I have purchased this and Lavazza Tin Cafe Espresso Italiano just for fun and comparison. The other can was dented. Definitely not the shipping fault as the dent was on the inside, not where the can was touching the outside of the box. I am a strong coffee lover and was excited to order this coffee after reading reviews. The excitement is temporary. The taste is awful and harsh. Big possibility this will be my last order here.

I recently bought a new DeLonghi Espresso Machine (ECP3630) after using the same old fashioned forced steam style machine for 20 years which was such a pain I hadn’t touched in the past 4. Even though I have been using Lavazza Espresso and coffee beans exclusively since spending a couple months in Italy in 2009, I had never seen this Crema e Gusto in stores and decided to try it after seeing the reviews. I stopped trying to find a coffee shop in the US that knew how to make a proper Italian cappuccino years ago, and the frother on my little old machine wouldn’t create a proper foam no matter what I tried. When I first opened the bag of coffee, the smell was absolutely wonderful. I stopped trying to find a coffee shop in the US that knew how to make a proper Italian cappuccino years ago, and the frother on my little old machine wouldn’t create a proper foam no matter what I tried. When I first opened the bag of coffee, the smell was absolutely wonderful. As my new machine produced the espresso, the Crema was beautiful and the taste of the espresso by itself was delightful. I was easily able to properly froth my milk with lots of fluffy foam and as I tilted my finished cappuccino towards my lips, I closed my eyes and inhaled the smell, which brought me right back to my first morning in Venice, the sounds of Piazza San Marcos around me, the smell of early September air and the elation I felt as the taste of that cappuccino tickled my taste buds! Every cappuccino since the first one I made, I can easily close my eyes and go back to a specific day/place of each day in Italy and Monaco! My partner and I ended up bringing home several pounds of Lavazza coffee from Italy, in case we couldn’t find it near the outer Tampa, FL suburb we lived in. Shortly after returning, we moved back to our hometown of Seattle, where Lavazza had already set up a US office and we were able to buy Lavazza coffee and beans in almost any grocery store. Undoubtably the quality of your espresso machine is going to affect the taste and experience you have with any brand/label …but if you already love any of the other Lavazza varieties, I definitely recommend you try the Crema e Gusto!

I’m calling it 3M Caffe. I like everything except one of the packages was exposed to the air, wasn’t sealed well by vacuum. My order was 3 pack of 4, so 1 was without vacuum and the rest was in grate condition. The taste is great creamy. It has a little bitterness, which makes it the best coffee compared to others. Works for everything for me, it’s in between Medium and Dark roast.

Great crema great taste

I have tried various ground Lavazzas - cafe espresso, perfetto and now Crema e gusto. I have also tried illy dark, Peets espresso forte and Starbucks blend and even cafe bustello (too much acidity for me) over the past 6 months since returning from a European vacation. Yes all pre ground. I know what can I say got to get to work in time in the am take out and feed the dogs you get the idea no time to morning grind. That being said I've now tried crema e gusto In a Moka espresso pot (perfect as I believe Robusto above stated, creamy and rich (and yes a tiny bit bitter but hey I wake up early so that gets me gong) fench press - not as good a bit too fine perhaps if I placed a filter paper below the press? And a nespresso Virtuoline with refilled capsules. Also ... MoreI have tried various ground Lavazzas - cafe espresso, perfetto and now Crema e gusto. I will be buying more, but skipping the French press for this grind.

Lightly toasted Cocoa
28 June 2023

This coffee is my go-to for morning cappuccino. It makes fantastic crema and pairs well with any milk (dairy and non-dairy). It has a hint of toast and cocoa - but just a hint. I use my 20 year old machine to make my double shot and only coffee for the day. The price is terrific.

Much stronger than QualitĂ  Rossa
1 December 2020

This is 70% robusta and 30% arabica (rather than Qualita Rossa's 30% and 70%) which means it's got quite a lot more caffeine in. It does a pretty good espresso in my moka pot, keeps me going better through the day. I have it with some sugar neat - it is a bit bitter but classier than a lot of supermarket own-brand dark-roasted espresso coffee which you'll gag on. This is comparatively merciful, a bit harsh but it's got a good aftertaste and it's mixed with some of those Lavazza sweet liquoricy arabica flavours. I suspect it's a bit too bitter for 'long' drinks i.e. where you add milk etc, but I don't know for sure.

The 3 star reviewer has no palette.
27 September 2023

This isn’t an espresso grind. It’s medium roast that is extremely finely ground. You have to experiment with different amounts to get that perfect result. Just like any coffee. Know your coffee maker. We use the Behmor coffee maker add 7 scoops for 8 cups and 5 for 6. Perfect coffee every time. Flavor is rich aromatic and smooth. For those who like a medium roast cannot recommend highly enough.

The best but yet more price hikes
28 January 2023

I love this coffee, it can be as rich oras weak as you like. Perfect taste. Ihave 2 mugs a day and a packet lasts me a week. However, Asda have increased the price 50p since last week, every single item I order has gone up and not just 10p here and there 50ps and ÂŁ1's. So as much as I love this coffee and asda, I'll be buying elsewhere due yo the big jump in price
