This machine does not merit the sales hype. I was led to believe that to connect to my miniMac desktop I need only switch printer on and locate it underPrinters & Scanners. No so. The connecting procedure using arrow and OK buttons was so amazingly unsophisticated as to prove practically useless. I am returning this L2400 because I have lost all patience. It does not surprise me that there are no reviews.

Very expensive toner on subscription from brother and not yet available from 3rd parties.Unless the 3rd parties catch up, the printer wil be scrapped when the free subscription ends
This is a very easy printer to set up, however, trying to get the Brother site to work in relation to the toner is a nightmare. Have given up on this part and will just buy the toner another way

However this printer has two major drawbacks. Firstly, the printer driver will only install on Windows 10 or later. That’s not usually a problem, but I have one older computer running Windows 7. It took a while to figure it out, but I eventually got it to work by dragging a couple of files from the Windows 10 driver to the appropriate folder in Windows 7. The other major drawback is that the toner cartridges have chips, and so no generic cartridges are available.
