I am a 66 year old person and I found that the set up menu of this DVD player impossible. It plugged in easy and I could use it in a limited way to view DVD disks and USB sticks but I could not get it properly set up as to how I wanted it because the internal set up menu was too hard for me to follow. I read through the owners manual but it is very limited in its information and was really no help at all. The remote control while being of a larger size has VERY small buttons and my fingers often pressed 2 buttons at once as they are so close together. When using the remote there is a time lag between pressing the buttons and the change at the player. I thought that I was buying from a person on ebay but the DVD player came from Kogan's and was wrapped in there Kogan ... MoreI am a 66 year old person and I found that the set up menu of this DVD player impossible. This was a replacement for a much more expensive Blu-ray player (that stopped accepting discs after 3 years of minimal use). So far the Laser Blu-ray player is doing the job well and outputs video and audio correctly to my Denon amp. We also used to get audio drop out issues with the old Blu-ray player, whereas we have not had any audio issues with the new Laser Blu-ray player. I would recommend it.

Good value
25 March 2021

After taking it out of the box and setting it up the disc tray only ejected half way and then would go back in again. Was faulty so returned it and The Good Guys had no problem replacing it. Haven't had an issue with the second one but I've only used it 2 or 3 times. It can get a little bit noisey when loading a disc and had to put something under it to stop the vibration, but all in all its a good player for the price. Picture and sound is good. Plays multi region discs. My older DVDs look good. Does what I want and at a budget price. Overall I'm satisfied with it.

Laser All Region Blu-Ray Player BLU -BD3000
16 March 2022

Excellent player. I Can play all my foreign film dvds and Blu-rays using this little gem. It is all region for DVD. For Blu Ray it is all region when you follow this easy set up. Open the Player. Dont put a disc in so player settings come up. Click Setting in the homepage or press the Setting button on the remote control then press 8520 to enter the region setting page Change the BD Region Code"Region A press 1Region B press 2Region C press 4Exit the page when finished. So when you next put your blu ray disc in you just need to press 1, 2 or 4 depending on region code and it works. Great price for this. Laser DVD player remote terrible
11 April 2022

I had to replace the product once already after just one week. The remote only worked randomly . New remote not much better, have to push the buttons several times before it works. The main buttons you use for stopping and fast forwarding are tiny. Bad design! Might take this one back as well. Only got it because it is the only DVD player I can find that plays dvds from America.

Laser Multi Region Blue Ray Player
5 January 2022

It's over a month I have used the player. But disappointed it could not play DVD movie bought recently from JB-HIFI. Also it does not play Blur Ray DVD movie bought from Thailand. It is not multi region player as claimed. Don't buy refurbished Laser multi region blue ray player It is also noisy when playing the movie. Humming noise each time it plays a movie.

My First Blu-ray Player
18 May 2017

Our DVD player died so it was time to upgrade. With a technophobe wife, a techfreak son and me with shallow pockets. So it had to be easy to use, good quality and not too expensive. Was a bit concerned about being a factory refurb but I couldn't see anything wrong when it arrived - especially since Auspost delivered it with their usual care and attention. Dropped it (literally) at the front door and bolted. But it works fine. The wife has already managed to successfully use it several times - so she is happy. And I only had to show her once. No problems connecting it to the home network - works fine with my Synology NAS. The picture quality is a noticeable improvement over our previous DVD player - both for Blu-ray movies and DVDs. Overall - it may not have as many features as the more expensive, "well known" brands and they may have even better picture quality but the whole family is happy with this unit. For the price; I couldn't ask for better features or quality.

Remote control very difficult to use, otherwise a good unit.
17 June 2020

Good product except for one very irritating problem. That is, the remote control is very sensitive and one has to aim it very carefully at the unit to enable communication, which even then only works for about 1 in 3 pushes of the remote buttons. I'm not sure if this is a common problem with the unit or the one I received is faulty. Maybe someone else, or the manufacturer, can advise me what the problem is. BTW I have read the instructions and am aware that the remote needs to be aimed at the unit within a 30degree angle. It still doesn't work as I would expect.

Value for money

I purchased this unit about 4 weeks ago and it's performance I would rate as being - only average. Meaning ... it works OK but button function on the remote often needs to be pressed multiple times to ie. turn ON or OFF and disc drawer operation seems to be the same .... needing to be pressed more than once. My main criticism(s) relate to the remote! The buttons are very small (cramped) and I usually need to switch on a lamp in the lounge to identify exactly where the control button I need for a particular operation is located. Button positioning seems odd and the unit needs to be studied each time I use it to see how I am going to achieve the operation I need each time ... meaning only that it probably isn't well laid out. WHY can't remotes have LARGER buttons for common-use functions like start/stop and volume??? The units (remotes) are soooo tiny that an average finger can quite easily depress 3 or 4 buttons in one go .... difficulties arise in a darkened room ie. like a room designed to use a DVD in ....
