It runs fast enough for my liking and the rugged case is great for transport.The cables are a little short for my liking since I attach it to an iMac form the back lightning ports but it works great. This cable shortness is definitely an advantage for a laptop

I use this external HD for backup of large files, and it is perfect for this much faster than others I've used in the past, and it's still easy to travel with rugged and light enough. A little heavier than expected, but it is 2 drives together so to be expected. It also came with perfect array of cables for all my needs so could use it straight out of the box. I love it.

Just bought my second one for an upcoming ad campaign shoot. I'll use it to back up everything and be completely assured of speed and reliability. It's so very fast and so small it's great for location work.
As the owner of a still going strong 2012 MacBookPro that I use for video editing, I needed a storage solution that could handle both Thunderbolt 2 and 3 connections and this little jewel has the capacity and connections. I've had a 500G Lacie that's been solid for years. The rugged orange cover is easy to grip, stays where you sit it down and tough. Just what video in the field calls for.
Bought to link directly with a new MacBook pro this Hard drive is simple plug and play as is super fast. It will be travelling with me everywhere and this is the reason for this particular drive. This is my second drive now.
This is the only external hard drive I trust. When you have had several 2TB hard drives fail on you, you soon lose confidence in those brands. This is the case with me. I now own 2 x 4TB, 2 x 2TB, a 250Gb and a 60Gb. All rugged drives and never had one fail on me yet. The most reliable external (and portable) hard drive I have ever used.
