It took me a moment or two to figure out that you lift the inner cardboard out of the box and it sort of "unfolds" or "unravels" to show you your coffee machine. Much prefer this to my previous coffee machine . It's quiet, doesn't leak (like a previous much more expensive make) and makes good coffee. Only minor problem I have is that the tank is at the back - easy to spill water when filling unless you take the tank out every time; but then most if not all coffee machines of this type are like this. And the coffee is actually hot, again, unlike my previous coffee machine. Pods are now widely available major supermarkets, including decaf. Would recommend this.

I love my new coffee machine. It offers different possibilities depending on how strong or how long you want your coffee to be. The milk frother works well too, and it can be used independently, which is helpful. Minor quibbles from me as a vision-impaired person, I can't just pour milk into the milk frother because I cannot see the levels marked on the inside, so I have to measure the milk separately - a minor inconvenience. If redesigned by Lavazza, I would like to see some kind of indicator that can be read from the outside. This compact machine fits in well on a compact work surface.

Putting the pod in correctly wasn't hard seeing as though the hole on the top of the machine, has the shape of the pod.I didn't get much splatter with the coffee coming out, but it did leave a little drip at the end of the nozzle. So for an extra clean I ran a short shot, with no pod, after I was done making our coffees.In regards to the coffee pods, they were creamy and not bitter at all. Some pods out there that you buy can make the coffee taste almost off but these pods were lovely. And a bonus on top of that was that the coffee was hot. I honestly didn’t expect the coffee to be that hot so it was a lovely surprise.In the froth machine I used lactose free milk which doesn’t froth easy. To my surprise, it turned out thick and creamy. It wasn’t bubbly or airy it was pretty good.One last thing I wanted to add is that it’s a good machine to have, especially during lockdown, seeing as though you can buy the pods that are specifically made for it, from your local supermarkets.

Good Points: If u like first wave italian espresso this really does pull a fantastic shot. Much better than nespresso. Extraction time is similar to a regular espresso machine. Thick espresso. Nice dark crema. Well balanced taste.Improvement Points: Small cup shelf - only works with espresso cups. Not really a problem but if someone wants to pull a bigger cup this won’t work - they’d need to pull a shot and then pour the shot into a bigger mug and make an americana.Also new “eco” pods tend to get stuck in the machine because of the softer plastic.
