I am quite happy that I purchased this particular lap desk. It is very comfortable and fits on my lap between the arms on my easy chair. The soft cushion lower part is easy to arrange for comfort. The barrier at the bottom of the lap desk holds my laptop computer in place.

This lap desk is made of good quality material and has clean construction, not to mention a very nice design and is relatively light in weight. However, it fails in two main areas. The first is heat shielding. I had first looked into getting a lap desk because the heat from my laptop was starting to cause some serious irritation on my legs to the point where i started using pillows under my computer to shield myself from the heat. If you use a tablet or just a book or a keyboard or a small thin laptop that is not too heavy and doesn't give off noticeable heat then this will work well for you, but anything past a 14" laptop will be too heavy and produce too much heat for this item to be effective or comfortable.Unfortunately, I will be returning mine.

I have a smaller lap desk that I bought many years ago, but decided I needed something a bit bigger. This cost a little more than I would have liked, but I'm still glad I bought it, and I was able to use my rewards to shave a little off the cost. It's very comfortable. When I telework from home I can use it comfortably all day without any problems, and then on into the evening on my own time. The cushion part easily conforms to my lap, and is good quality material. The hard surface seems to be a laminate, unlike my old lap desk that is a plastic surface. It has a spot for a cell phone, but I use it for a couple of ink pens to keep them handy. I expect I'll be using this for many years to come.
These are just the BEST! There are a million similar type products but this SPECIFIC ONE is the BEST. Here’s why. It is comfortable on your LAP. It doesn’t make your lap hot and sweaty because it is light enough that it lets you feel comfortable. Also. It has a spot for a pen and a little slot to put a phone or calculator in. It’s just the perfect basic everyday item my husband and I were looking for. We bought two. They are great for working while watching tv or working on a jewelry project or lots of other things. I also wrote Christmas cards on mine. I pay bills on it. It’s something we use nearly every day. Love them. Thank you.
With my son being a Quadriplegic, this is the only desk that will work for him as he spends a lot of time in bed on his laptop. The soft cushion allows for adjustments and he can have it on his legs for hours without causing pressure sores. I am so thankful that Office Depot carries this product
This LapGear designer lap desk is awesome and can also be used as a meal tray. I love the slot for my iPhone, and the padded underside is so comfortable. I chose the Aqua Trellis design and am very happy with it. It is exactly as described.
I have a small stand for my laptop which is fine until I want to type more than one or two words at a time (like this review). This lap desk lets me have the keyboard in correct position without scalding my own lap with fan exhaust. I have had to move it off my lap a few times for my cat to claim her spot. The underside has a beanbag type filling so it can adjust somewhat for example if you cross one or both legs. The ridge at the front has been useful to keep the laptop or papers in place.
I bought this one b/c it had a soft lap underneath which allows me to tilt/adjust it on my lap. I also liked the aqua color %26 it's not too big. The top is tan with a small rod on the bottom %26 a pen slot at the top, which I also liked. Overall, just what I wanted.
Love this. The desk part is big enough for my laptop and mouse. It is big enough to use for other things as well, if you are on bedrest. The cushion is micro beads so it is very comfortable!! Plus you can choose different prints.
