looking in the mirror. Admittedly it didn't mattify or help control oil in my most oiliest areas (mostly t-zone), but something in here has an affinity with my skin and otherwise brings out the best in it. I've used the original creme, also the reformulated version of the gel-creme, and neither delivered the glow that this does, no ... MoreThis is one of a few La Mer products (lip balm, hand cream revitalizing mask) that's left a lasting impression on me. I've used the original creme, also the reformulated version of the gel-creme, and neither delivered the glow that this does, no matter how good they were as actual moisturizers. And in terms of moisture I've still needed to use my Hada Labo Hyaluronic Lotion underneath this as the La Mer lotion on its own isn't anywhere near as moisturizing enough for my oily-dehydrated skin type. If you're just oily with no dehydration, this will go down a treat as there's absolutely no tackiness or residue when you apply this, it literally vanishes into your skin within seconds as though nothing has been applied. Contains the typical La Mer fragrance and comes in a pump dispenser which is good for protecting the ingredients. Hoping there is a sale on this so I can purchase the full size, as my samples have now finished. I'm not going to hold my breath though, I've never seen their prices drop, only double in the last decade or so, since I started purchasing their products. -- My Top 10 Beauty Must-Haves

Lamer doesn't dissapoint. This is such a good cream. It applies beautifully. The smell is beautiful but not overpowering. It absorbs fast. There is no greasy feel at all. This cream is perfect for upcoming winter months. This is a very luxurious cream. After application my skin feels velvety. Couldn't love the feeling more. Highly reccomend

I recently got to try La Mer’s moisturizing matte lotion. It was a small sample but you really don’t need much of it because it goes a long way. The moisturizer is a light, which was a plus. It also dried matte. It didn’t leave your face greasy. It does have a strong fragrance, which I’m not typically a fan of. The moisturizer was nice and but I typically like more moisturizing products. I would not purchase.

This product is perfect for male skin, typically more irritated (like from shaving) and oilier. This mattifies all day, while it doesn’t work as well at this than blotting papers occasionally, it keeps my face matte for several hours. This also does not look too dewy, one of my preferences given I present more masculine. I say it works too well because it’s so expensive I wish I could tell you that it’s a scam but it is absolutely not. My skin is radiant, matte, clear, even when I use this product. It doesn’t cause acne either (which I think is a concern with thicker creams like Créme de La Mer). Awesome product.
I've recently started using La Mer and so far I'm impressed. Yes it's expensive, but I do find going on experience, you get what you pay for when it comes to beauty products so I was expecting great things! I've been using this day and night after cleansing/removing making, or applying the lotion pre makeup to ensure a hydrated base to prep my skin. I chose the Matte Lotion to help with oil control as I have combination skin. I was looking for something not too heavy but rich enough to hydrate and last all day - remarkably, I felt a difference after one night! I used the Treatment Lotion prior and finished with this Matte Lotion and the two together are a match made in heaven. I used the Treatment Lotion prior and finished with this Matte Lotion and the two together are a match made in heaven. Skin looks healthy, fresh, hydrated and it's really helped to balance my skin already in just 1 week. I love this as a pre foundation base too as I was finding primers were sitting too heavy on my skin and foundation would slide off throughout the day however since using La Mer - my makeup has stayed in place much longer!
This moisturizer is very light weight! A watery cream consistency. Very lightly scented. It has a slightly fresh powdery smell. It’s mattifying when my skin is oily but also hydrating. A little product covers the surface area of my face. Approximately a pea sized drop on each check and forehead does the trick. No sticky or greasy finish!
I have never tried La Mer before, so I was really excited to try this one.The outer packaging is plain green and the product is encased in a very heavy white bottle. To me it doesn't give the impression of a luxurious product, but I tend to care more about the performance rather than the packaging. The cream, dispensed from a pump action bottle, is pure white with a strong herb-like scent, which I found pleasant, and barely noticed it after a few days of use. It has a light, cream-like texture that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a sticky residue or clogging the pores. The skin feels silky smooth afterwards.Interestingly, there are no usage instructions supplied with the product whatsoever - none on the box outside, nothing on the product bottle or ... MoreI have never tried La Mer before, so I was really excited to try this one.The outer packaging is plain green and the product is encased in a very heavy white bottle. The skin feels silky smooth afterwards.Interestingly, there are no usage instructions supplied with the product whatsoever - none on the box outside, nothing on the product bottle or in the leaflet inside the box. Strangely, the leaflet (larger than A4) is mostly a completely blank sheet of folded white paper with a couple of small paragraphs written on the edge of one side in English and French about the La Mer brand. Certainly not what I would expect considering the price tag.I found that one pump was sufficient to cover my whole face in one application. La Mer's website recommends "patting a small amount between fingertips to release the Miracle Broth", but there is no explanation on why this is considered to be a more efficient method of applying the product as opposed to just patting it directly against your face. After almost two weeks of using the lotion twice a day (morning and evening, after cleansing), I find that it is extremely good at controlling oiliness (probably the best I have ever tried), but for me it's not very hydrating, and I have to use another moisturiser on top, as my face feels a bit 'tight' otherwise. So to me it acts more like an oil-control serum rather than a moisturiser, and it does a really good job of that.My skin is not sensitive and I have not experienced any irritation, redness or breakouts.
I used La Mer about 15 years ago. I gave it up due to the expense. But here I am, in my late 50s, looking for different skin care. I’ve always used decent products, but thought… this might be the time to take the leap. I used Sephora points to get several sample kits. And immediately fell in love with the brand again. It led me to dial in the appropriate products. I felt I needed a day lotion/cream but so often products leave me oily looking mid day or my foundation has rubbed off. This was recommended and wow, do I love it. Absorbs quickly. It keeps me hydrated during the day. It works well with other products that I use… some times I use a primer, but often just foundation, etc. This goes a long, long ways. I use one pump in the AM. The original cream is really too rich for me, so I’ve been using Soft…which is also a really terrific product, as is The Concentrate. Worth the money, but I do look for gift with purchase, or the Sephora loyalty discounts when I purchase.
I had used the La Mer cream once years before, when I worked at Nordstrom because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Unfortunately it was too heavy, and made my skin break out. So I was interested to see if the new matte lotion was going to be a better option for my oily-combo skin.It was! I was super surprised how nice the texture was, with the signature La Mer scent. (The fragrance may also have been what broke my skin out, but it didn’t affect my skin at all with the lotion.) The matte lotion absorbs so easily and quickly, and left my skin so soft. No breakouts or irritated skin, so if you’re a fan of La Mer or have the money, it’s a great option for oiler types!
I was really hoping this lotion was just extremely overpriced moisturizer but it's actually amazing for my oily skin. It even accounts for any facial oils in my skincare routine and, without looking dry, leaves me with perfectly matte skin all day/night. Has a very light scent. I'd say it's worth it if you can afford to incorporate it into your daily routine. If not, I wouldn't break the bank for it; although it is also perfect for special occasions
