Really like these shoes. Iv'e had 3 pairs and they are sturdy, very supportive of the foot and don't break down too quickly. Only reason I don't rate at 5 stars is the price. I don't mind paying for quality with any product- which these shoes have but, at well over 2 bills with tax, it's a little bit over the top.One thing to note with La Sportiva is that they run about a size and a half small. I wear a constant size 12 in casual shoes, dress shoes, and boots -D width. So,I have a normal type foot; width and arches. With this brand I must have a size 13-1/2 (47.5 Euro).Iv'e been buying this brand in different models for 5 years or so and this has always been the case. Just be aware of that if you're a first time buyer. Go a minimum of 1 size over your normal ... MoreReally like these shoes. Liking them so far. Like all La sportiva footwear they run small. At least 1 size. I generally wear a 43. They are also, like most euro shoes, narrower than most Americans like. I really like the rock plate. It cushions the foot on rough trails. This makes them a little heavier than some shoes but that’s a trade off I like. Over all I’m happy with them. Time will tell as to their durability.

Best Shoes Ever!

Purchased these shoes for mixed use hiking/running/winter walking shoes and they are amazing. So far have only had a chance to use them in the winter but they get amazing grip on snow and ice and are extremely waterproof. I have fairly wide feet and found that they still fit quite well with the laces fully loosened. They're super supportive and are by far one of the best shoes I've ever owned. They have a low to moderate amount of cushion which is perfect for these shoes as you still want them to be responsive. Would highly recommend.

Great hiking or walking shoes.
11 October 2023

Supportive hiking shoes. These shoes, as others have noted, run small. Plan on going up a size. They are also a little narrow. But otherwise I’m enjoying them and especially appreciate the rock plate as I hike on uneven surfaces and the protection of my feet is nice. I only have 10-15 miles on them, but so far I’m happy with them.

Great product
10 March 2024

After reading a number of tests and very positive reviews,I bought this shoe online from the MEC website. I orderedthe 42.5 as I usually take a 9 or 9.5. The 42.5 was a bit too tight.MEC exchanged the shoes without any troubles. The 43 fits near perfectly. The shoe is very solid feeling, Wide enough, with a roomy toe box.The heel pocket is an area where I have had trouble in the recent past with other brands, but is excellent here.I haven't really tested the Gore-Tex water resistance fully, but early indications walking in snow are positive.Grip on snow is very good. The lacing system is very good. All in all, one of the best shoes I've owned.

La Sportiva Ultra Raptor II
14 June 2023

I have a pair of La Sportiva Nucleo High II GTX boots that I like a lot. So i needed a pair of low waterproof hiking shoes. So i bought these. So far after about a month I have no complaints. Very comfortable once I wore them a couple of times. I wear a size 11 regular and they seemed a little tight across the top of my foot at first. I stretched them a little and loosened the laces all the way down my foot. After that, they wore nicely.

Too small, tongue compresses foot
11 October 2024

At least 1 - 1.5 sizes too small. I usually wear 10.5 in street shoes, but 11.5 still gives me pinch points. Size 12 will be too long. The tongue also gets in the way and compresses top of foot, I have to keep tugging it back up to release the compression below. The tread pattern has weird deep grooves and creased over 'pockets' of rubber that collect tiny rocks. This pair is going back.

Trekking boots
10 December 2023

Really aswome looking, excellent range of choices for different colors. Sizes tend to run a little small (comparing to Adidas or Salomon, I needed 1 size more). Shoes on firt try seem a little hard, I plan on wearing them a few days to walk them in and soften before going for a hike. So far they do the work, in rain the foot stays dry. Seems like they are quite hot (its winter now and i dont get cold feet), I hope they wont be too hot for summer trailing.

Waterproof, lightweight, comfy, wide sizing
11 October 2024

Love love love this hiking shoe! Have had traditional Vasque/Asolo hiking boots for decades, but decided to try the lighter weight shoes- so much more comfortable. Hiked Swiss Alps and Cinque Terre in Italy last summer and they were perfect. One of the few gore-tex hiking shoes that come in a wide size, which made all the difference for me. Fully waterproof- just walked through pouring rain and puddles and socks completely dry. Highly recommend.

Wide not wide
19 August 2024

I have slightly wide feet. Nothing crazy, I can fit in some regular shoes. But, a wide is the best option for me. Unfortunately, there’s only a few wide trail runners that come in wide. Of those only the Solomon’s and this one look sharp (in my opinion). Once I got my foot all the way in these. I thought my toes would get cut off. ordered a slightly larger size (in a wide) just in case. It was not enough. The toe is way too tight to be considered a wide.
