Iāve been using this 2-3 times a week for 8 months now and it still looks brand new (Iāve been putting it in the dishwasher that often too). This isnāt a fry an egg and it slides off onto the plate type of pan so donāt set your expectation on that. I usually start off by browning my meat, then sautĆ©ing onions and garlic, then deglazing the pan with wine or broth and incorporating that into the dish somehow. Everything comes off so easily that I could lightly rinse it off in the sink afterwards but Iām too lazy to even do that so in the dishwasher it goes and nothing has happened to the surface yet.Cons:1. not the most nonstick pan but Iām willing to sacrifice that for a safe surface to cook my food on.2. itās heavy! Other uncoated cast irons allow me to use metal on it. However, this is an inconvenience I am willing to tolerate in exchange for the pan being dishwasher safe unlike other cast iron pans. I also LOVE that the interior is black so I donāt have to be bothered with the discoloration from cooking. This truly has been one of the best investments Iāve made. I recommend this over all the other trendy pans.

After seeing a lot of positive reviews and needing a new frying pan I decided to purchase this product. I have always had non stick pans and wanted to purchase something that would last a lifetime (like my John Lewis stainless steal saucepans- so far going strong for 6 years and my dads are going on 26!)I had done abit of research on which frying pan, seeing that stainless steel are typically more difficult to work with (re not sticking) so I opted for a cast iron pan instead.I had minimal knowledge on how to look after this pan but understood that if you correctly "season" and wash the pan it will hold its non stick quality. Therefore, if you are considering this pan you must do your research on how to look after it or you will hate it.The first time I cooked ...Ā MoreAfter seeing a lot of positive reviews and needing a new frying pan I decided to purchase this product. Therefore, if you are considering this pan you must do your research on how to look after it or you will hate it.The first time I cooked with it, everything stuck and I kept accidentally flicking things out the pan due to its shallow sides. - this was my error for using the pan to cook gnocchi, however, something to note if you wanted an all rounder pan this is not it.Once I got the hang of using the pan (a lot of oil, seasoning after use, drying thoroughly) it has been a dream.I got the black colour so that it won't discolour over time and it feels sturdy and well made (like all le Creuset!)However, it is extremely heavy. I am fairly strong but due to the short handle length and weighting of this pan it is almost impossible to pick up with one hand when cooking. The handle also gets very hot if cooking on the hob for long periods of time.As noted previously, this is not an all rounder pan. This pan is best used for meat and fish as it gives a lovely crisp coating without burning. If you use this pan for smaller food such as gnocchi or mixed veg be prepared for it to flick onto the floor. It is expensive for a pan however, it truly will last a lifetime and is much healthier and safer than non stick pans.Cleaning it is also very easy! Some hot water and a scrub daddy do the trick!

The first LeCruset I purchased was the Oval dutch oven with grill as the lid and it blew me away. I was astonished as how easy it was to work with and how much better it made food taste ~ and it was a dream to clean. When I saw this pan, I expected the same performance. Sadly that has not been the case. Everything sticks to it no matter what I try and the clean up is a nightmare. I wish I wouldāve returned it as I rarely use the pan. I purchased a cast iron pan from Cooks Essentials that blows this one away at a fraction of the price. I would not recommend this pan, definitely not worth the money at all.

