When shopping at a discount grocery that supplies restaurants, I noticed these huge aluminum pots many restaurants used and realized home cooking in safe Le Creuset enameled steel instead of unknown restaurants was the best I could do for my kids. Because these pots are steel, they are lighter than cast iron, but thick walled, so they keep food warm for a while, while not so long that they take too long to cool in order to put leftovers in the fridge. In a word PERFECT.

Unlike cast iron, carbon steel bends. Therefore, anything brittle adhered to it (i.e. enamel) will immediately crack if there is an inconvenient tap by a hard surface, such as a stone or ceramic kitchen countertop. After the first time this resulted in a chip inside the pot, Le Creuset offered a one-time free replacement, which was nice. But they also informed me that they don't repair these pots because of their base material, and unlike their cast iron pots, they damage very easily. I also own two of the cast iron pots, and have been banged on regularly as with the stockpot, but without any issue. It's nice to have a stockpot that matches the dutch ovens, but it's not worth it for how easily these pots are rendered useless. The service of the pot (enamel coverage) isImperfect within two small spots! I am very surprised because this brand is usually ofPerfect quality. I paid for a new pot….without imperfections. Williams of Sonoma usuallyProvides top quality. I think they sent a “second”….rather than top quality.Of course it cooks well….i am just disappointedthat I received a “second)..or damaged pot.

Love LeCreuset cookware and have used it almost exclusively for over thirty years..for Christmas I received a Williams-Sonoma gift card from our son. I excitedly placed an order for an 8 qt LeCreuset stockpot and several other items I had been wanting. The stockpot was used once and put in a cabinet used for items infrequently used. I got it out May 25 (4 months after receiving it). It has an inch plus crack on the lid and the enamel is beginning to flake off. I have a 10 qt Stockpot at over twenty years old that has been used many many times…it has no cracks and no problems; my multiple 30+ years old LeCreuset pots have no problems other than normal wear, which does not include any chipping. I noticed several reviews on William-Sonoma complaining about chipped stockpots sold by William-Sonoma. I should have paid attention and closely examined the pot when it arrived. William-Sonoma bluntly refuses to stand behind the products they sell. Be very cautious when ordering here. If you have cooking friends, warn them not to purchase LeCreuset pans from William-Sonoma.
I got this pot for Christmas 2023 and have only used it a few times because it sticks so terribly. My other pans and pots with the coated cast iron are easy to clean, but this ceramic coating on the bottom attracts pasta like a magnet! Everything sticks to the bottom immediately when you add it. If that's not bad enough, it's never been soaked and has always been hand washed but the gold trim around the top of the pot is turning silver in spots. Other than just sitting in the cabinet, nothing else could have caused this. It's not a quality product like you'd expect in my opinion.
Purchased to replace / upgrade existing bean pot that had a dark interior. Order was delivered very fast and arrived in perfect condition.Visual: The agave color coordinates with my existing Le Creuset pots. Like jewelry for my kitchen.Performance: To celebrate the new pot, an inaugural pot of beans were made, consisting of Ranch Gordo Moros. Performed beautifully. Subsequent pots have been equally as good.I have tried a moqueca and a verde pozole. Both made easier by the lighter interior. The weight of the pot is bit heavier than previous stockpot but this seems to allow more even heating.Downside: The only downside has been staining. I have had this large pot for about a year and although I really wanted to love it, I sadly don't. When I cook anything other than soup in this pot, the food sticks horribly to the bottom. If I cook Sunday Sauce or Chili, to name a few, it will stick to the bottom even with constant stirring. When I make soup, I don't have this issue. For the price, I expected more. Unfortunately, I think I have to finally admit this pot needs to be replaced with something that can cook more than just soup without the food sticking. At least it is easy to clean after use.
I bought this in August 1991. Le Creuset advertises as "heirloom" cookware. It should last longer than 3 years. I take very good care of all of my Le Creuset products. This pot developed a hole that has gone through the pot over time. It was expensive and now unusable. I have other brand cookware that I've had over 30 years and they don't promote themselves as "heirloom" quality. Very disappointed.
Purchased as a gift for my daughter. She used it once with silicone accessories and while cleaning noticed the enamel had chipped on the inside. I contacted LeCrueset and was told it wasn't under warranty. After a few back and forth emails they agreed to provide me a code to replace it online once they received the damaged item back, I sent the stockpot back in its original packaging and now its missing. Canada Post says its been delivered but LeCrueset isn't processing the item. This was sent Dec and now its Feb and we are at a loss what to do. $250 gone. Beyond disappointed in the quality of this item and will not purchase it again. We've been so impressed with dutch ovens and skillets but will avoid the steal and enamel in future
Stay away from this stockpot. This does not perform at the level that we expect for a Le Creuset product. I have used my pot three times and have it stored in a safe spot where nothing can dang it, I cannot understand how a chip developed on the bottom on the exact spot on both sides - if something minor dinged it and caused this kind of damage that is unacceptable. Le Creuset refuses to stand behind the warranty. This pot is a piece of garbage - not worth the price.
