Best multi-purpose bean

I've tried every Lavazza bean and also went through many other premium companies and always come back to the top class. Used in a high end Gaggia machine, this bean is perfect for both straight espresso, flat whites, and just coffee. Great flavor, can be made strong, but is not overwhelming and not acidic or bitter at all. I ran out just over the holidays and substituted with another bean and my entire family noticed. Once the Top Class arrived, my family again noticed the better quality.

Had to give them one star just to write a reviewBuyer beware! The will ship you old coffee beans, Mfg 10/2020 18 month old beans are not fresh. Bags even lost the vacuum seal(I bought 6 bags) Requested that they send me fresh coffee or refund. They said they would send new coffee, waited for them to send shipping confirmation….instead a day later I got a new email saying instead of sending new coffee the would give me $30 latte rewards towards future purchases, don’t bother. Would not purchase anything from this company. They do not stand behind there products and making the customer happy

I buy this coffee for 20 years by now. This time the so called "Top Class" was so different that I suspect this is a fake batch.1. It is always larger beans, this time they are small.2. It is always medium roast, this time they are dark roast, which I totally dislike.3. It is always 'velvety' surface, this time they are shiny (oily). That alone, angers me because the oil 'maddens' the pipes and grinder of my Jura J90

I was a long-time Lavazza
14 December 2021

I was a long-time Lavazza Super Crema drinker, but decided to try some alternatives. Before using a super-automatic, my go-to was Sumatra; sticking to super-automatic-safe beans, I still look for rich, low-acid coffees. This one is very nice. I also have to mention that WLL makes it really easy to find beans that fit my taste and my machine. Kudos for that!

Nice taste and mouth feel
21 February 2022

I like Lavazza coffee beans in general. I normally use Super Crema, but tried Top Class and Gran Reserva. I make espresso and cappuccinos. Super Crema is our favorite, but Top Class is close. It has a slightly lighter mouth feel and taste. I will use it again.

Our favorite

Absolute favorite at the household. After trying a bunch of “super crema” varietals, we settled on this as the most flavorful, robust and overall delicious coffee. Using on a Philips super automatic, the results are spectacular across all drink types - espresso, Americano, cappuccino and cafe au lait.

Real Espresso Flavor
1 October 2019

Choice of coffee is, of course, always a matter of personal taste. I have tried all of the Lavazza blends, and most of the Kimbo as well. The trick is to find a blend that works with your machine and produces the ideal balance of fruitiness (acid) and bitterness. I found that all of the all-arabica blends ended up being a bit sour, and without enough full coffee flavor. Super Cremates -- almost everybody's favorite -- is very, very good, but I find it a bit bland. Now that I have the machine perfectly dialed in (ECM Synchronica, used with a Eureka Atom grinder, both from WLL) the Top Class produces the perfect double espresso. Rich, lovely aftertaste, no trace of sourness. It's a strong blend, a classic Italian espresso. The flavor is about the same as what I am served in the best espresso bars in Greenwich Village, NY and in Rome. And WLL sends it out, fast as lightning, very fresh, at the best price.

The Coffee I was looking for!
14 October 2019

I am a Mocha drinker (Only mochas). I tried the Trinidad Coffee Espresso and found it too mild and too "earthy" in flavor. I tried the Lavazza Super Crema and didn't get much crema and it too was mild in flavor. I tried the Maromas Orphea and the flavor really "popped" with lots of crema. Delicious, but just a hint more "fruity" than I wanted. When I tried the Lavazza Top Class Espresso (recommended to my by wholelattelove.com support), the flavor "popped" like the Orphea and gave me good crema as well, and the flavor was just right! It has a chocolaty flavor that blends well with the Hersey's chocolate syrup I use. I have found the coffee beans for me!I use a Capresso conical burr grinder set on Extra fine. My personal tastes probably differ from many who would read this review, but I am extremely happy with my purchase and will order it again soon. Since my Son and Wife have found it delicious, I will probably be ordering it sooner than I expected ;-)

This is one of the best coffees I had. It is very smooth and has a fantastic flavor.Pros: Great taste (Lavazza coffees are very good)Cons: Nothing in regards to the coffee itself. The shipping costs are horrendous. For that price, I expect the coffee to be at my door within two days. It took 9.

We all can’t agree
1 January 2023

My wife and I have been enjoying our coffee for decades and we’ve spent thousands over time on our interest, We regularly try a bag of something new to us. That’s how we came to purchase a bag of Lavazza Top Class. I do believe this is the only coffee I’ve bothered giving a 1 star review. We don’t like it. To our taste it’s thin, bitter, nasty, makes terrible crema, and as my wife just said, “it’s just terrible”.