This is my go to pan. It is permanently on my stove. I start in the morning with eggs, grilled cheese for lunch, shepherd's pie for dinner and skillet cookie for dessert. AND you just have to rinse out the pan between meals. Or not. My pan is over 10 years old and perfectly seasoned so scrubbing is rarely needed but when I do have to "clean" it, I use water only and a mesh sponge. I have also read that cooking in a cast iron pan helps maintain blood iron levels so that's an added bonus! This is a lifetime plan - no screwed on handles to fall off and no non-stick coating to flake. It's def a keeper!
Le Creuset 20cm enamelled cast iron frypan in beautiful Marseille blue. Perfect gift for myself for small quantity frying. Great gift to give anyone. Size advantage for quicker heat, cook, clean up, and a lighter weight for handling smaller quantities, which is easier for those with arthritis or lower hand/wrist strength. Side spouts make pouring off juices, or sauces controlled and easy. Cooks beautifully in it on all types of stove tops and in the oven. I add the matching blue Le Creuset silicone handle cover for comfort and safety. Cooks perfectly using gentle heat to medium heat (never high heat -not needed and damages your frypan). A little veg. oil or oil & butter, for non stick. Cast iron retains heat a long time off heat, keeping your food warm for serving ...Ā MoreLe Creuset 20cm enamelled cast iron frypan in beautiful Marseille blue. I bought this for my daughterās wedding shower. Both Alexis and her fiancĆ© are still raving about what a fantastic skillet this. Given that I am not one for cooking, at all(!), I was somewhat shocked. But, she had requested that I purchase from the selection of cookware. I have to admit that I was somewhat surprised by the price for one skillet. Apparently, as I have subsequently been told by my friends and daughter, this is the ārolls Royceā of pans! The sales people at Bloomingdales were also tremendously helpful and genuinely seemed to be excited about my selection. And, here I was going to buy a couple place settings of her fine China!! I will be back for that sometime soon, thoughā I still need to throw my shower for Alexis.
I canāt recommend this pan highly enough. I bought the 10 1/4 version and will be purchasing the 12ā as well. I rarely write reviews but this pan deserves it: after 3 months of almost daily use I love it! I have many All Clad pans, their most expensive version, as well as older Le Creuset pans and Staub. This new frying pan surpassed them all for daily sautĆ©ing and frying, itās simply marvelous. Le Creuset coating has GREATLY improved, canāt emphasize it enough. Donāt know what they did to it but the difference is very tangible, and for the better. Almost hard to believe any product has changed for the better, usually itās the opposite these days. I was so excited to get this skillet. However Iāve been totally disappointed by it. Ever since the first use, everything I tried to cook got stuck to the pan, all simple daily family dishes, from scrambled eggs, tstir-fried veggies, to fried rice⦠I dare not try cooking tofu in this awful pan. I followed the cleaning/caring instructions word to word since receiving it. Iām just perplexed how Le Creuset can fail me like this. TBH this is the first pan I own in this particular Le Creuset collection.
Sorry but this pan way underperforms the cost.I'll start off with, it looks great & feels solid. Now the bad, it does not disperse heat well at all, so the 13" skillet we have is basically like a 9" skillet because that is all that gets hot, even on our widest burner. And yes it looks beautiful, but after a single use the blue on the bottom scratched on our gas stove under just normal use.So, if you want a really great looking pan that you really just want for decoration or a status symbol that you can spend this much on a pan, then this is yours. If you want a functional cast iron pan, buy a Lodge and save $200.
I have had this piece of art in a form of a skillet for nearly 18 months now and to be honest I love cooking every single day because of this pan. I now look forward to cooking almost always.Initially it took me while to get used to using it as it's a skill to cook on cast iron but once I got the hang of it - I am never ever going back to stainless steel or teflon. The food tastes so much better. The stakes are juicy and with a perfect crust. Chicago style deep dish pizza is a discovery for me. The omelette is amazing and salmon comes off so juicy. It's almost hard to believe the difference and prior buying it I wouldn't have believed the adverts praising how good the food can taste. I do believe the Le Creuset adverts - truly converted now.I have certainly ...Ā MoreI have had this piece of art in a form of a skillet for nearly 18 months now and to be honest I love cooking every single day because of this pan. I do believe the Le Creuset adverts - truly converted now.I have certainly received a lot more compliments about my food since switching to Le Creuset. I am using it almost every day because I love it so much and as it comes with a lifetime warranty it hasn't lost it's initial charm, only got better.I got mine in Satin Black. The colour is a bit dull but on the upside it can handle higher temperatures than all the beautiful ones that come in colour. I can go from top to oven without even thinking about it. Be careful though as it gets really hot. I have learnt this the hard way.I wash it with a dish brush and hot water after every use and dry it straight away either heating it up or with a fabric dish towel. It does hold heat really well and requires a smallest setting on my gas cooker. Saves a little on the energy bill in the long run.I was hesitant at it's price but it's Le Creuset after all with a Lifetime Warranty. A top quality product and my only regret is that I didn't get it sooner. Enjoy cooking and don't thank me, thank John Lewis and Le Creuset.
