A Lovely Oil

I'm a huge LRP fan and was extremely happy to discover the Lipikar Oil. It is great as a shower gel-oil cleanser, a bath oil, both hand and foot soak oil; suitable for extremely sensitive, dry, dehydrated, itchy/tight, allergy and reactive prone skin (as well as normal too of course), leaving your body feeling comfortable, soothed, very hydrated and non greasy. When this first came out, I contacted La Roche Posay directly, inquiring if it would be suitable as a face cleansing oil...and it was a resounding *no*, it is not meant for the face, it is definitely too heavy, not formulated for this use and also note, for a full bath, only 2-3 capfuls are advised. Why it is marketed here as a "face cleansing oil" is detrimental and I have unfortunately encountered a number ... MoreI'm a huge LRP fan and was extremely happy to discover the Lipikar Oil. Please see the actual usage directions as they are directly from the LRP website.I definitely recommend it, and watch for promotions when the special 750ml size (for the same price) comes out in a huge pump bottle, obviously an excellent value!!

A pampering experience.

I'm so happy to see this added to Beauty Crew's product list because it has been an absolute favourite of mine for a few years. I hadn't heard of Lipikar until I received it in a beauty box and was so impressed with the delicate scent and non-drying formula that I have been repurchasing ever since ( and recently picked up a discounted supply at a French pharmacy). La Roche Posay have several ranges for specific skin concerns and this addresses very dry and delicate skin, which is why it is also recommended for babies and children. I particularly like using this as a body wash because it is a fantastic alternative to soap, which can dry out the skin, and it has a lovely fresh scent. I don't really have to use body lotion as a next step (which is a bonus if you're in a hurry or simply feeling lazy!) - it is THAT hydrating. The scent is very subtle - I guess it is Shea butter - and so unlikely to irritate most people. It can also be used as a facial cleanser although I prefer it mainly for the body, as my mature facial skin may need something even more gentle. For many people, however, it works for both face and body, making it a very versatile product and a cinch for paring down a beauty routine while travelling.Lipikar is a real pampering experience. I can't recommend this rich but gentle cleansing oil highly enough.

I've been using this for several months now and am absolutely blown away by it! I have very dry sensitive skin and have tried so many different body oils and washes, many that are okay but this stuff is just on a whole different level. I find it leaves my skin really velvety soft and without a trace of dryness, even to the point that I've stopped needing to use body lotion, I'm literally smooth and soft enough without it, something I never in a million years thought would ever apply to my skin. Even calves, knees, elbows and all the usual normally dry/scaley bits. I never ever write reviews for anything but I honestly couldn't recommend this more highly and find myself wanting to shout about it to everybody! Really hope they never stop making it, I'll never use ... MoreI've been using this for several months now and am absolutely blown away by it! Game changer
8 June 2022

I’ve been using this product for over 3 months now and it really helps me to achieve that ‘clean’ feel that I desire from washing my face. The main reason that I haven’t given it 5 stars is the smell. I have a very sensitive nose and although the scent doesn’t really stay around after washing the product off, the perfume is just too much.It also doesn’t lather easily. I usually like to only use about 2 drops for my whole face and neck (it’s more than enough, especially as I double cleanse with the Effaclar purifying foaming gel) I barely get a lather though. I only see one if I use more.

Great Lotion
20 July 2022

I love this lotion! It is by far the best that I've used on my super dry skin. The only complaint that I have is about the regular bottle. The pump always stops working when the bottle is still about 1/3 full. The plastic that the bottle is made from is so hard that it's almost impossible to get the remaining product out. I find it wasteful and frustrating. I hope that the new packaging addresses this issue.

Love La Roche Posay products
28 May 2020

Generally I love La Roche-Posay products. However this one, though it performs well, has a smell to it that I do not really think is good. Their products are normally kind for the skin and do not contain artificial ingredients and perfumes, but this one has a not so nice scent about it. I'm wondering if it is a bit old and containing oil, the oil has kind of aged with a bit of taint. Possibly not, however I have not come across anything like this with any other LaRoche Posay product I have ever used. Namely the shower gel(s), body moisturiser, facial moisturiser and sun block(s) products. All of which I use daily.

More of a gel than an oil
26 July 2020

My partner and I usually share bottles of a L’Occitane almond shower oil.I thought this might be a replacement that would save us a bit of money. This is an effective, gentle body wash. It is more of a gel than an oil texture. It is fragranced with something a bit floral but reasonably neutral. The skin on my body is normal type, but after using L’Occitane for several years it’s very used to very gentle cleansers. This was therefore not gentle enough for me. After rinsing this away my skin feels a little tight and itchy. I do think if you were changing to this from a regular shower gel you would find this an improvement even if in my own circumstances I did not. We’ll be sticking to the L’Occitane in our household.

Not a traditional oil
27 March 2021

I love using oils to melt my makeup before I was it off with a cleanser and wanted to try something new as my other previous one (Palmers) was irritating my eyes. It is not a traditional oil, it lathers up, which traditional oils don't. Still, it is more moisturising than just double cleansing with a straight cleanser, so I like it for that... it also does not irritate my eyes or skin at all, so it's gentle. It is a great price for a huge bottle so I probably will repurchase.

oil wash
27 April 2020

This body oil wash was great. Feels super gentle on the skin. I only need one to two squeezes for my whole body. It applies like an oil but on contact with water lathers up slightly into a milky wash but it still feels gentle on my skin. Slight florence fragrance but fades. It leaves my dry body skin soft and smooth. It hydrates my skin and removes any dry patches. It takes away all the itchy skin I have. After each use my skin felt very clean and soft with using this product as well as not dry.I really enjoy this product. It also lasted months even with daily use but I only used a small amount each time. It is an expensive wash but if you have damaged or dry skin it's very helpful.
